We were well informed with instructions on how to find it and we enjoyed our stay. It was cute and cozy . We basically were only there in the evening and to sleep but it is in a great area as long as you don’t mind being off grid!
Amazing views!!! My kids loved it. Peaceful and charming place. We stayed there for the weekend to capture the foliage. We couldn’t have asked for more
The drive up to the cabin definitely required 4WD. The views and the quiet are breathtaking and refreshing. The inside is cozy and romantic. Lounging on the deck helps to melt away the week's stress and rejuvenate your soul.
The property was amazing great views not too far from other towns only problem no Wi-Fi at the cabin but other than that amazing will come back

Disliked: Listing accuracy
While I didn’t end up staying at the property due to lack of accessibility upon arrival. I feel it’s important to share my experience for future guests. The listing is somewhat misleading regarding accessibility. The driveway is not suitable for standard vehicles, and access to the home requires parking at the bottom and carrying belongings up approximately 50 steps. This isn’t presented as a mandatory part of arrival in the listing — it was communicated more as an option, but in reality, it’s necessary. For guests who are prepared for a hike-in style stay, this may not be an issue. However, for anyone with luggage, mobility concerns, or expecting typical driveway access, this could be a significant inconvenience.I would strongly recommend the host update the listing to clearly state the access limitations so guests can make an informed decision ahead of time.
The cutest furry 4-legged creature came over & greeted us when we got there. It was so relaxing! The shower was hot… there were games for us to play. We hiked a bit. I highly recommend and can’t wait to go back!We just had to go buy charcoal, lighter fluid and firewood. Also glad I brought my travel fan.
We fell in love with this little gem tucked into the side of a mountain. We enjoyed hiking and exploring the property, watching the sunrise and set, and the peacefulness of just being. You won't be disappointed!

Im so glad you enjoyed it! Its so uniquely different and a one-of-a-kind find! Thanks for staying with us and please come back!
Love the place. Was exactly as advertised. Maybe a bit better… pictures can only ‘say’ so much. In July, the sunset’s hues last well after the sun itself actually goes below the mountains. Was exactly what we were looking for. You are unplugged for sure.

Good get away space
This cabin was really cute. It was perfect for a getaway with my mom. It’s super close to Boone and the only thing we had to complain about was the lack of service. We couldn’t let our family know we made it. I think giving a WiFi option would make this place so much better.

Hi Page! Thanks for your feedback. We actually put a public porch down by the A-frame cabin which has wifi available for all guests to use. I'm sorry I forgot to mention that. You could have also just walked down to the big cabin and my frind Daniel would have put you on ours. Thanks so much for staying with us. I hope the lack of wifi wasn't a huge problem for you.
Easy communication with host. Must have actual 4x4 if you want to park outside of cabin. Bring everything you would need as if you were tent camping, just minus the tent.
Spotty WIFI and electricity, but a very well and humbling experience for me. I learned what it was like for three days to not have what’s right in front of me. No kitchen. No running water. BYOS(*bring your own supplies*). It took me two days to work the woodstove (*thanks to google*) and it took me only a day to realize the beauty of being alone. To take a step away from the noise and realize that it takes the quiet to finally hear what you’ve needed to hear. I grew up indoorsy as a child and this was my first “camping” experience EVER! A little disappointed since I couldn’t keep a fire going for the first day but it gave me a chance to really think outside of the box and to embrace the reality that we’re missing in the great world of technology. Bobbi was here and was very caring and very nurturing to me. Thank GOD she was here because I wasn’t expecting anyone else other than myself and maybe a couple of guests but she’s what made the experience so much more cherishing. Community will always have your back, even in the deepest of nowhere!
Cute little stay up in the mountains, not much connection, but that was fine for me and my girlfriend, the goats were a blast and have a great personality. The owner and the owner's son were very responsive and kind. Has a great view of the mountains and a wonderful drive up there.
This guest got here late so was offered a late check out at 3:00 p.m. We also offered them a ride on the side by side to take them up to the old church. They were here one night. Left the cabin a mess. Threw a full box of rice with old socks inside the pot belly stove inside the cabin. Left weed and dirty socks in the cabin. Outside firepit they threw a blanket and oil in it. Took 3 hours to clean up after them. We are in the woods surrounded by the state forest with brand new cabins. Guest paid $50 plus cleaning fee to stay here. Not sure what he was expecting but Hosts BEWARE. He does not care how he leaves your place then wants his money back then trashes you with reviews. We've had nothing but amazing reviews until this guy. Everyone loves it up here. We are social and love our guests. Most times guests come down and sit by the fire with us or have coffee with us and are returning guests so to here him complain about nothing is pretty sad and hurtful.

I've been managing and hosting vacation rentals for a long time. I bought this property a piece at a time and now own the entire mountain. We started with one cabin and have added so many adorable cabins and glamping sites and are still building up here. We are converting an old school bus into a camp office and another into a unique stay! Always a project going on at Buckridgemountainresort .com Come check us out! Stay awhile! We love our guests and hope we've made this an enjoyable destination!
Why they chose this property
Once you turn off of DyeLeaf onto JD Guinn Lane you are in paradise!! We own the entire place as far up as you can see. I've hiked up just about all sides for hours and the creeks and streams are beyond beautiful. Just the sounds of nature are amazing. The whippoorwill's the owls, the crickets the frogs...look up and the stars at night are unmatched as there is no street lighting anywhere.
What makes this property unique
This property has trails everywhere. You can pack a lunch and hike for hours up the mountain. There is a creek that runs alongside the property and during rainy season it's so beautiful. We are close to Beech Mountain, Sugar Mountain, Doe Mountain, Watauga Lake and winerys everywhere. Minutes from Sugar Hollow Retreat. We have over 7 cabins and a unique bath/shower house. There is primitive camping areas anywhere you choose. Year round fun!
