Perfect for all seeking the glory of the mountains in a unique & immersive setting.

You’ll soon forget that you’re supposed to be “roughing it.” Enjoy gazing up at the stars at night and taking in the views from right outside the tent and enjoy your personal fire pit or our little waterfall steps away.
Minutes from rafting & kayaking on the Pigeon river or hiking in the National Park with short or longer trails to see waterfalls, bridges over streams, majestic mountain views, and wildlife. Skip the traffic by going the back way to Gatlinburg or take a day trip to Asheville while in the area. Nearby mountain towns of Cosby & Newport offer groceries, restaurants, and unique shops for the perfect souvenir.
No heater? No problem. Because of the porous nature of the tent canvas, space heaters don’t really work to keep the inside warm but it we provide electric blankets to keep you cozy at night and plenty of firewood to keep you warm outside. You’re more than welcome to bring a space heater and use it to keep hands warm if needed. Many of our guests spin their days out and about, and nights around the campfire. But if you must have indoor heating—we get it! Our Airstreams & Geodomes on site do and we would love for you to check them out by clicking on our Wanderlust Woods host page to see all that’s available :-)
Guest access
You’re welcome to explore our 10 acres of property including 900 ft of creek frontage, a hiking trail to the ridge, and mountain views. We ask that you do not enter any other units. No one else has access to your tent (padlocks provided) or your private bathhouse.
Other things to note
We will offer directions that avoid the worst roads but you will encounter gravel and a few ruts coming into the property. Any vehicle can make it fine when taking it slow but a larger vehicle with higher clearance is preferred. Only in winter when there is snow and ice is 4wd required.
We provide coffee, creamer, sugar, snacks, plus all the bedding, towels, soap, TP, etc that you’ll need for your stay.
We share the forest with wildlife including insects, spiders, snakes, black bears, and others. We take precautions to keep your glamping spot as pest-free as possible but in rare situations you still may find some forest friends inside.
We’ve found the bears in the area to be skittish and don’t desire human contact.
The Cosby entrance to the Great Smoky Mountain National Park is 3 mi in one direction, rafting on the Pigeon River is 3 mi in another direction, and we can show you some beautiful fishing spots for bass & trout less than 3 miles from our place.
