Lemmon Lodge: Waterside retreat, great lake and mountain views, close to town
This cozy, centrally located cabin is nestled in the pine trees, with a trout stream (kayakable) that empties into Grand Lake out the back door. The cabin sleeps 6 with 2 bedrooms (a queen size bed in one, a full size bed in the other with electric mattress pads and down comforters!), while the living area has two rocking recliners and a queen size sofabed couch with a memory foam mattress. It is well-appointed with a modern kitchen (refrigerator with ice maker, microwave, oven/range, dishwasher, Keurig coffee maker). Wood paneled walls and ceilings with wood floors throughout. Dining table seats 4 (6 with leaf) with 4 more places at the breakfast bar. Bathroom with tub/shower and cable tv in living room. Cozy up with the gas stove while enjoying the views of the mountains, lake and stream through the large windows on 3 sides. Keep an eye out for the neighborhood fox and moose!
Year round you can enjoy downtown Grand Lake with shopping, restaurants and entertainment, antiquing, live musical theater in Grand Lake, museums, and nearby fitness center, health/beauty spa, and basketball. And, of course, wildlife viewing (esp., moose, elk, deer, fox).
Summer visitors can enjoy boating, rafting, kayaking, sailing, water-skiing, lake swimming, fishing, golf, tennis, biking, mountain biking, dirt biking, hiking, hunting, rock climbing, horseshoes, miniature golf, horseback riding, and hot air ballooning. And the Rocky Mountain Repertory Theater has a great summer schedule of Broadway musicals. So much to do...so little time!
Snowmobilers can sled in/sled out (snow permitting) to enjoy the snowmobile capital of Colorado, with over 100 miles of trails. Grand Lake is at the west entrance of Rocky Mountain National Park with cross country skiing and snowshoe trails galore. World class downhill skiing and snowboarding at Winter Park only 35 miles away and Steamboat Springs 93 miles down the road, with Sol Vista, a small local ski hill, just outside Granby, about 15 miles. Or enjoy the hot springs at Hot Sulphur Springs, a mere 23 miles from town. Or stay in the area and enjoy the many activities at Rocky Mountain National Park and in town during the winter, especially during Christmas and New Year's. Don't miss the holiday show at the Rocky Mountain Repertory Theater and the New Year's Eve celebration with frozen fireworks.
Come enjoy the crisp, clean air, beautiful starry nights, and majestic views of Grand Lake and Mount Baldy at our little slice of heaven. (please, no pets and no smoking!)

It was great weather to sit up on the rooftop deck and have lunch and play cards in the sun. The cabin is great and was nice to walk into town and up and down Grand Ave. Great time!
The location was perfect, with easy access to the lake. The place was cozy and charming, thoughtfully stocked with everything we could need. We would happily stay here again.
Perfect location! Walk to town. Cabin is cozy and has everything you need for a great stay! The owners have thought of every little detail to make this cabin comfortable.
This cabin was absolutely perfect. The place was comfortable, the river view super relaxing, and the location convenient and lovely. Cannot wait to return.
This was our second stay at the cabin--what a magical place! The location is incredible, the Lemmon Lodge beach is wonderful. The owners are so communicative and helpful. We will be back again for sure.
The perfect little cabin for my family’s last minute mountain getaway. The layout of the house was great and the location even better. The host was wonderful and went above and beyond to take care of us
We have been at this cabin several times now and it never disappoints. The location is incredible and we always have the best time. We also noticed the new stove/oven this year, very nice! We are already booked for next year and may go twice next year.
This was a perfect place to reflect and spend time with your thoughts, and a good book. The view outside the living area windows are what dreams are made of.

About the host
Hosted by Jeannette McDonald
Hi! We are Don and Jeannette, empty nesters and learning to enjoy our second childhood. We met in college, though never dated, went our separate ways, had families and careers. In 2009 Don showed up at Jeannette's office to tell her that he'd loved her for 35 years. Life conspired to bring us together and now we're exploring anything and everything life has to offer…often together!
Why they chose this property
Don currently lives in Colorado and Jeannette lives in Wisconsin. We were looking for a place where we could enjoy Colorado treasures. We were intrigued with Grand Lake because of the laid back town, the proximity to Rocky Mountain National Park, and all the recreation possibilities in the area. When we saw this cabin on the water (great for kayaking, which we love) and so close to the main street in town, we couldn't believe our luck. We are thrilled with our purchase and we're willing to share our piece of heaven with you!
What makes this property unique
First and foremost we are in awe of the views of the mountains, lake, river, and trees surrounding the cabin. And, as they say, everything is location, location, location! On the lake and only two blocks from town!!??!!! Incredible. Next we were impressed with the quality of the cabin. Wonderful workmanship, nicely finished and modernized. We just can't believe that we are lucky enough to be able to own this part of paradise.
