We were on a fishing trip and the house was in a good location for us. We really enjoyed our stay it was clean and comfortable. Everything was very nice.
Great stay at the Lily Pad. Clean, comfortable bed, well stocked with all we needed. Loved the location for walking all around downtown Excelsior. Will definitely stay again.
We were very pleased with the accommodations and service. We were in the area to visit with family and travel to granddaughters' hockey games around the area. The location was perfect. The town of Excelsior offers delightful downtown, shopping and restaurants.
The house was great! All of the basic necessities were covered. We appreciated the complementary snacks and wine. Location was great, quick walk to shops and restaurants.
The Lily Pad is a very charming house on the water. It met all of our needs. Katie was so kind as to leave a complimentary bottle of wine and a basket of snacks. The beds were very comfortable. We had a great time and enjoyed the restaurant recommendations from Katie. Definitely will recommend this lovely home.
Our stay was extremely convenient to Hwy 7, my brother’s home, and all the activities in Excelsior. Having a second bathroom was nice along with the washer, dryer , well equipped kitchen and outside deck overlooking the small lake. My main complaint would be the traffic noise from Hwy 7 early in the morning. Thanks for having the play and pack for my 4 month grandson and the prompt communication. Hope to stay again.
We had a pleasant weekend in the cozy cottage. The home was immaculately clean. The kitchen was recently updated and was well equipped with all of the necessary appliances. Nice view of a lake with resident egrets and wood ducks. Two large common rooms with smart TVs for hanging out. An easy walk to restaurants, shops and nightlife. The only minor quibble was that the traffic on the street was a bit busier than desired. We didn't appreciate that Excelsior is a bustling resort town, and was surprised how active it was on a cold April weekend. Overall great, would definitely stay again.
My wife and I enjoyed a nice, kid-free anniversary getaway in Excelsior. Katie's place was very clean, cozy, and looks even better in person. The view of the lake was nice especially after a fresh snowfall one of the nights we stayed. The trees covered in snow were beautiful. The house is close to so many great shops and restaurants. The king bed was super comfy and we even found a fan in the closet which my wife appreciated for the white noise. Katie left a basket of snacks (great variety) as well as a complimentary bottle of wine. I highly recommend staying at the Lily Pad if you get the opportunity. Thank you, Katie!

unfortunately i Never was able to stay. when the crowdstrike software issue arose, we were grounded and could not get any flights to minnesota in time to make our reservation. I contacted the host as soon we knew we would not make it. unfortunately we were not able to get the trip refunded (except for a cleaning fee). i found it really unacceptable that a global software outtage wasnt enough
So many wonderful memories made in this VRBO!
Our family of three enjoyed a lovely stay here for two weeks over the Thanksgiving holiday. The layout with two upstairs bedrooms worked well: one as a master, and the other as a nursery for our 11-month old. Also, having the extra full bathroom downstairs was a lifesaver. My husband and I could get ready at the same time while the baby was napping.
The living area on the main floor is functional and more spacious than I thought it would be. Our son loved climbing the stairs, and it was also easy to add a baby gate (we purchased) for times when we needed him in one area.
We loved being within walking distance of downtown Excelsior and definitely took advantage of it as the weather allowed. One thing to know if you're unfamiliar with the area: this house basically sits right on HWY 7, which is a busy road. This wasn't an issue for our family as we're used to traffic, but if you're sensitive to sound, plan ahead with ear plugs or white noise machines.
We would stay again, no question! Great location and overall setup for the price, and the hosts make everything easy—no unwanted surprises.
The reason I gave 4-stars for cleanliness: in my opinion, the house is at the point of needing a deeper cleaning than the normal turnover for rentals. Some of the furniture is also near a point of needing to be replaced. That said, it was tidy overall, and all of the stuff that really matters was on the up and up.
