The Bath House-The Best View in Town
Welcome to The Bath House overlooking both Back and Bath Creeks in Historic Bath, the oldest town in North Carolina.
The Bath House, our family summer home, is comfortably and lovingly appointed, and features 3 downstairs bedrooms and 2 full baths. The master suite has a queen bed, full bath and separate dressing table with sink, not to mention full-length windows, allowing beautiful views of the water. Two guest bedrooms share a bathroom, with queen bed and the other with 2 twin beds. The fourth upstairs queen bedroom has a half bath and a downstairs shower off the garage. Bed and bath linens are provided.
The spacious great room with beautiful cathedral ceilings, full-length windows and large brick wood-burning fireplace provides plenty of room for gathering and relaxing with access to deck and 4 comfortable rocking chairs and built in benches: ideal for enjoying waterfront views and spectacular sunsets. A cozy sun room adjoins eat-in kitchen with dining table that seats eight, and more floor-to-ceiling windows for those unforgettable views.
Extras include a 110-foot pier with two Adirondack chairs (and plenty of folding chairs) that affords fishing, crabbing, swimming, and sunning. Deep water access welcomes boats (a boat ramp is just minutes away). Two grills, one large gas and one charcoal, high speed wireless, family-sized kitchen with large and small appliances galore --- all designed to make it easy to soak in the sun and the local culture, and truly escape.
Make yourself at home. Play corn hole, ride bikes (2 in the garage), kayak at daybreak. We left our rafts, large-brimmed hats, and a few beach towels. The promise of a memorable and restorative vacation can be yours !!

This home was so perfect! Comfortable, clean, convenient and quiet. We were mesmerized every evening by absolutely beautiful and magical sunsets. The covered dock was such a bonus for hot days. The first day we saw a huge stingray. Fishing off the dock on our last day we caught and ate the most delicious Red Drum. Strolls around the yard were private and so pleasant. We never did get to try out the kayaks but we are already planning another visit and look forward to trying all the things we missed the first time. The host went above and beyond to make our trip relaxing and the vacation we desperately needed. Thank you!!!
My family and I had a picture-perfect last summer escape at the Bath House this past August. Pictures don't do it justice - you will have to go see for yourself! We hope to book a trip back here soon :)
This house is simply amazing! The view, location and hospitality could not have been any better! Thank you for making this the best experience ever! Nothing better than a wedding week in Bath!
We had a grand trip and staying in your lovely home was a highlight. Everything was just right, and the house is so welcoming and calming. It was a treat to be there. And especially thank you for the well placed grab bars in the shower! The view is lovely, and I especially enjoyed the birds and flowers in your yard. We recorded bird sounds of 19 different birds in just 30 minutes. We would definitely recommend this lovely home for a perfect relaxing getaway.
The Bath House was absolutely perfect! This home has everything you could think of and more. Mrs. Bishop was so accommodating and frequently checked on me. It was so nice having her reach out as I was staying solo! The history of this home is portrayed throughout and really makes you feel like you should attend the next family reunion! Beautiful home and an amazing host! Thank you Mrs. Bishop
What a lovely home and location! Home exceeded our expectations and fit our needs. The sunsets on the back deck were breathtaking! Will stay here again!
We had the loveliest getaway at the Bath House. The house itself is beautiful; very clean and has everything you need. The views of the Pamlico Sound cannot be beat! We enjoyed sipping coffee on the front porch and down on the shaded dock, crabbing off the dock, taking the kayaks out on the water, and cooking in at night. Even during a heat wave, there was a nice breeze on the water and the fans on the dock helped to keep us cool. Our group hopes to make this an annual trip and we will definitely be staying at the Bath House!
We had such a relaxing stay! The house has such a nice layout with plenty of space to hangout with others or have some privacy when needed. Everything was comfortable and the view was amazing! The kitchen comes well stocked with all the utensils, cookware, and dishes you may need and the table is perfectly sized for a game night. There is also plenty of room to store your food, luggage, etc. Always a bonus! We really appreciated the extra touches - especially the gazebo with fans out on the pier, the rocking chairs on the deck, as well as the kayaks. Maude was wonderful at communicating with us and made sure things were as they should be. We really hope to visit again another time!
A beautiful, warm, family home. The photos don't do this property justice. Hope to enjoy the water more next time - we were in town for our son's wedding and there wasn't much time for lounging.
Perfect home and location for our sister's weekend and celebrating a 60th BD
Beautifully kept home with fabulous wayerviews! We enjoyed corn hole and yardze on the side lawn, spending time on the dock, exploring the area and relaxing on the rockers on the deck overlooking both creeks! You can tell this is a well loved home and we fell in love with it too❤️
There were 8 of us and my 6 month old grand daughter. We celebrated my mother-in-laws 80th birthday! I could not have picked a better place for all of us to stay. So quiet and peaceful! We were able to make some crab dip with the 10 large blue crab we caught! Highly recommend this place!!
A really cute house in an ideal location. The house is right on the water and it has its own peer. We watched a beautiful sunset every night.
We walked to Country Kitchen for dinner and had great fried fish.
The weather was a little too cold for swimming or kayaking but that would be a great option.
We were coming from California to visit family in NC and found the Bath House to be a perfect place to gather, relax and enjoy each others company while experiencing a historic area none of us had been to before. The new museum in the old high school in town is impressive, a well done history of the area. Maude was easily available by phone and text to answer the few questions we had. I really appreciated her as a host!
From the moment we walked in it felt like home! The view is amazing! The house is cozy! It is so peaceful out on the porch anytime of the day or night! Sunset view is indescribable!!! We are already trying to plan another stay! The home owner, Maude, is very easy to communicate with, very helpful and sweet!
The Bath House was perfect for our family. From the week before check in until our day of check out-communication with our host was great. The kitchen was stocked, the spaces clean and so cozy. The view was unbelievable. We interacted with dolphin who swam right up to the dock, kayaked and paddle boarded a ton (even to the Quarter Deck for ice cream), fished off the dock, took the ferry to Aurora to dig for sharks teeth, worshipped at historic St Thomas Episcopal, made s’mores at the fire circle, went to a Yard Gnomes game in Greenville and ate at the Country Kitchen restaurant. While we did use the kayaks, there were plenty of other amenities at The Bath House that we just didn’t have enough time to use- bikes, rafts, crab pots, etc. We will definitely stay here again and are so appreciative of Maude and her special home.
The house was in a great location to celebrate my daughter’s wedding. It was beautifully decorated and clean. The kitchen was fully equipped with everything we needed. We had a little time to enjoy the kayaks! There was plenty of room for our entire family from out of town. Most are elderly and it was nice not having a lot of steps for them. We loved the space and hope to go back.
The host reached out and checked in on us during the stay.
We had a great time!
My husband, sister, brother-in-law, nephew, and nephew’s wife loved the property. We felt so at home as soon as we walked in the house with its warm decor. It was amazing to walk out on the dock and catch speckled trout! It was the most relaxing trip we have ever spent together. We loved it so much that we are ready to go back there.
Maude was an amazing host. We appreciate her sharing her home with us!
This property is beautifully located on the river. Maude is a wonderful host with all things water related available to use. Kayaks, crab pots, floating rafts, bonfire pit. We had a meal of blue crabs based on her advice for catching. The windows on the water side of the house make for a beautiful sunset inside or outside. Would recommended to everyone and would return if in that area again.
