About this property

Two Medicine Woman House

Welcome to Two Medicine Woman Home, a unique and thoughtfully curated space featuring Native American art, history, reading materials, and artifacts throughout—many of which originate from our own family roots.

We are offering rooms for rent in this home. The main level features three bedrooms total, and two of the three bedrooms are available for rent, providing a comfortable and respectful shared living environment.

The owner of this home is passionate about sharing her culture and history, which is reflected in the furnishings, decorations, and materials used throughout the property. The house has a warm and welcoming atmosphere that invites you to learn more about the history of the American Indian tribes of South Dakota.
The home sits on a large, private lot at the end of a quiet street, offering a peaceful setting while still being conveniently located just two blocks from a paved bike, walking, and running trail that stretches for miles throughout Rapid City.

Guests will have access to the main level of the home, which includes the living room, kitchen, and dining area. You will also have private access to the bedroom you rent (which you have the ability to lock while gone for the security of your items). One bedroom features two beds—a queen and a single, while the second bedroom includes one full bed. Rates are based on the number of people staying at the property.

There is one bathroom on the main level, which guests will have full access to during their stay.

I will interact through the app. I`m available by phone and also in person if the guest requests.

To reiterate, we are offering rooms for rent, not the entire home. The owner travels frequently and may not be present during your stay. However, she does retain access to the home and may use the kitchen during that time.

The kitchen, dining room, and living room are shared spaces, while you will have the privacy of your own bedroom within the home. **Guests will NOT have access to laundry.

Please feel free to reach out to the host with any questions or for additional clarification before booking to ensure this arrangement is a good fit for everyone.

Additional Details: The home is equipped with an ROI water system with reverse osmosis. Additionally, our showering products (shampoo, conditioner, and soap) are all non-toxic. We work to keep the home as chemical-free as possible.

We additionally have a portable ramp that could be set up to gain access to the home without having to manage the exterior stairs. However, once inside the home, we do not have additional ADA accommodations. Please message the host if this needs to be set up upon arrival.
**Please remove shoes at the door to help contain dirt and debris.

**NO smoking, please.

**Please be sure that you have registered for the accurate number of guests in your party as this helps us to place out the necessary linens.

**We are unable to accommodate pets due to the owner`s allergies.

My partner and I really enjoyed staying at Two Medicine House ! It was very comfortable, clean and close to everything one would need. The amazing Native American History on display in this home,of the owner’s heritage, helped us understand so much of the area’s history of the Native Americans who lived in this area at the time of the gold rush and afterward. Also the Host was amazing and came by to see if we needed anything and was only a phone call away!We will be back!! There is so much to see here and the city has some really cool shops like Prairie’s Edge!

Cozy stay with an important and interesting cultural lesson

This home not only made for a cozy jumping off point for our South Dakota adventures, but it also provided interesting information on the history and culture of the indigenous people of the region. I went through the welcome book with my son's going through the house to learn about the importance of Bear Butte, the tragic history of boarding school, the beauty of star quilts, and the genius idea of a talking stick. We were able to cook and eat all our own meals for the trip using the kitchen. We had a wonderful time at Two Medicine Woman house. Thank you!
