Quant with beautiful water view. Beds were comfortable. We went for a girls weekend. Schaefer's canal house was 10 minutes away. Had a wonderful dinner. Would recommend to people looking for a peaceful getaway.

This is our 3rd year in a row renting Jessica’s property. We truly enjoyed our stay. Highly recommend staying here. Beautiful backyard looking out to the bay! It has been a highlight staying here visiting for UD graduations. We hope to be back!

The property was great. Perfect deck and yard space to sit and enjoy the water view. Was a little bit of a process to get an Uber to go into Chesapeake City for food/drinks but it all worked out and was a lovely weekend!

We had five ladies staying at the River shack and we had the best time ever! The property is so beautiful that instead of spending the day shopping at Chesapeake, we hung out at the house. The view and sunsets can't be beat! The home is kept up very nice and the hot tub was a big bonus! We had everything we needed and the property is open and airy! The Crab shack is nearby and we really enjoyed eating crabs on the deck! Jessica is a wonderful host and so kind. Communication with Jess, check in and check out were seamless. Hope to be back soon!

Peaceful waterfront stay

My partner and I stayed for the weekend with our baby and another couple and had a wonderful time. The house was spotless and nice and cool inside when we arrived to check in on a hot July afternoon. The kitchen was well-equipped with what we needed to cook our meals and share them out on the deck looking at the river. The river view is stunning—we even saw a few bald eagles. All my communication with the host, Jess, was extremely pleasant and her replies were quick, informative, and helpful. I would definitely recommend this VRBO if you’re looking for a quiet weekend with friends or family. I hope to come back soon. Thank you!

Jess was absolutely lovely. She was super responsive and extremely helpful with recommendations for eating and places to visit etc. Her home is a sweet little cottage set back in a rural setting with an absolutely beautiful waterfront view. The cottage is decorated thoughtfully and she added so many creative touches throughout. I always really appreciate an honest review, so I am inclined to share:When we arrived the house was filled with flies. We spent a good part of our time killing flies, trying to avoid them, covering all of our food etc. It was not relaxing. I did text Jess to see if that was normal for the area & she said no and was apologetic.The microwave didn't work. We found dirty dishes in the cabinets that we almost used. There was laundry from the previous renter in the washer and water bottles in the outside shower. The iron was found thrown in a bucket to the left side of the washer. We thought that basic soaps; including shampoo, body wash, and detergent were supplied, but they were not so we had to run out to buy some. My son was the first to get a shower and was grossed out when he noticed the shower curtain was stained and the liner was molded. The curtains in the main room to outside were also stained. There were cobwebs and dead flies on window sills etc. Overall; we enjoyed our stay and had fun. It wasn't terrible but the lack of attention to certain details of cleanliness would've made all the difference in our stay and with my review.
