About the host
Hosted by Becky Meyring
After 20 + years of pharmaceutical sales in the Texas Panhandle and then 10 years managing an equestrian facility in Colorado, I retired and moved back to Texas. I love remodeling old buildings, so when the opportunity to buy SC came along, I jumped on it. SC may be my favorite so far. I also raise a few horses, try and show reining horses when I can and I love pretty much all dogs.
Why they chose this property
The Super Chief was a streamlined passenger train operated by the Atchison, Topeka and Santa Fe Railway from Chicago, Ill to Los Angeles, CA from 1938 to 1971. Super Chief leaves behind a legacy of being a luxurious, efficient passenger lines to cross the western plains. As I renovated this refrigerated boxcar, I wanted to keep that legacy alive and create a space that combines the spirit of the west with modern day conveniences.
Guests are welcome to pet horses and donkeys if and when they come up to the fence. I would appreciate it if you didn't cross into their pasture though.
The property is in the "country" so to speak. There are horses and donkeys in the pasture. 4 dogs live here as well. They are all very friendly. More often than not, they will watch you drive in and then go back to taking their naps at the house. Horney toads, lizards and a random snake may appear from time to time in the summer. You may hear the occasional coyote howling at night in the distance.

What makes this property unique
SC is approximately 11 miles from the Palo Duro Canyon State Park. It is just 2 miles from I27 that runs from Amarillo to Lubbock, TX and is 4.5 miles from West Texas A&M University. EC sits on eastern edge of 70 acres were you will likely see several horses and miniature donkeys out grazing. Although, most of the Texas Panhandle is not known for its scenery, if you look west in the evenings you are sure to catch a beautiful sunset that stretches on and on.
There is ample parking in front of the boxcar after you pull in driveway.
