The Cabin is easy to get to, very quiet, cabin is very clean, has interesting books to read about the area, the Cabin is ranch style, and has local map of the area trails. My husband saw a deer across the road on the first day. We had a great stay.

We booked the cabin and bunkhouse for a weekend in September and thoroughly enjoyed our time! My 3 adult kids lodged in the main cabin while the bunkhouse was perfect for myself and dog. The neighbors and road were very quiet, the firepit and indoor fireplaces were appreciated and cozy. We made great use of the fenced in portion of yard for our pup and were thankful for the fans in each bedroom and welcome snacks on the table. This is an older cabin, but comfortable and a great location to enjoy the best of up north Michigan! Would definitely dtay again!

We had a great time at the cabin. There is plenty of room for 6 people if needed and the small fenced in area was great for the dogs. The cabins location was perfect for our trip. 5 minutes from the Main Street of Hillman and about 30 mins from Alpena. I’m not great at writing reviews so look at the other reviews for more info. I agree with all the good things others have said.

The hosts were absolutely phenomenal! Could not ask for better experience with them. The only concern we had was the grass was extremely tall. Cabin was extremely cute and decorated great. Loved it. Would stay here again!!

This was my second time staying here this year. Hopefully a couple more in the not too distant future.For the ORV folks it’s only about 400 yards down the road to the trail head. Plenty of room to park a trailer and unload at and ride from the cabin.And there’s a nice fire pit out back.

Perfect group getaway

Amazing for the whole family more than enough space inside and out, trails all over to walk very pet friendly highly recommend staying we will be going back for a hunting trip this fall!

Great spot to get away. If you’re about 6 foot be careful though, had to spend the trip dogging the beams, but couldn’t have asked for a better place to rest my head at night.

We were in the area for a family reunion. Pine Oaks gave us a quiet retreat in the woods to relax and unwind after the festivities. The place is comfortable and well stocked. The owners, James and Alisa, were very good communicators and left plenty of information about local attractions

Great getaway

Away from the hustle and bustle of life. Perfect for our long weekend with our dogs. Close enough for us to go explore and attend wedding in Alpena. Far enough to have our quiet time together.

Great cabin

The cabin had lot's of nice touches and fun stuff to look at. It was a quite and relaxing place to come back to after a day of fishing. The fire pit area was perfect for hanging out and making smores. The cabin is close to a lot of great outdoorsy stuff. All in all, we had a great mini-vacation and will consider staying there again next time we head up to Fletcher's for fishing.

We came to ride trails. Trail to Atlanta was open, Hilman trail was close half way there. We had a great time and weather. The cabin was conveniently located near the Atlanta south trailhead. The cabin was ok, the beams are low so if youre tall watch your head.

Very Cozy, plenty of essentials. Towels, sheets, blankets, all dishes, etc. James and Alisa respond quickly. The area is beautiful. The Hunters Cabin was awesome to have quiet times away from the rest of the group. Being in the woods is so peaceful.THANK YOU!

Thanksgiving/Hunting Get-A-Way!

This cabin was the perfect cabin for my family. We spent thanksgiving there which the kitchen was fully supplied with cooking accessories to cook the meal. The living room was very spacious for all of us to hang out. The cabin is surrounded by state land , so we did not have to go far. It was perfect for what we needed it for and very affordable.

Great communication

The owner was very prompt on communication. It was nice to stay at a home that had multiple options for sleeping and a shower that had a shower head that could fully rinse your body.Fully equipped with kitchen and eating utensils. We like the games they offered too.

This was overall a great place to stay. We really enjoyed that there was no television. It caused us to take time to read and just talk. Unfortunately it was raining, so no camp fire, but there was a beautiful area for one. I would recommend and would use this location again.

Cozy cabin

Cozy cabin in a quiet area. There are neighbors but very quiet ones, never saw anyone else. Loved that there was limited cell service as my kids actually played games in the evening with us. And great that the owner left a stack of games as I didn’t think to pack any. Teenagers enjoyed having their own space in the hunters cabin. Definitely a huge step up from the tent camping we usually do.
