Your Seasonal Staffing Affordable "Housing - Destination".
Welcome to this charming, multi - purpose facility nestled amongst a serene setting. This fabulous location is ideal for Spring, Summer or Autumn 30 day or longer stays. Perfect for your local staffing affordable housing needs, or employee team building off- site events and workshops . This facility is equipped with multiple meeting spaces, which easily serves as host for immersive micro - conferences, and seasonal orientation support services you might conduct ,while offering an enjoyable and comfortable stay for all. We are currently accepting reservations for the 2026 calendar year with seasonal pricing based on two tier levels. Our first grouping offers a more economically priced monthly rate for the months of March, April, and November, where various sections of the house are closed off given those areas represent older sections of the house which have no heat. This will limit capacity for monthly leasing to a three - seven person capacity which might be viewed for your start up staffing or closing for your business end of the season needs. Our second seasonal grouping expands the overall capacity for monthly tenants to anywhere from 5 comfortably - 8 during the months of May - October. with slightly reduced privacy. This can be determined by host / owner or individual staffing on the setting they are comfortable in and what is affordable to them. The monthly rate is on a per single bedroom basis, much like a European Hostel business model, by those who elect to make this their seasonal home here on MDI. Guests may reserve for a month or longer. Owner reserves the right to limit guests to a maximum of 8 during the summer or increase slightly, depending on demand. Guests must get along and respect one another. Owner reserves the right to cancel a guests spot in the home with a refund balance if others report conflicts. At our 5 per person level, each guest would have a separate room for their comfort and privacy. These accommodations are available on a first come / first serve basis. For those who are willing to share a room, there are three rooms that can easily accommodate shared room settings, in which the owner will extend a slightly reduced rate to help accommodate demands as they develop. At either seasonal time of year, both the kitchen and two bathrooms are common areas for all guests throughout their stays. This dwelling offers a little bit of everything from older charm as originally constructed in some rooms to modern and updated amenities in other areas of the house. With 5 full beds and 6 twin beds spread across 5 bedrooms, there's plenty of space for everyone to relax and recharge. The 2 bathrooms, one with a single shower and the other equipped with two showers and a tub, ensure convenience for all. Enjoy "Make Yourself at Home" amenities like a washer / dryer on site and up to four refrigerators if needed, including one in an outdoor kitchen equipped with two gas stoves for cooking outside of the main house if preferred for your staff appreciation events. Two large screen TV's and WIFI are on site as well for separate media venues when needed. This home with it's original charm offers two large sitting area's / living rooms with a loft sleeping area. Please note that this old charm area of the house offers a 6'1" - 6'3" ceiling clearance in this area which includes the bathroom areas as well. The remaining first floor offers a fully equipped kitchen and large dining room for seating 10 - 12 comfortably, along with one bedroom off the kitchen for anyone who otherwise would prefer to not do staircases. On the second floor of the older part of the main house you will find three bedrooms that can sleep up to ten people. Enjoy a partially covered patio area that can easily host over 20 people comfortably, which overlooks our 4 acre property with large manicured backyard that otherwise offers you plenty of sun or shade for outdoor relaxation along with outdoor yard games. A gas grill is provided for your conveniences. Our far back yard area is host to an Organic farming footprint that features vegetables, herbs and cut flowers on site for touring during educational workshops when scheduled.

Great location slightly dated but roomy and cozy house. You can't beat the proximity to the harbor or acadia. My family had a great experience.

Thank you Kevin. We appreciate your comments as well as your staying at the house as our Final Guest for the 2024 season. Comments regarding observations for improvments and or where the house fell short on areas of comfort really help us compile the priority areas to focus on for the future. We've initiated some of the noted areas to improve and will make strides in making the home even better going forward. It was a delight to have you and your family.
Old charming house at 5 min of Bar Harbor downtown. Plenty of place for 6 peoples. We really enjoyed our stay.

Thank you Carl. It was a pleasure having you and we're delighted the house contributed to your vacation visit being that more enjoyable. We're adding modifications here and there, while protecting that "Old - House Original Charm" at the same time, which is a challenging balancing act. Thank you again for your kind words.
We all enjoyed staying in this house which is very close to Bar Harbor. It is a big house equipped with all necessary things.

We're pleased the home helped to compliment our guests vacation plans. Their feedback on questions and areas the house could use added attention to detail are most helpful towards efforts on our end to make the home even more enjoyable for others.
My friends and I stayed here while we spent four days hiking and rock climbing around the national park.
The location was perfect and allowed us quick and easy access to the different areas of MDI. We were not in the house too much but it worked perfectly for what we needed.

So many guest stays over the generations. It is nice to see how others are enjoying their MDI / ACADIA experiences in their home away from home.
We loved having a big house for our big family and enjoyed the character of the home. It had everything we needed, and our host was responsive, helpful and kind. Proximity to Bar Harbor and Acadia were incredible. There were some things that need to be fixed, but overall we enjoyed our stay.
The house easily accommodated my group of 12 people with plenty of space outside to relax and hang out. The house was about 10 minutes from downtown Bar Harbor and the Acadia entrance.
This place fit our large group well and we knew going in that the place was outdated, we felt it was adequately represented by their listing. The owners responded quickly and were very helpful with any need we had, they thoroughly wanted us to enjoy our stay. The best part of this stay was the location! It was so conveniently located to all that Bar Harbor and Acadia has to offer. The price could not be beat!
This place has a perfect location for the town and the National Park. It was perfect for our group of 12. The kitchen and fridges were big enough. We didn't have time to enjoy the patio or the garden.
This property is convenient to Acadia National Park and Bar Harbor. The kitchen was nice for our group to cook breakfast together. The house had lots of spaces to visit and plenty of seating both at the tables and in the common areas. Upstairs had no electrical outlets and smelled musty but we were able to work around the lack of electrical outlets and always travel with air freshener so it was okay.

Family Bar Harbor vacation
Nice location in relation to Acadia National Park and Downtown. The house was large and accommodated our group well, but musty smell in several bedrooms. The mattresses were not very comfortable and the bathtub was dirty upon arrival. The patio area is nice, but having access to a firepit would add to the outdoor area. With a few more updates this would be a perfect rental.

We are grateful for the comments our guests make as we strive towards continued improvements in providing for a vacation stay guests will be pleased with. The firepit additoon is easier said than done due to tight restrictions on open fires on Mount Desert Island, however, this suggestion does bring forth perhaps our considering more of a gas fire pit that would prevent sparks during our often dry summers and one in which we will give considerations towards for added safety and ease of use surrounding this added ambiance.
The house might be outdated but the location is a 5-star. Place is fit for all ages, our teens enjoyed their time away from their overbearing parents and hanged in the living room or in the upstairs bedroom. There is also a room if you are considering an elderly to bring on your trip. I kept in touch with Ronald, the host, during our whole stay coz I couldnt giving him praises for taking my group in. Definitely coming back to this place, outdaated or not--the important part is that, we made memories here.
Oh, and only a 6 minute drive to town.
Thanks again Ron!!!

This is most kind of you to say and share. We are delighted your group was able to spread out and find their own spots to relax and recharge. A number of upgrades to this property will be added as we continue to monitor the reviews and make plans for others to come for a spell and "Make family Memories of their own." Thank you so much.
This is an older home, but I knew that when booking. We thought is was fun to stay in this house, because it was unusual--my kids felt like they kept finding new places to explore. There is one bedroom on the main floor and the rest of the beds are up different staircases. We only used one part of the house (no outlets) but we didn't mind charging our phones downstairs. Everything was clean and the well stocked. My kids loved pretending they were kings and queens, because they had some antique looking furniture that seemed really fancy to them. It was a perfect place for us while we hiked and explored Acadia National Park. We didn't have any problems with ants or rodents like I read in other reviews. We would stay here again!
This house was right outside of Bar Harbor. Very easy to find and the check in and check out process was great. The house is very big with plenty of room for everyone. It's an old house with that is quite outdated, but functional for a big group. There are no electrical plugs in the upstairs, which was not a big deal for us. There is a great patio and back yard. The only negative our whole group had was the beds. They were terrible. Very old and need to be updated. Every one of us tossed and turned all night because they were so bad. If they spend a little money and updated mattresses, this would have been our favorite stay of our trip.

We are very appreciative of our guest not only selecting the home as their home away from home for their stay, but for their honesty in their review as a first season host.
Comments on the bedding were the first we had heard about, this season after numerous reservations but are most duly noted and will be taken into account for upgrades which we'll certainly be happy to make in order to insure additional comforts going forward.Thank you to our guests for calling this observance to our attention.
We loved the proximity of this property to Bar Harbor, just a short ride when we wanted to head into town. The owner is very easy to contact and was happy to answer any questions that I had. We had a very minor issues with the towels in the home not being completely dry, this was a very easy fix, since there is a washer and dryer on premises. It was no problem for us at all. We were a smaller group than originally planned due to the hurricane in North Carolina and several people contracting COVID. We had several friends of our group (Palmer Station, Antarctica alumni) who live on MDI, so we invited them over for a nice group dinner. The large dining room was perfect to accommodate the ten of us, and there was plenty of room in the kitchen for several of us to work at the same time. The house was spotless when we arrived. It was good for me that one of the bedrooms is on the ground floor as my medical issues make it tough for me to climb stairs.
I would definitely stay at this house again, should we ever have another reunion.

Not what we expected.
We arrived to find the home closed up and very musty. We immediately encountered cockroaches. Although the host responded they were taking care of it, as of checkout, the problem persisted. Both bathrooms are downstairs, side by side, with open shelving between them. The glaze on the standing tub was worn and it was dirty. We chose to use the bedrooms that were not in the loft, since the loft had old mattresses stacked in it. The stairs were very steep and difficult. Sheets were very thin and there were no mattress pads. Outside was very cluttered and the house is no where near the water as one of the pictures implies. There is a brick pad for a wood stove (the stove is inoperable) right outside one of the bathrooms and everyone stumped their toe at least once. I have used vrbo often and am not a complainer. But this was just too much to let slide. Think twice before renting.

7-night stay w/ good location a few miles from downtown Bar Harbor. The property is large allowing for lots of outdoor play... but there is junk and firewood on the side of the house I would be very concerned for children getting hurt. There are signs that say absolutely no fires so the firewood is really just a nuisance, and I am assuming it adds to the mouse problem in the house. On the day of arrival, I found a large area of mouse droppings and evidence of eating and nesting in the loft area. I ended up cleaning the this up and swept the loft area of dirt and more mice droppings. The loft lighting is very poor relying on small plug in lights and there is a portion that is filled with old spare mattresses.. I was very concerned about what might be living there but decided ignorance is best. The other upstairs area does not have electrical outlets and there is a sign posted saying to charge your phones on main level before retiring.. this created a problem for us due to the need for some medical equipment for 2 people in our party. The kitchen is fairly well equipped, but everything is pretty well worn throughout the house. Some of the sheets were pretty close to thread bare and a couple of pillows stained. The outdoor patio is worn but a large area for gathering. The house is on the main road w/ a lot of traffic noise. There are large ants inside the house, mostly on main level. The owner was aware of the mouse/ant problem and gave us 1 night refund.
