Great place . enjoyed using the canoe right into the canal and out to the mangrove area. Hudson is much quieter less hectic than the Fort Meyers area.

Winter Get away

This place was great. Property is situated on a canal. We sat in the screened in porch during the morning and evening. Watch a dolphin and manatee swim by. Location is close to a lot of attractions and restaurants. Enjoyed the history of the house. Property owners were easy to communicate with. We would definitely stay here again.

We had a fabulous time at the Hudson cottage. Everyone morning while Enjoying our breakfast on the deck we saw different birds including a bald eagle. Within the first hour we saw a cow manatee with her calf! The decor of the cottage might be a bit dated but it was incredibly clean and we were so comfortable there we were calling it home!

Easy and clean

House was clean and easy to check in to. Water is hot, bathrooms are clean, fully stocked kitchen with everything you need, plenty of towels in the house too. Washer and dryer came in handy and are very nice machines. Location is in a nice quiet neighborhood close to several good bars/restaurants. Kayak and canoe were fun to go fishing in the canals with, caught a few trout and snapper. Lots of sheepshead around dock pylons. Would recommend and would stay again!

We had many issues with this rental. Very musty on arrival. Not the area as we expected, many unexpected trailers in area, plastic on windows downstairs, fridge did not cool after 3 days on high we did loose some food. No storage space in kitchen full of old dish ware. Floating dock needs work. It did have its charm lots of new trow pillows that were needed on hard furniture, however if I had seen the old and dirty mattress cover before taking it off when leaving we would have never stayed.

Not maintained well for the cost. No instructions on how to use anything at the house or what's in the local area. Didn't get instructions on how to get into the house on arrival. We needed to call VRBO and another company to get the code. Dishwasher was broke and we learned it was in a previous review months earlier. 1 of three TVs worked, initially. The maintenance guys figured out the TV on the porch when they came. Ceiling fans needed a dusting the downstairs office is not as usable as the pictures indicate. Not a walkable property, great location if you don't mind driving a bit. The canal was nice and we saw manatees in the water and fish.

Cute little place for a quiet getaway

Great experience staying on canal. Wonderful screened in porch to sip coffee and enjoy happy hour. Had a couple issues, but host/mgmt co was very responsive and helpful. Kayaking was a highlight. Hudson itself not a great beach location, but SunWest (man made beach) 5 min away and $5 parking fee. Check out Tarpon Springs for beaches and shopping (30 min away).

Family get away

We enjoyed staying at this property. It was nice to be able to use the kayaks and paddle out to the gulf were we saw dolphins swimming. There is a grocery store near by. The house had everything needed for our stay. The TV on the screened deck was a plus to be able to relax in the evening but still be outdoors.

The house was as discribed, we enjoyed the quite peacefulness of the home and neighbors while our son was able to fish right off the dock. It was nice to have 5 adults and 1 child all under the same roof without the expense of having to rent two hotel rooms.
