Smoketown Jackson, a neighbourhood in Louisville, is home to this holiday home. KFC Yum Center and Louisville Slugger Museum are cultural highlights, and some of the area's popular attractions include Kentucky Kingdom and Louisville Zoo. Looking to enjoy an event or a game while in town? See what's going on at Churchill Downs, or consider a night out at Highland Festival Grounds.
The description of the sleeping spaces didn’t match what was there. The listing said there was a room with 2 bunkbeds and there was one. The other bedroom that was supposed to have a king was a queen.
The stay was great! House was really clean and very updated. Check in and out process was great and we had no problems at all. Will definitely be booking again.
We (2 adults and 2 teenagers) really enjoyed our stay at this place. The beds were comfortable, the patio and fenced in yard were great for our dog. The Roku TV was nice and had Netflix and Hulu. The house was a short drive to downtown, but there was not much within walking distance. The off street parking had enough space for one large car. I recommend this place.
The home is very nice, newly updated, plenty of room for us. However, the location of the home is not in a great neighborhood. The main street is very busy and you hear airplanes all night long. All the bedrooms are upstairs, so if you have anyone with mobility issues, that could be difficult. Overall we enjoyed our stay.
Overall, the property was very nice. Good location for downtown activities. There was plenty of space to spread out, and we enjoyed the backyard, also!
I would recommend the listing be updated. There is no king sized bed in the main bedroom. It’s probably a queen. The king bed was one of the reasons we had decided to book this particular home. Everything else seemed very accurate with the description!

Great yard for dogs
We enjoyed our stay at this house. The back yard is relatively long and narrow and is fenced in. This really helped us manage our dogs during a family reunion. Having 2.5 bathrooms was more helpful than anticipated! There is along table in kitchen/living area plus many stools around the kitchen counter which offered lots of seating. The neighborhood is rundown and I wouldn’t feel comfortable walking around it. The location though is perfect for getting to many sightseeing places such as bourbon tours, etc. Furniture needs updating for comfortableness. We would be happy to come back when the opportunity arises.
We were a little concerned as we drove to the house - I missed the turn and had to drive in circles for a minute and became a little concerned about being downtown, buy my fears were unfounded. We felt very safe and secure in this house. It had a lot of space and was well stocked and very clean. The location is great for conferences at the nearby conference center. Loved having the students in one house, made for good group discussions and late night card games. Would stay here again. Only issue I had is that I read 'two bunk beds' as two bunk (a bunk has two beds) beds , so thought that would hold 4 people, but thankfully there were two extra mattresses in the master closet that we were able to use, and it all worked out well. There are a few small markets nearby but I also did a walmart delivery and that was super easy. Great host, great spot, would recommend.
We booked four nights at this property. We were a little concerned about the area when we arrived. The house itself was beautiful and very comfortable. The first night was fine. The second night there were gunshots behind the property and one minute later a spray of gunshots in front of the property, and for the safety of my family and grandchildren we received a police escort to the highway to find alternative accommodations. I brought this to the attention of the owners representative who assured me safety of their guests was their priority. They apologized profusely, and we stayed in a hotel for the next several nights. I contacted the representative when we returned home and I was continually told the owner was out of town and unavailable. Eventually, I was offered a partial refund for our trouble. The refund never came, and the representative stopped responding to my requests to speak to the owner directly or to receive the refund I was promised. I don’t do business that way, and did not appreciate the way I was treated after our experience. Like I said, the house itself is absolutely lovely. However, this host claims to care about their guests, but when they had the chance to do the right thing chose to ignore me. I would not rent from this host again in the future.
