Beachfront, Laid Back Luxury Penthouse on Beautiful Manzanillo Bay Surf Break

This large, beautiful, 2 floor penthouse, sits on the beach just feet from the ocean. It includes a private rooftop deck that overlooks the sea and surf break at Manzanillo Bay. This private deck is accessed by a stunning spiral staircase, has a cold plunge pool, covered lounge area, wet bar with mini fridge and 360 degree views of the water, sandy beaches, palm trees and mountains. This is the perfect spot to sit and watch the sunset over quiet, Manzanillo Bay.

The penthouse, designed by Enrique Zozaya of Zozaya Arquitectos, has a modern floor plan with the open air living room, dining room and kitchen all under a high palapa roof overlooking the bay. Everything is beautifully decorated with a modern, laid back luxury comfort in mind. There are 2 bedrooms off the main living area-each with king beds, full baths, ceiling fans and A/C. The master bathroom offers an outdoor shower overlooking the ocean- it is quite a unique experience to shower while watching the waves break and one I highly recommend. The second bedroom has a king and a pull out trundle twin bed. A few things to note are that both the penthouse and private deck have stair access only and are not recommended for anyone who has any issues with stairs. Also, since the living area (not the bedrooms) is under an open palapa, that space is open air and depending on the time of year, you may see geckos and some droppings from bats. This is common for any open air spaces in this part of Mexico.

The property offers the perfect destination just a 30 minute drive from Ixtapa-Zihuatanejo International Airport. It is located right on the beach of Manzanillo Bay. There is an expert left surf break at the point and you can watch the surfers while you relax on the couch. The beach is a long expanse of wide sand with swimming and body surfing. There is also snorkeling, paddle and boogie boarding, or just relax by the pool overlooking the ocean and watch for whales. The Residences are located off a quiet beachside road and are walking distance from delicious locally owned restaurants. The Inn at Manzanillo Bay is right next door, so you can have the benefits of the hotel restaurant and bar for delicious drinks and meals anytime that you don't feel like cooking or just want an afternoon ice cream. They also are a great source for local recommendations and have specially curated tequilas, mezcals and mole. They even have bikes and surf boards available for rent!

The town, just a mile away, offers additional restaurant options, markets and a peaceful yoga retreat. Eco-tourism is a popular activity in the area if you are looking for a day away from the beach. This quiet town, with just the right mix of locals and expats, is still undiscovered. Activities include swimming, surfing, paddle boarding, hiking, biking, fishing, horseback riding and long walks on the beach. This is a very beautiful spot, especially if you don't like to be where the crowds are, but still want to have the comforts of many amenities.

Rhythmic Sound Of The Ocean Waves

Michelle's penthouse checked all the boxes for a perfect stay and definitely earns a 10/10 review. The ocean view and soothing wave sound is amazing. From the open air palapa we watched the surfers and occasionally spotted a whale swimming thru. We enjoyed the many excellent village restaurants and recommend the Troncones Cooking School (and restaurant) to learn the ingredients, techniques in traditional Mexican dishes. Wow!

Just spent two weeks here with my wife - all I can say is WOW! The property itself is great - comfortable, well appointed, with spectacular views from the main level and the roof top terrace and plunge pool. The property owner/manager was so helpful and easy to work with and the staff at the Manzanillo Bay Inn next door were wonderful. Already looking forward to going back!

This property is absolutely fabulous. We have stayed in Zihuatenajo for 20 plus years and decided this year we wanted to try Troncones. Michelle’s pictures are exactly what it looks like, for my husband and I it was perfect! The check in process was flawless. I needed an extra blanket and I had it so fast! The staff at the Bay was helpful and the maid service was perfect. All of the information Michelle gave us was so helpful! We can’t wait to come back! Beautiful beach vistas

The place was beautifully appointed with magnificent views of the ocean and bay. Easy access to the beach and had a terrific pool. The kitchen was state of the art. The property owner was extremely helpful and responsive. The only downside was the lack of cell phone service. We had an emergency and two of us had to leave early and the lack of cell ohone service made it very difficult for us to make arrangements.

Truly a treasure by the sea…you should want for nothing as this home is well appointed. Every little detail has been thought out. The pictures do the place justice however, the vibe is what brings the place to life! The views are amazing. The beds are comfortable. The linens are very high quality, and they provide more than enough bath towels, and basic toiletries. The Villa is affiliated with a boutique hotel next door. You have access to the bar/restaurant which makes it very easy if you are not up for trekking out into town for a meal. We ate at least one meal a day @the hotel for convenience. The menu is limited to the best of the best that this chef can offer. Everything we tried was delicious. Safety should always be a travelers concern. We found Troncones to be very safe. This Villa has a parking spot in front of the building. We were in town during the “off season” so we rarely saw anyone. It was quiet and peaceful. Michelle ensured that our stay and all details regarding our visit were clearly communicated. She went over +beyond in every way. Check in +out were effortless. I can only hope anyone booking this property will treat this home, the sea, and Troncones with all the love imaginable. Share your stoke, and leave it in better condition then when you arrived. Wonderful Property

Just a perfect stay all around. Definitely make sure you stock up on groceries if you’re going to cook and don’t have a car, because everything is quite a walk. There are a couple restaurants right nearby but no stores. This property is magical. Cool off in the pool right upstairs on your own deck. Swim in the ocean on a beautiful sandy beach right next door. Surf right in front of the condo! The views are spectacular and the bedding is comfy and high quality. Our stay was too notch. Thank you!

Michelle's place in Troncones is absolutely perfect. From the open air living room to the spiral staircase leading to the top floor pool, this place is perfect for sun, surf and sand. We had such a beautiful, relaxing, and fun vacation. This is the best accommodation in the most perfect spot. We loved watching the surfers in the morning while sipping coffee in our open air living room. Then some yoga, playing in the surf and pool, and delicious dinners in all the fabulous restaurants. Surfing Safari

This was my first time to mainland Mexico to surf and one of my criteria for any surf vacation is to be within walking distance of a surf break. With 3 adult sons in tow you want to have freedom and flexibility to surf as much or little as you want. As stated in the listing, this is right on the surf break. And, as with any new adventure there is always a learning curve of what else is in the area. Michelle was super responsive and gave me a tour guide listing of practically everything I needed to know about the area. I texted her a few times before the trip and a few times over the first couple of days and it was never more than a couple of hours before she got back to me. She is on it. I do have interject my top 3 restaurants: Mijardin (pizza is great and full menu is wonderful) Indigo La Mexicana The property pictures are right on with what you will experience. It is a combination of open air in the main living space with air conditioned bedrooms. We did enjoy retreating to the A/C bedrooms (super chill) after a long day surfing in the summer sun. Overall, a very comfortable and spacious place with great views from every room. Having the hotel next door available was a real bonus, we could charge meals to our condo. Shout out to Caesar, he was very friendly and helpful and Margarita for the daily cleanup. The only problem is I can't stop thinking about when I can go back. Thanks for sharing, Michelle.

Breathtaking place and views!

Michelle's place is every bit as gorgeous in person as it looks in the photos. We had an incredible time, falling asleep to the sound of the surf right out the window, lounging in the deck pool during the heat of the day, and walking on the beach right in front of the property. The property was clean and lovely, and MIchelle was such a generous and helpful host. The restaurant next door was also amazing, so it made it so easy to truly relax and enjoy everything about our stay in Troncones. We would recommend Michelle's place to anyone and will absolutely return there as soon as we can!

Trocones penthouse !!

This place is amazing .. best view of the wave .. from the open air living room/ kitchen ... great pool on the beach . And awesome soaking tub on the roof !!!! Staff is amazing .highly recommend!!! Can’t wait to come back !!!!

We live in Colorado and have been coming to Troncones for the beaches, quiet town and surfing since 1998. We have always loved the area and jumped on the chance to buy our place in 2016 and because we enjoy it so much, we only rent on a limited basis.

Why they chose this property

We bought our place pre-construction in 2016 because we loved Troncones and were looking for a place on the beach. Troncones and Punta Majahua are both quiet, beach towns with excellent restaurants, outdoor activities and beautiful beaches without the crowds of larger, more touristy locations.

What makes this property unique

Our property is right on Manzanillo Bay. There is a beautiful, sandy beach and a top level surf break right out the door. The Residencias are also very private. There are only 14 units total in the whole place and our penthouse has lots of privacy. Also, with the Inn at Manzanillo Bay right next door, you have all the benefits of the 2 hotel restaurants and bar easily accessible to you while also having your own place with a full kitchen, living room and private plunge pool. It really is the best of both worlds and there are not other places that can offer comparable amenities and location in the area.
