We enjoyed an amazing stay! What a beautiful lakefront home; bright, clean and stocked with everything we needed. The location was perfect for kayaking, and eagle and loon watching. Night time stargazing was a special treat. A very special spot on Long Lake!
The owner is quick to accuse you of stealing before checking the property. She gives no instructions for departing and then uses that to charge you extra. The house is in a fragile state and dangerous for children with tripping hazards throughout the house. House was unsecured unsecure when we arrived and now I’m being accused of all sorts of things. Nice house and location, not so much with the owner.

Sadly, Sir, I’m now forced to reply to earlier personal threats and now “anonymous” insults you’ve hurled at me publicly while dismissing hundreds of dollars in damage left by your party.
This is a first in our 10 years of hosting wonderful guests from all over the world, as 30 excellent reviews and regular repeat visitors attest. I assure you it gave me no pleasure to require housekeeping and maintenance staff to work overtime to quickly return the house to “guest-ready” condition.
The standard rental contract you personally signed, plus subsequent text messages (asking to add 15 people to the guest list days before arrival, e.g.) explicitly state house rules for use, maintenance, and clean-up of the property during your stay. You chose to ignore all of them and actually denied there was any “agreement”.
You managed to do more damage in one week than ALL of my COMBINED guests over a decade. Apparently your idea of “normal” wear and tear includes ripping a curtain rod out of the wall, breaking/rendering inoperable window shades and doors, relocating furniture throughout the house, throwing a new 8’ rug into a closet (because it was “collecting too much dirt”), leaving food remnants and trash everywhere, tossing dirty dishes and cookware into cabinets, and the list goes on.
It’s clear now why you never return to a rental property, despite growing up in and returning the same location year after year. You, sir, are no gentleman.
A great large house on Long Lake with breathtaking views
Our entire family had a joy-filled one week stay at the house. The weather initialy didn't cooperate but the well-stocked house and breathtaking views - even during fog and rain - made a couple of rainy days much easier to pass. The lake is much less busy in that part of it than I expected - boat traffic is there but it is not much of a nuisance. Abundance of wildlife - we have seen more loons here than on any other lake in Maine. Merganzer ducks, cormorants and gulls are all around you, and we even saw a majestic bald eagle flying above us a few times. The house is clean and well-stocked, the only thing I would suggest is a tea kettle (perhaps we simply didn't find it). The beds are wonderfully comfortable and the three bathrooms is a welcome relief for a large group. Kate was a pleasure to communicate with, very responsive and welcoming. Overall, we would not hesitate to wholeheartedly recommend the place and we hope to come again next year.
We are a group of 7 friends who gather from all over to spend a week together. This year we chose this lakeside property because we felt we didn’t have to travel to see surrounding sites. It offered peaceful and beautiful views, comfortable outdoor chairs, kayaks, and a fire pit. Inside it was clean, had a well appointed kitchen as we cooked all our meals, dining table for 8, single level living for those who needed it, and space for getting away on a screened porch, a cozy living room or a walk out basement. We would recommend it highly.
Lovely setting right on the lake. Pictures do not do it justice. Sounds great f the looks, kayaking, swimming off the dock - all lovely! Clean, spacious and well equipped. Hope to go back!
We have been staying on Long Lake for decades and this was by far the best location and house we have been to. The pictures don't even do it justice. Falling asleep to the water and loons, and waking up to the most beautiful views from the living room were the best memories. Also, the BEST sunsets. We will hopefully stay again!
Enjoyed our stay right on the water at beautiful Long Lake, including the loon that seemed to hang out in our area....even saw a bald eagle. House was as described, spotless and had everything we needed. Appreciated the kayaks. Highly recommend.ed. Thank you, Kathryn!
The house completely lived up to the pictures and description. It's in a a beautiful spot right on Long Lake with a private dock to relax on in the sun, stairs leading into a sandy lake bottom, and a cozy firepit. The screened-in porch is perfect for eating dinner while watching the sunset over the lake without having to worry about bugs.
There was a general store about a 10 minute drive away that had everything we needed. House was well maintained and Kate was super friendly and responsive. Would definitely come back!
This place was perfect for my family. Clean and well laid out, literally steps from the lake in a quiet spot with less traffic. There are bedrooms on three floors which allowed us to separate from each other but still keep the children with their parents. 5/5 stars.
First time at Long Lake and it did not disappoint. Great family vacation. Kate was extremely responsive with all questions, and we enjoyed a couple nights out at responsible outside dining restaurants. Otherwise loved grilling at the house and topping off the night with S’mores at the fire pit. Kayaks were a big hit and as was jumping off the dock!
We thoroughly enjoyed our time at this lake house. All the amenities as well as plenty of room to relax for our extended family of 6 adults and 1 child. House was very clean, well appointed and so convenient right on the lake. Beautiful sunsets, clean water and nice dock. Wooded and nice area for walking or hiking. 10-15 min to restaurant and grocery stores. Kate, the owner, was very helpful and responsive. Highly recommend!
We were so fortunate to stay at this beautiful Long Lake property. The house was so thoughtfully decorated and comfortable.
Sitting in the dining room having breakfast or lunch the beautiful view of Long Lake and surrounding scenery was remarkable. On the lake side, the ground level entrance to the swimming area was easily accessible. We enjoyed the dock with the heavy duty Adirondack chairs and the lake breeze making it so relaxing. At night we sat around the fire pit laughing at our jokes and listening to the “loon” calls. On Thursday we were treated to seeing a bald eagle making several passes over the dock looking for lunch.
We visit Maine yearly and found this house comfortable, roomy and right on the lake. It is an ideal location for family activities and water adventures. The owner, Kate, was so helpful with sharing her knowledge of the house and the local area. To say the least, it was extremely enjoyable.
We rented this lovely home during the first week of August. Long Lake is a beautiful lake, and the location of this house right on the lake is ideal.
We had three generations staying here and everyone loved it. The house was well supplied with water toys- inflatable tubes and rafts, and two kayaks, which were used by all.
Kitchen was well supplied with all needed to cook large meals and grill was well cared for and clean.
Loved eating our meals in the outdoor screen porch- bug free!
As I had read in past reviews, the house is multi-level. There is a large set of stairs to the front door. The staircase was actually slightly rickety and swayed slightly when we walked down it. My mother is 77 and was able to get up and down them fine, but we always made sure someone was with her. Similarly, there is a long set of stairs in the back that go down to the yard. There is access outside from the basement floor as well.
All in all it’s a great rental home with plenty of room for larger groups. Kate the owner was also great with communication and even checked in mid week to see how it was going, which I appreciated. Thank you!!!
Simply another wonderful week on Long Lake. Great location, nice house, beautiful lake, and plenty of things to do in the surrounding area. Our family loves this place, so, the good Lord willing, we'll be back again next year. That will make four years in a row. When you've found something that works for you, stay with it.
We had a wonderful vacation at Long Lake. From my initial booking to leaving on our last day, the entire process was very easy and Kate, the owner was more than helpful and accessible whenever I had a question. The renters guide that is also provided once you book, has all the information you need to make sure you enjoy your stay. The house itself was very clean and very comfortable for our family. We spent many nights enjoying the views from the house or the porch or the dock. You just can't get enough of the lake and the mountains and this house provides all that and more. We ate in every night including one night that was a lobster dinner and the kitchen had all the necessary plates, pots, pans and utensils that you would need. We also very much enjoyed the kayaks and the inflatables to cruise the lake. The outside area before the lake is perfect to lounge around with ample adirondack chairs for everyone. Our entire group could not say enough good things about this vacation and we would definitely recoommend and go back!
We had a wonderful week with family of 7 adults. Great location. Rented a pontoon boat for a day. Highly recommend. Perfect area for kayaking. Everything you need in the kitchen.
This was just what we were looking for! Born and raised in Maine and now living in PA. We grew up every summer on Long Lake, and we were looking for a place to bring our kids for a week long stay. This home was exactly what we were looking for. Location is perfect! We loved how there wasn’t too much boat traffic and we were close enough to either the causeway in Naples, or to Harrison. Enjoyed swimming, jet skiing, and boating right in front of the home. Spent time lounging on the dock during the days, and spent nights around the fire pit. We will definitely rent again and would highly recommend.

Perfect home and location for our family!
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay on Long Lake. The home was perfect for my family with every couple having their own space (bedroom and bath) as well as multiple sitting areas. The views from this home were incredible, being so close to the water. Sunsets were gorgeous. We enjoyed lounging and stargazing on the dock, dining on the porch and making s'mores by the fire pit. The lake was amazing. Crystal clear. Great for swimming, kayaking, and yes tubing by the younger set. And I can't forget the loons. We were treated to daily sightings close to shore and heard their calls in the evening. We loved the location also as it was an easy drive to Bridgton or Naples. There were also plenty of options for walking and biking. The host was extremely responsive and provided all the information we needed. Crisp white linens were provided as well as towels, which was helpful. Of all the homes we've rented in the area, this home was the nicest! We look forward to returning!
