Very clean and nicely appointed rental. It’s not big but more than adequate for a couple of people. Owner was very truthful about the remoteness of the property which we were prepared for.
Found it to be just as advertised. Cozy cabin, with very nice amenities. Beautiful sunsets from dock and fishing were also enjoyed by us. Host quickly responded when we had questions. We are ready to plan another visit soon.
Beautiful secluded property on the water. The place was very clean and well furnished. Out first night there we saw dolphins swimming up the cove, jellyfish, crab, hooked something huge while fishing but lost it. This is the perfect place to stay to get away from the world and relax.
Very clean , very quiet location . Owner was great with communication and even has a notebook with places for gas, restaurants, grocery stores, and fishing supplies.
This was a lovely place to catch up on some relaxation! The property is beautiful and I love that it has it's own private boat ramp. My husband and I were able to take the boat out during our stay. We are definitely going to book this place again in the spring!
My husband and I stayed at this boat house for two days and nights. It was exactly as described, private, quiet, and surrounded by wild river life. Ralph was very easy to communicate with, and had literally thought of everything that would make this little house attractive for guests. It is very modern, nicely decorated, and very comfortable. It literally has everything you need. The bed was very comfortable. We loved staying here!
The boathouse is the perfect getaway, especially if you want to explore the water! If you have a boat, bring it! The deck is great for early morning coffee and/or cocktail hour. It is positioned perfectly for viewing the river. There is absolute privacy at the boathouse. Our host was very attentive and provided all the information we needed for check-in and check-out. The interior is very clean and comfortable. It has everything you need.
The Boathouse is immaculate and the views from the deck really nice. The location is peaceful and relaxing. The boat launch and dock is very convenient for fishermen. The host wanted to be sure our stay was the best. Easy to communicate with and very helpful. We had a great stay and hope to come again.
Thank you!

About the host
Hosted by Ralph Williams
Hi, I'm Ralph Williams. My wife and I have two beautiful girls. We love to travel, hike, and spend as much time as possible in the outdoors and out on the water. I'm originally from Scranton, NC and moved away for work many years ago to the Clemson, SC area.
We recently turned our little home away from home, The Boathouse, into a short term rental so that others could get to experience the peace and beauty of being on the waterfront in Hyde County. Whether you’re traveling to hunt, fish, or simply escape from daily life, it's hard to beat the serenity that The Boathouse offers. We certainly love it and hope you do to!
Why they chose this property
We purchased this property, The Boathouse, because after lots of travelling we realized that very few places in the world offer the nearly untouched naturally beautiful of the waterfront in Hyde County. Whenever we're at the property, we spend lots of time on the water and love to explore the area by boat, in addition to fishing, tubing, swimming, etc. Belhaven, NC is about 7 miles away by boat.
What makes this property unique
The property consists of 13+ acres, multiple ponds, and is very secluded. It'll feel like you've got the whole area to yourself. The only other folks you'll see are the occasional fisherman crabbing or fishing in the creek. There are tons of wildlife on the property and you're likely to see many deer and waterfowl roaming the property. The property has a private dock and boat ramp and sits on a protected creek just off the Pungo River and Intracoastal Waterway. The sunset views from the dock can't be beat!
