Casa De Helen Super Fun & Nice

The house is beautiful and well kept with all the furnishings we needed. The pool and hang out areas so close to the great beach were awesome, and a couple days we walked down the beach to good restaurants for dinner. So the house and beach meant our rental car stayed parked much of the time making for a relaxing vacation.

Lovely location with an amazing view!

We traveled from Wisconsin, Pennsylvania and Alaska ( 3 siblings and a couple of spouses ) to spend some time together. We had a wonderful stay with a perfect location with everything we needed within close proximity. It was truly a little gem nestled in along the beach. The house is well kept by Carmen and Jesus. Jen provided a wonderful guide with useful information and tips about the area. I would highly recommend Casa de Helen!

This place exceeded our expectations. Online pictures don't do it justice. Beds were super comfy - not always the case, we've found, with Mexican accommodations.

Better than pictured!

Casa Helen is a magical place! The property is located on the most wonderful bay. It is an authentic outdoor living experience. We felt like we were in a treehouse on the top floor of the house. It is very clean, comfortable and enchanting.

Great Trip and House

Fantastic house, right on the water. Could walk to the point to surf every morning. Our little kids had a blast catching toads and hermit crabs at night (and playing with the cats). Carmen and Jesus were there every day to clean and make the place beautiful. Great vacation.

Our stay at Casa de Helen

We enjoyed our time at Casa de Helen, and overall we thought the property was well kept and very comfortable. Unfortunately, the construction going on directly next door was very disruptive and made it hard to enjoy the property from 6am-6pm. It would've been nice to have been warned of the jack hammering and concrete dust. Regardless, the property was nice and we will certainly consider staying again whenever in Troncones.

Magical Slice of Heaven

We absolutely loved our stay at Casa de Helen. The minute we stepped onto the property we felt like we were home in a tropical paradise. The open air living was so refreshing and the breeze from the Ocean kept our days cool and our eyes glued to beautiful sunsets from the porch. Jen was very response to our needs and the staff was so friendly and kept the casa spotless! All the restaurant recommendations were spot on and super helpful as we learned to navigate Troncones. My husband and son were able to surf everyday at the point and various breaks around the area. My youngest enjoyed many hours in the pool and my daughter loved searching for shells in the tide pools at low tide. The beds were very comfortable and being able to shower and peek out at the ocean was amazing! We also appreciated having hot water in the showers and fresh towels everyday! We will be back and recommend this amazing home if traveling with other couples or your family!

40th in Troncones

This place totally exceeded my expectations! In fact there have been some minor upgrades since the pictures were posted that make it that much more special. The property and house is unreal. Amazing views from every room. Huge backyard with the pool and multiple sitting and lounging areas. The pool was really nice since it wasn't heated and it is quite humid in Troncones (feels like 40). The kitchen has all the utensils etc you will need but you need to provide all the basics (salt and pepper, oil, spices). Buy everything outside of town for a lot more option. Veg and fruit truck comes by the house in the morning which is way more fresh than town. We rented bikes from Adriana next door to get into Troncones (too hot to walk). Chencho's, Antonio's, Martha's and Brisas Mexicana were AMAZING! Carmen was lovely and cooked for us as well which is mouth watering thinking about it. She was also helpful with questions and setting up massage and pedicures etc. I can not wait to go again. This house is a must. Erica

Thanksgiving getaway

Overall, we had a nice stay. The house was larger than we needed with 3 good sized bedrooms including a third floor suite that we didn't end up using. The bedrooms and bathrooms are all well appointed and the bed was comfortable. The house is cleaned daily except on Sundays. The main floor is completely open to the outdoors, which was nice during the day but means there is no option to keep mosquitos and other critters out of the main living space. We had to put all of the food in the oven at night to keep raccoons from snacking in the kitchen. We were vacationing with our small children and felt a bit uneasy about the complete inability to lock the house at night while we were sleeping. By all accounts, the area is very safe, but with the property extending right up to the beach, we would have slept more soundly if there was an option of locking off the upper floors. The house comes with 2 cats, we were not expecting this and one of us is allergic--but it was not an issue due to the fact that everything on the main floor is open. Finally, the property is very nice and spacious but is surrounded on one side by a B and B that was rowdy the week we were there, and on the other side by a private residence with multiple dogs that barked at night. The owner/property manager was very responsive and helpful, helped arrange transportation and promptly dealt with one minor water issue that came up while we were there. Overall, a lovely property but probably not the perfect fit if you are traveling with young kids and, like me, are a light sleeper.

Exceeded expectations

The property is gorgeous, right smack on a beautiful beach in a sleepy surfer town. The caretaker of the property, Carmen and son, were super friendly and accommodated our every request including cooking us breakfast and dinner. The property owner, Jen, was very responsive to emails, and the property was reasonably priced. Property was luxurious and included private parking and a decent sized swimming pool. Everyone in my family was impressed. I’ve already recommended the spot to a couple friends.

Great Spot!

We had an amazing week at Casa Helen! The pictures do not do the house justice. We loved the pool and the beach and having a very comfortable and well appointed house. We will be back!

Awesome stay

We had a really good time in Casa de Helen. The property is amazing with superb location, the front beach is excellent for enjoying the sea and afterwards go relax at the big palapa in the house yard. Staff is super friendly, Carmen and Jesus. Jesus played with my kids and they loved him. It is a place we definitely consider for future stays. Thanks, Jen!

Bonita casa, excelente mantenimiento, bella vista

La casa esta muy bonita, muy bien mantenida y equipada, el personal es muy amable. La casa esta abierta así qué hay muchos mosquitos y algunos otros insectos. La alberca es demasiado onda, al menos 1:80mts no tiene un nivel más bajo para los niños así que todos necesitan saber nadar muy bien y la playa no es adecuada para nadar.

Even Better Than The Pictures!

There is nothing like a vacation that exceeds your expectations, especially when they are fairly high going in. We spent two weeks and could have easily stayed two months, the place is so perfect. The first week we had two couples and spent our time surfing out front or just down the beach, lazing in Hammocks, reading books, floating in the pool or splashing in the ocean waves, hitting Rodrigo and Natali's beach bar (Amor Marino Cocktail Bar) for amazing unique cocktails and of course enjoying Carmen's delicious cooking. It was so nice to have the option of having meals cooked for us (and cleaned!) right at the Casa. One night Carmen even organized a local band to come in and play for us during dinner and we turned it in to a bit of a dance party. The second week we had two couples , each with a young child and even with 6 people the place still felt VERY spacious. Lots of room to find your own spot to chill or the whole group could sit together and watch the beautiful sun sets (while munching on Francisco and Carmen's famous Guacamole and sipping a Margarita). We tried Horseback Riding on the beach with Octavio and the kids loved it so much that we did it again. This place works very well for both adults and kids, our son was asking when we were going to come back before we had even left. The weather was pretty much perfect our entire stay, mid 80 degree air and almost as warm of water - I hope Heaven is just as comfortable. We surfed almost everyday and I will always remember my son's first time on a board with me catching waves at Saladita, a super fun left point break about 20 min. up the road. We really felt like we had the red carpet rolled out for us by the staff. The owners are so helpful, answered all of our questions and sent us a VERY detailed pre-arrival information pack that includes excellent restaurant recommendations, (we tried several and we were not disappointed - Johnny's On The Beach and Chenchos were tops, and the ice cream and Cafe Sol was delicious). Upon arrival and during our stay, Carmen and Francisco went above and beyond the call of duty to make sure we had an amazing time, including rescuing us when our car ran out of gas and bringing us special cough medicine for the kids without us even asking for it! We wanted to take them home with us. Muchas Gracias Casa De Helen for one of the best vacations ever!

Perfection!

You could search the world over and not find a more perfect beach house. Everything everyone has said in these reviews is true. The most beautiful beach, Carmen's cooking, plenty to do or not. I wouldn't change a thing. In fact we're going back again soon.Lets keep it a secret!

Wonderful place and perfect for our stay! We had 4 adults and two children (older) and we all had room to be comfortable, "veg out", just "hang". We all went horseback riding which was really fun and interesting! Carmen was wonderful! Two of us had massages with local masseuses and they were wonderful, outside, couldn't ask for better. We bought bread from the bread lady in the morning, we bought silver from the jewelry man, we walked down the beach to Eden for wonderful meals, enjoyed the pool and some or us practiced our Spanish with Diego. We all wanted to put Pepe the cat in our suitcase & take him home. Arranging taxis was not a problem. One day we may return!

Our stay at Casa De Helen was absolutely without flaw. The property is wonderful and well situated. Its obvious that it is maintained with loving care. This was our first trip to this part of the world, usually traveling to Kauai, we will definitely be back! The pictures do not do justice to the beauty of the beach and home. Book your trip soon, because if I figure out a way to book 52 weeks a year, you will have to stay somewhere else...

Beyond Wonderful

Every detail is cared for. Everything is fresh, clean, updated. It is BEAUTIFUL, comfortable. Lots of places to hang and take naps. The gardens, the magic lighting, the pool, the ocean right there.. the bedrooms with doors and air conditioning. Carmen and Diego are the caretakers. They are AMAZING. We felt so CARED FOR. Say YES!
