About this property
Newly-remodeled cabin, walk into town or to Lodge! Gorgeous views & great wi-fi!
Enjoy the beautiful views from our gorgeous, recently-renovated -- new floors, granite countertops, stainless appliances, and sectional sofa -- cabin home, 'in town' and just a short walk to either Grand Lake or Shadow Mountain Lake. Secluded enough to ensure plenty of peace and quiet, you won't find it unusual to see moose, elk, foxes, and other wildlife feeding on our wildflowers during the morning/evening.
Grand Lake is a quaint historic town that serves as the western 'less-crowded' entrance to Rocky Mountain National Park -- access to the park is a short 100-yard walk from our cabin! -- and provides an abundance of both summer & winter activities. Golfing, boating, swimming, fishing, water-skiing, jet-skiing, downhill skiing, cross-country skiing, snowmobiling, kayaking, hiking, horseback riding, along with the many restaurants, ice cream shops, gifts shops, live theater, and social events in town make this an ideal summer vacation.
Our 2BR/2BA home can accommodate up to 6 adults, has been equipped with designer bedding & hand-selected furnishings to convey a 'contemporary rustic' feel. The master bedroom offers a queen bed w/ private bath, the 'kids' room offers a twin/full bunkbed with trundle, and the new sectional sofa in the family room. For those who want to stay connected we have our own free wi-fi connection for you to enjoy fast and secure browsing and streaming.

About the host
Hosted by Joe & Casey Kigin

Originally from the East Coast, my husband Joe went to CU for graduate school when we were dating. We fell in love with Colorado and after visiting Grand Lake while he was here we knew we were destined to make Colorado our eventual home. We moved to CO in 1997, raised our kids (Son 27, Daughter 23, Daughter 21), who had the pleasure of being able to spend the summers & holidays of their childhood being "raised" up at Grand Lake, going to nearby YMCA Summer Camps and attending the Grand Lake Youth Theatre Workshops, and make Grand Lake the focus of our immediate and extended family get-togethers. Wherever life takes us we know that we will always come back to Grand Lake as our "Happy Place".
Why they chose this property
As we started raising our family we would come up to Grand Lake several times a year & one time on a horseback ride that went above town we rode through a quiet neighborhood that had several new cabins that had great lake views and was walking distance to town. We fell in love with our cabin for the peace of mind of it being newly-built, having private unblocked views of Shadow Mountain Lake and of the Never Summer Range. Inside it provided the cozy feel we were looking for while being able to provide all of the modern amenities we felt we and our customers would enjoy in a home away from home. Being able to walk down into town (10-15 min) or up to the Grand Lake Lodge (5-7 min), down to the Lake(s) (10 min), and being a short 2-min drive from the main entrance to Rocky Mtn Nat'l Park, as well as the many other opportunities provided in the area for summer/winter recreation only add to the appeal of providing a more enjoyable vacation than going to Summit County & Estes Park.
