The Cardinal Cabin

This cabin is sweet and cozy. Perfect for a romantic weekend getaway!! Fully stocked kitchen and bath. All you need are some groceries and a bathing suit! The boat was great also!!!

This adorable and unique lake house was nothing short of perfection for me and my two teenage girls. The home was tastefully renovated after hurricane Helene, and everything we needed was well organized, and available to us. The roof deck had lovely, comfortable seating with a wonderful view of the inlet on which the house is located, and the direct lake access (the home is literally built over the lake!) made it possible for our excursion boats to pick us up right at the house. Both bedrooms were very comfortably appointed, and we all remarked on the quality of the bedding. Superb value for the price and we will certainly be back!

Courtenay, having excursion boats pick you up straight from the house is the kind of detail that makes a lake trip genuinely effortless, and the roof deck view over the inlet is the perfect backdrop to come home to. So glad the bedding and the post-Helene renovations hit the mark for you and your girls. The lake is especially beautiful as the seasons shift, and there will always be a spot on that deck waiting for your next visit.

Great week on Lake Lure

Wonderful lake house directly on Lake Lure (cove). Property was as described, great amenities, comfortable bed, quiet (at the end of draw down). Convenient to grocery/gas/ great food and things to do. Owner was very communicative and very attentive to come check all equipment (canoes, paddle board, kayak) when the lake opened. Great views from every deck (upstairs, side and by the hot tub). Best restful vacation and will definitely return!

Everything was clean, new and comfortable. Outside decks are amazing. We didn’t get a chance to use the hot tub, but may return in the fall.Communication with host was excellent.Would highly recommend this sweet cottage to anyone looking to stay at Lake Lure.

Great spot right on the water

Cannot say enough about the location! Was superb for water access and relaxation. The only negative was the stairs and steep grade from the street. The stairs are not for the faint of heart! Loading and unloading was very difficult. The fact they let you bring dogs is WONDERFUL however there is no grassy area to walk them and the cars go very fast around the corner just up the stairs so you have to keep that leash on!! We made do but it was not easy finding spots for the dogs to ‘go’. We were warned of this fact beforehand but decided we could work with it. The power went out first day for 6 hours and we were never able to get the jacuzzi hot again after it cooled down from that ( even after unplugging and restarting) Also the tv buffered constantly making watching tv very frustrating. Having said that, the spot was relaxing and clean. The king bed was comfy and the shower had great water pressure.
