Offensive Odor
Upon entering the home, we immediately smelled a foul odor. The odor was strongest in the 2 main bedrooms. I spoke with the on-site property manager about the odor and invited him in to see/smell for himself. He did not take me up on my offer. I emailed the owner. What followed were several emails back and forth between the owner and me. Parts of the emails concern me so I will choose my words carefully. If VRBO is interested in the emails, please contact me. The offensive odor was the ONLY issue I had with this VRBO rental. After purchasing scented candles, air freshener spray and a bleach spray cleaner, the odor was masked sufficiently to remain in the rental.
The rental home itself, the amenities and condition of the home were very nice. I don't agree that the view is a million-dollar view, but beauty is in the eyes of the beholder. It was a nice view. The rental is close to Granby Lake Village (food, shopping and fun activities), hiking trails, fishing and much more.
My overall rating for this rental 9/4 - 9/6, is average (3-star). It would be minimum 4-star or higher if it wasn't for the offensive odor. I invited the owner to walk through the home with me, she decided not to. With a thorough cleaning, sanitization and carpet cleaning, this VRBO rental is definitely an excellent family vacation spot. My only regret is the owner and I didn't come to agreement on the source of the odor or that an odor even existed.
