Welcome to the Cozy Moose Cabin- a Romantic Getaway in the High Country! No Pets

The Cozy Moose Cabin awaits you!! Located on Buck Mountain, a private gated community, this Pet Free/Smoke Free cabin is located only 20 minutes from Boone! Blowing Rock is only 30 minutes away via the scenic Blue Ridge Parkway. The Cozy Moose Cabin sits on 10.5 acres and affords you the privacy you may be seeking for a vacation of reconnecting or a vacation of disconnecting from the rest of the world. The property is easily accessible without a four wheel drive vehicle but it is suggested in the winter months when snow is on the ground. While we love Fluffy and Fido, pets are NOT allowed at this property as the owner is extremely allergic. This is also a NON SMOKING/NON VAPING property.
The Buck Mountain Community features a relaxing waterfall, a small stocked pond (catch and release only) and hiking trails.

Great location

This was our second time staying at this property and it was wonderful both times. We also got to enjoy meeting many of the neighbors and folks that live there when we were invited to join them at the July 4th Community Gathering where there was food and fellowship and even a live band. Terrific experience and property.

Horse Show

We stayed the weekend at this cabin because our granddaughter was in a horse show. It was a very relaxing place to come back to after a busy show. The views off the back deck are spectacular! The beds are very comfortable and my granddaughter enjoyed having the loft to herself. We would definitely stay here again!

Nice cabin on Moose Mountain

Very nice cabin facing West with the mist breathtaking sunsets. Cabin had every you would want to relax in solitude. Nice trails to walk as part of the resort with hammocks to rest by the creeks if you have the time to do so. Cabin was as advertised and all the reviews on this place are accurate. Nice clean place. One of the best we have rented on VRBO!

Cozy & Comfortable Cabin

This cabin is adorable and very clean. Furnishings were comfortable and the kitchen was well stocked with everything you might need. We loved having coffee on the porch in the mornings and watching the sun set over the mountains in the evening. Definitely will keep this one on our “visit again” list!

The house was not misrepresented, kitchen was well equipped, the house more than lived up to expectations.The only thing I would add is if you come up in inclamate weather, just stay in the cabin, the roads are brutal.We stayed put, had plenty of food and could not have been happier

Beautiful Cabin

We stayed 2 nights at the Cozy Moose in March 2025. The cabin is beautifully decorated and has a gorgeous mountain view out of the downstairs bedroom, kitchen, dining room and basement. The house was immaculately clean and was very comfortable. Communication with the owner about roads and possible inclement weather was excellent. Responses were timely and very helpful. These owners take pride in their property, and it shows. We would gladly stay here again.

We fell in love with the High Country years ago and have been renting cabins for many years prior to buying one of our own.

Why they chose this property

We found it was always very hard to find a less expensive cabin for quick weekend getaways - they always seemed to be geared towards a larger group for the rental. This cabin only has two bedrooms and two baths but it is 1,550 square feet and affords some room to move around and not feel cramped. And it comes with a great view!

What makes this property unique

This cabin is located on 10.5 acres and is very quiet but very easy to access. It is serene and peaceful and it allows you to turn off your brain and just relax :-)
