Beautiful new cabin that has all the amenities you need. The beds are very comfortable and the views are amazing. It is centrally located for hiking and exploring the outdoors between Buena Vista and Salida. We loved staying at the Silver Trout Lodge and hope to visit again!
We stayed here for our annual UTV riding trip from KS. It was the perfect location, house was in mint condition, along with the perfect location. Great parking for trailers as well. The house smelled liked new, with no added fragrances or scents etc. added bonus!
House and location was perfect for our family. House was clean and spacious. It was a huge bonus that dogs are welcome. Just what we needed to get the whole family together for the Holidays. Host was wonderful with great communication.
Absolutely fantastic house. Plenty of room to spread out and relax. 5 minutes to Mt. Princeton hot springs. So much to do around Buena Vista. Great lakes to explore.
Highly recommend.
The property was well-kept and the owners have been thoughtful about set-up and communication throughout the home. The views are amazing and location is perfect for access to the mountains, Princeton Hot Springs, Buena Vista, and Salida. Sunrises and sunsets were something we looked forward to each day. We made good memories in this home!
Plenty of room. Absolutely breathtaking views of Mt. Princeton. Perfect location to ski either Monarch or Cooper. Both are hidden gems not crowded with great quality snow. House is roomy, well stocked, cozy and comfortable in zero degree weather. We love mt Princeton hot springs. Four of us skied monarch every day and conditions were fabulous. We had dinner at Mary Murphy steakhouse one night and

We were glad you and your grandson were able to enjoy your getaway! Come back anytime.
After researching many properties around Buena Vista and Salida, I settled on Silver Trout Lodge. The pics of the surroundings were spectacular. We were 10 minutes from Buena Vista, 20 min from Salida, 2 hours South of Denver, and about 2 West of Manitou Springs (Pikes Peak). This was centrally located to our rafting, climbing, hiking, and biking trips, and more food choices than we could ever need.
The Lodge was even better than expected. We travelled with 2 dads and 5 high school graduates for their senior trip. The kitchen was well-equipped with plenty of utensils and cookware to prepare for these boys. The gas grill was in clean and in excellent condition. All linens, towels, soap and shampoo was provided. For our evening down time, the TV was great with tons of programming and the ability to log in to your own streaming networks. WiFi was more than enough.
Every morning, we opened the front door to the best view in Colorado, Mt Princeton. The moon sets behind it and gives it's outline a beautiful illumination. The sun rises behind the lodge with an equally awesome sight.
Our outings included: Pikes Peak and Garden of the Gods in Manitou Springs, Rafting on the Arkansas River with Performance
Tours, Exploring the town of Buena Vista and hiking the surrounding trails along the Arkansas River, Relaxing in the Mineral Pools at CottonWood Spas, Hiking Cottonwood Pass, visiting St Elmo ghost town, and more!
Will return next year with the wife! Jon from SC
