About the area
Michigan City
Located in Michigan City, this holiday home is on a lake. The area's natural beauty can be seen at Lake Michigan and Indiana Dunes National Park. Washington Park Zoo and Oasis Splash Pad are also worth visiting.
House is wonderful and very well stocked (kitchens, linens, etc.). It is a vertical, 5-min hike to the beach, so we were happy to have rented a golf cart at the resort (Lancam). There are lots of beach chairs and toys in the garage. There’s an extra fridge in the garage, too.
We really enjoyed our stay at this property! It has beautiful views of Lake Michigan and enough space for our entire family to spread out. The house was very clean and the owner is very responsive. The check-in and check-out processes were very easy. Everyone loved spending time at the beach and the pool- which were made better by the beach towels, chairs, and toys that were provided!
Our stay was wonderful. The views of Lake Michigan were breath taking. The home was beautifully furnished and supplied for most of our cooking needs. The only complaint was from guys who had to sleep in bunk beds & the mattresses but they survived. I would rent this again if in that area.
My wife, our three kids, their spouses, our seven grandkids and I all had a great week at the Pearl, a huge house with spectacular views of Lake Michigan and the surrounding area. There was more than enough room for all of us, and the house had just about everything that we needed. Between the Beachwalk Resort, Sheridan Beach and Washington Park, there was plenty for all of us to do. The stairs to and from the Resort were a challenge, as was the steep driveway, but that's the price you pay for the spectacular views.
This home was beautiful and perfect for a large family. Our kids and grandkids used the community pool and lake almost daily. We had a couple of maintenance issues that were addressed immediately. We were there over July 4th and could see fireworks displays coming from 360 degrees around the house!
Pictures don't give the property justice on how spacious it is inside. There were 15 of us ranging from 70 years to 1 years old and there was plenty of room. The only *negative* part for us was hauling all of our beach stuff down the hill or steps with little ones (I say negative meaning it had no effect on our overall experience with the house). We knew this going into it and if we would have stayed down closer to the road, we wouldn't have had the great views. To our surprise, we were part of an area/community called the Beachwalk which has a coffee shop, pool, playground and lake which the kids all fished in. As well, it was a nice area to walk around in during the evenings or mornings. No issues with the house itself. Had everything we needed. Each room had it's own private deck (minus the bunk room). Our first time to Michigan for our family vacation and it did not disappoint. Thank you for sharing your home with us!
Beautiful house! Plenty of room for our family to spread out when we wanted or all be together. Only suggestion would be an elevator...lol. Only one issue during our stay and it was taken care of in good time.
The house was clean and incredible - plenty of room for 9 adults and 10 kids ranging 4-12. Host was responsive and there were so many activities in the boardwalk community. The kids had nonstop fun at the pool, the beach, the lake, and of course the ice cream shop. 10 out of 10 - would definitely come back.
We had a great week with 15 guests ranging from 8 years old to 80. Beautiful views and a great house with plenty of space. Lots of different spaces to hang out, with a kitchen and family room big enough for our entire family to enjoy meals and game nights. We enjoyed all of the amenities of the Beachwalk Community - including the pool, ping pong, and kayak & paddle boards. Hosts were great, and went above and beyond to help us enjoy our stay to the fullest.
The house was spacious...plenty of room for our 13, could easily handle more. Great views from different balconies. Well equipped kitchen comfortable living space. Access to Beachwalk was a huge plus! If stairs are a concern, then be aware that the house is on four levels, and the walk up from Beachwalk or the beach is 84 stairs (my granddaughter counted them). Driving down and up is an option, so not a problem for us. Overall, an excellent place to stay!
This house couldn’t have been a better fit for OP it family. 10 adults and 2 children for great! Amazing views at every turn!
The pool area was ideal and beach access was perfect. Honestly such a great week!
Thanks!
