Come and relax at the best hammock at the charming condo-Penthouse at Playa la Ropa, which is the ' most exclusive beach ' - Financial Times.
The resort is the most exclusive at Zihuatanejo, it has private security, has direct access to Playa La Ropa and Zihuatanejo Bay.The condo is located on a second floor-penthouse of the building and its very aery . The condominium of 4 condos shares a semi-private pool, besides the semi-olympic pool we have at Residencias Villas del Sol.
A chambermaid service is provided every second day by the owner. You can call the front office and ask for your chaise lounge chairs and they will be ready for you at the beach.

The apartment is very nice decorated and has all the amenities. Sleeps either , 4 adults and 2 children, or 5 adults max .
The master bedroom has one kingsize bed and private bath. The second bedroom has one queen bed and a private bathroom too.

At the leaving room, 2 other twin beds can be arranged. The kitchen is fully equipped. And the condo has a free parking space.

The apartment is walking distance from the beach. La Ropa Beach is great for walking or jogging, either mornings or sunsets. You can also practice waterskiing, besides other watersports (surfing, windsurfing, etc).

At the beach, by Hotel Thompson, you are very well served by the best waiters in the world. There are 2 different restaurants that you can visit Ceniza Restaurant for dinners and Hao.

The facility is in a great location and very well maintained. This unit is on the 3rd floor of its building and very comfortable. Maria was very helpful with recommendations and super responsive to a small issue that came up early in our stay. Definitely recommend!

We were very disappointed with the overall appearance of the condo. The only seating area in living space was a L shaped couch that was very uncomfortable to sit on and with a large table in front that blocked it. Deck chairs also uncomfortable and hard to get out of. Deck sun blinds were very old bamboo that did very little to block sun.Dishes and glassware very limited. I had to call hostess to get new towels and didn't have hot water or use of dishwasher until 3rd day. I could go on.Over priced for what we got. Would not recommend Mary Stein

Oh really ??? .. it’s very strange all people writes reviews for 4/5 stars and you are the only one complaining, Maybe next time go to another beach and take a 10 star hotel .. you requested everything as people were your slaves .. and not, everything was on time, but learned that you always requests more things than normal and you complain about everything ! So maybe you have to find another beach suitable for you. Our little paradise Zihuatanejo is for cool People . Have nIce day !

Great relaxing stay.

My wife and I enjoyed walking to the beach and the beach amenities courtesy of the Thompson Hotel staff. Swimming in the clean calm water of the bay was another high point as was the services provided by the La Residencies staff for making reservations, calling taxis, handling baggage etc. The gardens and pools of this property are beautiful and exceptionally well maintained when you get tired of the beach, if you ever do.

Great location

Easy access to the beach and restaurants. Spacious living area. Large patio overlooking lush tropical gardens. Quiet. Two pools that were very clean with lots of lounge chairs to choose from. No overcrowding. Very relaxing and enjoyable experience.

Grounds were beautiful and the pools were fabulous. The villa was neat, tidy and well cared for. As with any older property there are always a few minor things that could use some repairs or upgrades, (shower head and knobs), but this did not detract from our enjoyment in staying there. Great place-perfect location

The location was perfect. Totally safe, beach access, and two beautiful pools. It’s a little small for 4 adults. The kitchen is small and really no table/space inside to have dinner. But the location and overall area was fantastic.

Thanks Arnold for yr review and comments, just want to clarify that the dinning table is located at the 12 meters terrace as we as owners like that, we do not like to live inside when we are at the beach, and our table fits 6 persons and not 8 that you wanted to have for dinner in my condo. Would have been nice to mention that I provided you with a lady that cooked for you nice breakfasts and nice dinner too !!! I am glad that you enjoyed the super beach we have and our pools ! Great condo in great location

Our family enjoyed this condo. We especially loved the terrace, where we lounged before and after our beach times and ate our breakfasts and lunches. Maria was the perfect host, always immediately responsive. She arranged our transportation from the airport, recommended great restaurants and offered to have her wonderful housekeeper/cook to prepare meals for us. Of all the buildings at VDS, this condo is also closest to the beach!

We enjoyed our stay in Zihuatanejo and all because we had such wonderful accommodations. Maria is so very helpful and responsive as are the people who work at Villa Del Sol. Everyone is so friendly and helpful-all our needs were met. This condo is beautiful and you cannot ask for a better location. It is close to the beach, restaurants and a walk or taxi into town. This is our 4th trip to Zihuatanejo and we will always be back but from now on, we will stay at this place. We have no recommendations- nothing could have made for a better vacation!

Beautiful, spacious condo in an amazing location!

It was our first trip to Zihua and we already can’t wait to go back and stay at Maria’s! The condo was exactly as described, very clean and the outdoor patio was a bonus! The location was amazing - a quick 2 minute walk through the beautiful Thompson hotel grounds and you arrive at the best white sand beach with stunning views and a gorgeous sunset! Lots of restaurants and bars right on the beach. We rented beach chairs everyday and they were extremely well priced (50 pesos for 2 chairs). Maria was a fantastic host and SO accommodating, especially because we were travelling with our 6 month old baby. Highly highly recommend her condo for your next Zihua stay!

A great, relaxing vacation

Villas del Sol has a wonderful history and a prime location on the best beach: La Ropa. The modernity of the Thompson hotel, which occupies the front of the property is inspiring, and the villas behind are well-designed and maintained. Maria is a lovely host and made us feel very welcome on our first stay in Mexico. While we ventured a bit to neighboring beaches, everything paled in comparison to the La Ropa beach and bay. We had many good options for lunch/dinner, and never tired of swimming between the ocean and the swimming pool. My husband even got to take some lessons with the Thompson hotel's tennis pro, which just made the stay even more perfect. Overall, a great place and a wonderful villa.

Perfecto!!!

We loved everything about our vacation in Zihua, especially our stay at Maria’s condo in Villa Del Sol. The location couldn’t be better near the Thompson hotel at Playa La Ropa. And for so little money you can rent beach loungers right in front of the hotel. The restaurants all around are fantastic and the beach itself is top-notch. Maria was so accommodating in every way, always making sure we had what we needed. She went above and beyond and deserves 5 shining stars. A special bonus that we didn’t expect was that housekeeping came and cleaned every day, so we always came back to a tidy place. We are definitely coming back next year! Gracias por todo!

This condo, in a high-end complex, is just 100 yard walk from the beach, the swimming pools are a perfect temperature. It is a very well-run facility with gardeners and daily maid service, This particular condo is decorated in a mediterranean style ( the owner Maria is a Mexican national who has lived in Europe and speaks fluent English and French )..she is also available anytime on whatsapp for questions and information ...highly recommend

Wonderful Location

This was our first time visiting Zihuatanejo and we really enjoyed it. The location of the condo is behind the Thompson Resort, and a very short walk to the beach. One of the best locations! There is a small pool which serves just 2 buildings (with just 8 units) and is very private. There is also a larger pool just around the corner. The unit is close to the beach and close to restaurants and a convenience store on the other side, which was great. It was easy to catch a taxi at the Thompsons resort and was only 100 pesos to town. Beach chairs can be reserved for the following day by emailing the office and the water was perfect for swimming (the service from Thompsons was a little spotty). One day a turtle came up on the beach to lay her eggs and that was quite a treat! It was nice to hang out at the pool and meet the other guests, some who had been coming to Zih for 30 years! The unit is on the top floor of the building so there are about 25 steps to reach it, but those are the only steps you'll encounter. We really loved Zih, the people, the food, the scenery and the shopping. Maria was very responsive to all our needs and wanted to make sure all was well, which we really appreciated. I would highly recommend this condo to others!

Another week in paradise!

This complex is A1! close to town, public transportation right outside the main gate, grounds meticulously cared for, outstanding beach. However, the unit needs improvements. The main part of the 2 bedroom unit does not have AC, although both rooms do. So we could not really enjoy that living space because it was too hot. The door locks were falling apart and it was a real chore to lock or open the main doors. The kitchen needs to be restocked with newer pots and pans and utensils. The owner did have floor fans in the main part of the house but they were old and really unadjustable. The owner requested we lower the patio shades in the afternoon which we did,but we had to climb the sills to secure and tie down the ropes to keep the shades up. We felt this was unsafe but we managed to do it because it was important to keep the unit protected from the afternoon sun. The owner was very good at communicating with us about our concerns and very helpful in suggesting good local restaurants.

Tks Jorge for yr comments. Which I will take into consideration . Didn’t knew about the locks .. you didn’t mentioned it to me while your stay and those have been already changed by new ones. Will check on kitchen utensils.. unfortunately not all guests take good care of them :( Tks for letting me know. The living room can get cold in a while leaving both open doors of the bedrooms. Will check on the fans as I will be going by end if the month. Tks for informing . The shades can be adjusted without climbing, it was just pulling the string and the shades can go up and down . Anyhow, thanks for letting me know these details which I will look over personally. Besides these details I hope you have enjoyed zihua and my condo .. and that you come back soon ! Best location in Zihua

My family (husband, nanny, and 2 toddlers) stayed at Maria’s place for spring break. I’m so happy we did. Maria was really communicative- she helped arrange a van pickup from the airport before our arrival and shared lots of local tips via WhatsApp. The condo location is excellent. From the condo door it’s a 2 minute walk through the beautiful Thompson property to reach the beach. Her building is the closest to the beach whereas other buildings are higher uphill and require effort to reach. Though there are 2 flights of stairs to reach the apartment (it’s a top floor unit), they are easy to climb. This building doesn’t have or need an elevator. There is a small pool in front of her building but we mostly used the big pool a <1 minute walk away. We were often the only people in the pool. The Villas property is well taken care of with giant palm trees, it exceeded our expectations. Maria’s place was perfect for a young family. The kitchen was well stocked with cooking tools we needed and the furnishings were functional. Nothing was “too fancy” for our small children, so it was a relief that they could move around the apartment without us worrying about damaging something. We took the local bus into town with a mix of tourists and locals, the ride was cheap, fast and safe. We loved el Centro and visited the market several times. There are a ton of restaurants within walking distance from Villas. Zihua is super cool and a perfect destination to get off the beaten path.

Perfect condo

This property checked all the boxes that my family was looking for. It was a spacious for our family of 4. It is a very clean 2br/2bathroom condo with a large outdoor patio/lounge area located on the top floor of the 3 story building. The location of the condo is 2 minutes or less walk from the La Ropa beach. The kitchen is fully equipped with all the appliances and the kitchenwares. The owner, Maria, was exceptional in communication. She contacted us few days before our trip to help us arrange the transportation from the airport, which went seamless. During our 7 days stay she communicated with us daily, concerned if all of our needs are being met. She provided tips and suggestions for the local restaurants and the activities. This was our second stay in Zihua. Our first trip we stayed at the nearby Thompson hotel, but in Maria's condo we felt more pampered for a fraction of the cost. We strongly recommend Maria's condo and we would stay here again on our next visit to Zihuatanejo.
