Nice, newer place offering spacious accommodations conveniently located for skiing. It is just a short drive to the slopes. The hot tub was nice to have after skiing and the view of the mountains was great. Seems like they were still figuring out some things with the appliances but not that big of a deal.We went during an ice storm and the rental company was easy to reach before and during our trip.
With all due respect to John, I left a 5 star review because I knew it would be 5 stars had we had the opportunity to stay in it. One hour from our destination, we were contacted by Carolina Cabins that the pipes froze in the cabin and our stay was cancelled. That is a whole other story. We were so disappointed Mother Nature took our trip the extra mile. I am sure it is a beautiful cabin and the location was perfect. I hope others have enjoyed their stay since the pipes were defrosted and operable. Maybe next year...
The cabin is very new and immaculate. Lots of room to spread out. Located on Sugar Mountain on a quiet street. Nice long range view of mountains. Centrally located to all the many things to do in the area.
We had a great stay at the house! Our family of 5 had plenty of room and really enjoyed the hot tub. The only thing I would suggest different is to add a few more cooking supplies to the kitchen like cooking oil. I would definitely stay again!

Around 1pm on the day we were supposed to arrive, we received a voicemail from Carolina Cabin Rentals that we would be unable to stay in the cabin we had reserved. They could not tell me why. I was presented with two replacement options, both of which cost more money, and one of which was significantly further out of town. We did end up deciding to stay at their Hidden Hawk property in the same general area for 3 of the 4 nights we had initially booked. While the house is in a great location, the property itself is in need of a serious deep cleaning and maintenance update. All of the lightbulbs in the house are mixed between incandescent and CFL bulbs and seem to all give off drastically different shades of light. A couple of the bathrooms also had burned out bulbs over the vanities. However, the worst problem was the bugs everywhere. Upon arrival, we were greeted by dead ants all over the floor around the door to the back deck. After brining our stuff inside we quickly realized there were ants and other bugs all over the house, even giant ants crawling out of the drains in the master bathroom! For the price and location, you can definitely find better maintained options from other companies.
We loved the cozy rustic cabin. It was definitely as advertised. The hot tub was a perk that we definitely enjoyed. Close proximity to the ski slopes. Everything was great two things. I will say, though, there was trash in the trashcan when we got there with no extra trash bags, and the dishwasher was full? Other than that, it was amazing!!!!!

Thank you so much for the feedback. We are thrilled that you enjoyed the home and we cannot wait for a revisit so we can welcome back to our home.
The first property had no heat or water so after carrying everything in we had to reload cars to go to another property. The assistant we called had an attitude and didn’t seem overly interested in helping us. My car got stuck on the ice in the steep driveway and I had to call AAA to help me out. When we got to the second property it was a much loeer quality place. The downstairs was extremely cold and we could not get it warmed up so my daughter and I had to sleep with four blankets on top of us and we were still cold. There were food particles all over the microwave and the floors were dirty. The second property wasn’t worth what they charged us, but we didn’t really have a choice cause we needed somewhere to stay. I asked that we be compensated for the inconvenience of having to reload the car and move, with an infant, to a different location, but they only provided a very minimal discount of 70. We were very disappointed in the service we got from Carolina cabins.

Hi Bonnie thank you for the feedback. We do apologize that the heat was not working properly at the original home when you arrived. I was heartened by our response times and reaction to the issue. From the time you reported the issue until the time you entered your new home( that you chose among several options we sent) was right at an hour. I might remind you that at this time the region was under severe winter temperature warnings with temps well below zero. Temperatures that unusually low nearly all systems , especially heat pumps will struggle to keep a home 70 degrees plus. I will also remind you that you were refunded the difference in price between the two homes. Regarding the compensationThe amount refunded was very commiserate with the "inconvenience" associated with moving to a fairly close home. Again we are very sorry that the heat system failed at your first home but again we responded promptly and after perusing the correspondences with our staff, and it appears very professionally. We do regret that you left feeling otherwise.
