Quaint, clean and comfortable. Ideal location.
BR 1 (1st floor): Queen bed
BR 2 (2nd floor): Queen bed
BR 3 (2nd floor): Queen bed, plus two twin beds
Full bath and 1/2 bath are BOTH on the first floor.
Updated kitchen with gas range, refrigerator, dishwasher, and microwave. The kitchen is equipped with nice pots and pans, silverware, dishes, glasses, a combination K-cup/drip coffee maker.
Private backyard, only partially fenced.
Washer and dryer. (The basement is accessible from the outside of the house only.)
65" smart tv. Xfinity cable channels and
fast Xfinity internet/wifi.
Train tracks are located at the end of the backyard, but lots of trees mask it. (Children especially love the trains!)
Beach wagon and chairs are available for your use.
This is a popular rental, and is typically booked 100% in the summer. I take pride in keeping it fresh and clean.
Very convenient location. Quick and easy walk to Silver Beach, The Whirlpool splash pad, Curios Kids Museum, and downtown.
This is an old cottage but it's kept up and is very clean and comfortable. I'm extremely fortunate to have repeat guests every year and I truly strive to make everybody feel welcome. Nice house and great location

House was a great size for 6 guests. Everything worked great and the hosts made sure the house had everything we needed. And a short distance to the beach and downtown meant we could walk to the beach every day

The property was perfect for our family! We have 5 adult children plus 2 of their significant others and a 17 month old grandson. The backyard was always shaded which was so nice for how hot it was outside. There were plenty of bath towels, toilet paper, paper towels, hand soap, dish soap, garbage bags, spices, sugar, coffee, mustard, ketchup, etc. It really is a 5 minute walk to the beach and not much traffic. The owner was extremely responsive to all of my questions. Shops, restaurants and bars were a 10 min. walk. We would stay there again.

Location can’t be beat. Home is well kept. Upstairs got hot but host promptly coordinated installing a window unit and it cooled down quickly. Kids loved the train track and it turned out to be more of a feature than a nuisance! Would consider staying here again!

Ideal Family Beach Getaway

Clean and cozy, home design allows for lots of room to spread out for 3 adults and 5 kids. Well supplied, very nice kitchen. Appreciated the thoughtful touch of a basket of books for kids and little kid size table. Quiet and peaceful at night. Loved proximity to beach and town, was always cool and refreshing inside! Great outdoor space on the front and back porches with sufficient seating. Convenient parking.

Perfectly located spot

With my parents being retired, this place is perfectly located. They are 1 1/2 from the Bluff and shops while my daughter and fiancé are 1 1/2 blocks from the beach.

Perfect stay!

We loved our stay. Very clean, comfortable, and basics provided (hand soap, dishwasher tabs, toilet paper, etc). Kitchen was well stocked with dishes, pots & pans. Beds were comfortable. Location was perfect, beach was steps away. Walking distance to restaurants and shops. Appreciated the beach chairs and wagon. Will definitely be back!

Great spot!

Nice little house and amazing location! We loved the extra little thoughtful touches the owner provided like K cups and the beach wagon. The kids loved watching the train out back!

Excellent house for us

Family stayed in this house for a wedding nearby and found it so convenient to everything, beach, wedding, shops, restaurants. Clean and well designed. And communication was awesome.

Beach getaway

Great location, close proximity to the beach and businesses in nearby downtown. Houses nearby but very peaceful neighborhood. Train goes by the backyard a few times a day and kids loved it. Hope to come back sometime in the future!

Golf at Harbor Shores

We had a golf weekend at Harbor Shores and the property was perfect. Walking distance to downtown Saint Joseph and only a 6 minute drive to the course. Everything was fantastic and Ken was responsive and easy to work with. Definitely return when in Saint Joseph!

AMAZING Labor Day Getaway

We stayed here over Labor Day and had the best time. The house was great and a perfect location for us to everything. A short walk to the beach and to town. We spent most of our time in the back yard grilling and hanging out as the beach was very windy and the waves were too rough to swim when we were there. Our daughter loved the Choo Choo train that came by a couple of times per day. Ken was very responsive and helpful before, during and after our stay. We will defiantly come back and rent this house again!

Great Summer Stay!

We had an overall great stay! The location cannot be beat. We were able to easily walk to and from the beach, which was perfect with my daughter's nap schedule. The wagon you are able to use is such a nice bonus. Yard isn't fenced in so we didn't spend as much time out there as we thought but again, you're literally 4 min from the beach. Check in/out process was seamless and the property manager was very communicative before and during our stay. Kitchen was pretty much fully stocked and people often leave whatever they didn't use. We had 4 adults and 1 baby staying + space felt perfect for a summer lake rental.

Nice Get Away

House was very comfortable. It had ntetesting both bathrooms on first floor. Loved that kids books available to read to grandson. Beds comfortable. Appliances great. Tv and internet were accessible and easy to use. The only change I would suggest, the neighbors do not park directly behind the driveway. Pretty tricky pulling in and out. Oh, and we actually enjoyed the trains running behind the house.

Town is great, house not so much

St. Joseph is a wonderful destination. The beach, the wine, the climate, the playgrounds, and the views were wonderful. This house was very close to Silver beach, but had little else going for it. There are train tracks just behind the backyard. The trains - sometimes commuter, sometimes freight - run multiple times day and night. If our kids (3 and 1) happened to be sleeping, most of the time they were awoken by the train, which meant we had to calm them down and get them back to sleep. The house is also located next to a main street that leads to the beach, and is traveled by lots of cars throughout the day and evening, many of which (a couple times an hour) were either deliberately loud or had malfunctioning mufflers. The house's second floor (where we slept with our kids) was very difficult to heat at night. There are air conditioning units in the windows of both bedrooms which let a cold draft in at night. Also, not much heat makes it to the second floor. Our baby fared worse because we could not cover her with a blanket like we could with our 3-year old. An ice maker in the freezer would be nice. Filling up trays with water didn't produce ice fast enough. They did have a working Google Home and Netflix subscription, which was useful here and there for our 3-year old. There were beach chairs provided. That was very nice. If you weren't within walking distance of the beach, this location has nothing going for it. It's an old house with many noisy unpleasantries visited upon it per day.

Beautiful home within walking distance to the beach and town. Had everything we needed and even a wagon with chairs and toys for the beach. Nice, large backyard that our dog enjoyed. Super clean home and the perfect size for our family of 7. Definitely recommend this property and will be staying again. 10/10!

COVID-19 UPDATE:
We are taking every precaution to clean and disinfect the house between guests. There will be no shortcuts. Every light switch, counter, fixture, appliance, remote control, etc., will be properly cleaned and sanitized.

This Lake Michigan Cottage is a wonderful beach rental. It's in a great spot-- A quick walk to the beach, town, and all the St Joseph attractions. Catch the Amtrak to Chicago for the day, if you want. Two queens, one full and two twin beds offer a great combination of bedding to fit your group. Please understand this is an old cottage but it's clean, comfortable, and easy to relax in. The backyard has a nice private feel to it.

What makes this property unique

Location. Location. Location. The house is below the bluff which means your toes will hit beach sand in mere minutes. It's great at the start of the day when you can stake out your perfect spot on the beach, AND when you're tired and ready to call it a day. Nobody likes to trudge back home at the end of a long day! Forgot the sunscreen on the kitchen table? No big deal, go back to the house, grab it, and come right back. Use the wagon to haul your chairs and belongings to the beach! Past guests agree -- you'll really appreciate this home's great location.
