The Neighborhood:

One block from the street-car line, this home faces treasures like the Broad Theater, Refresh Project, Marji's Grill & is alongside Lafitte Greenway which leads into The French Quarter!

Hungry? The best food in New Orleans is a quick walk from your front door: Angelo Brocato, Bayou Beer Garden, Bevi Seafood Co., Brown Butter, Clesi’s, Finn McCool’s Irish Pub, Katie’s, and Mandina’s. North of the noise and saturated color of the Quarter is a New Orleans neighborhood that’s perfected the art of living. “Welcome to Mid-City,” read the signs on the neutral ground. And that’s truth in advertising. It’s the kind of place where your auto mechanic invites you to a crawfish boil and a total stranger may buy you a drink at an Irish pub or a cannoli at an Italian bakery. Take the red streetcar line up Canal to the Cemeteries (Mid-City’s dead neighbors are as interesting as the live ones) or bike the new 2.6-mile-long Lafitte Greenway that stretches from Basin Street to Carrollton Avenue and, conveniently, past a po’ boy shop or two – or 17 – with a sno-ball shop and a micro-brewery thrown in for good measure. Buttermilk biscuits. Live music. A bowl of Vietnamese pho. Who wouldn’t want to visit? Eat. Drink. Get up here.

Getting Around:

Most of the Mid-City area is walking distance to the Canal Streetcar line. It's extremely pedestrian-friendly and bike-friendly. The Lafitte Greenway provides a safe bike and pedestrian corridor connecting to the French Quarter, as does the streetcar, which you are a block away from. You can also easily and cheaply uber or lyft anywhere in the city!

This place is wonderful! Convenient, comfortable, quiet, and very nicely appointed. Kitchen is well-stocked, beds and pillows are nice, we appreciated the Whole Foods right across the street, and busses and street cars are close by. We had a great time at Jazz Fest and would stay here again in a heart beat. Be aware of just the one shower, and the tub was a bit hard to navigate for us older folk, but we all got by just fine. Highly recommend! Be sure to eat at Neyow's Creole Café, just a short walk away!

Everything was outstanding , especially the comfort of the beds!Only surprise was the one working full bath for four grown men!The tub without the shower is a non factor, so in actuality it was two 1/2 baths and a full........I felt like it wasn't clear on Vrbo, but i was certainly expecting 2 tubs/showers!That being said, we would stay there again!Ed

Place was nice, neighborhood seemed somewhat sketchy but no problems. Would have liked to have known that 2 of the bedrooms were up 2 flights of stairs. Also, the only shower is upstairs. Host was very responsive, and streetcar was super close to walk to It would have been nice to have some paper towels, foil, and food wrap, but all in all it was a good stay.
