Hello Guests,
With the recent Hurricane Helene the Village of Chimney Rock and Lake Lure have been devastated. And Lake Lure is currently closed, due to the extensive clean up required to restore the Lake to its former beauty. Along with that, every person in the area has lost their jobs. So, in an effort to continuing to provide income for my housekeepers, I'm dropping the nightly rate tremendously. Check the rates and I hope it's attractive enough for you to decide to come and check out the area, as well as supporting the locals who are determined to stay and help rebuild our precious little town.
If you're unaware of the damage caused by the storm, you can check it out on Youtube, Chimney Rock NC.
There are many wonderful restaurants that are open. That even the people from outside the area come to dine.
This is a Brand New Log Home with everything Brand New. It is custom built with top quality Stainless Steel Appliances, Granite Counter Tops, and a huge deck and wrap around porch, with a Gas Grill and Picnic Table. WIFI is also provided FREE. It is furnished and decorated with an intended 'Lodge' feel that is like something like you don't typically see in this area. It has custom handmade furniture from Mexico in the bedrooms and Kitchen, with Log Beds in the guest bedrooms for that Mountain feel. The cabin also comes with the use of 2 kayaks, one 8' and one 17', and a 12' canoe. There is a 32 foot long and 8 foot wide dock. It's a beautiful cabin on one of the most beautiful coves on 'one of the most beautiful man-made lakes in the world'. ~National Geographic Magazine.

This is a NO PETS property. It is new and the floors are soft pine, and easily scratched. No Please, NO PETS. Thank you.

Many friends and former Guests have all asked, "what can we do to help?" Well, that answer is; come to the area, eat at the local restaurants, tip the heck out of the Waite staff, and go over to the Tryon International Equestrian Center where many of the Chimney Rock Merchants have set up shop to sell their merchandise. My wife and I went over there last week with 14 of our friends to Christmas shop. It was great because all of Chimney Rocks shops are now all in one location.

It's fall in the Mountains, and despite the devastation, is still beautiful.

The cabin was great, can’t imagine how pretty it would all be if the lake was at normal capacity. The basement games and area kept us busy. Real close to the town and grocery store. We were able to go hiking as well. What a neat area. We plan to come back for sure and would definitely stay here again.

The house was wonderful. The lake; however, was gone. This was ok tho bc the owner advised us of this when I booked. We went to support the community. What we did not know was the amount of noise that started at 4 AM until dark with 4 - 8 big rig trucks every minute, riding jake brakes around the curves to the bottom of the hill. I was able to use ear plugs to get appropriate sleep. The area is beautiful and the vendors are in need of tourist to get them on their feet again.

I have always loved log cabins. I lived in my first log cabin in Montana in 1972. There was no heat, nor running water. Except for the wood cook stove and the stream that ran past the cabin. My dog used to wake me in the mornings, in the winter, because his water bowl was frozen over,,,in the cabin.
We bought our first log cabin in Chimney Rock in 1993. It was a one room, 450 square foot cute little place with no heat nor air conditioning. I have loved this area for many years and have always thought about the cabins on Grey Log Cove and thought how much fun it would be to have a cabin there. Well, as sometimes dreams do come true...I bought a lot there in 2012 and the dream of having a cabin there is finally coming together. I think this is one of the nicest log homes, on definitely the nicest cove on the Lake Lure.

Why they chose this property

This is a very unique piece of property. It is right on the lake, on one of the nicest private coves on Lake Lure. You and your guests can take the canoe or kayaks out onto the cove for a nice peaceful paddle without having to get out onto the traffic of the Lake. Or if you choose, there are 8 restaurants, with nice bars, on the lake that you can canoe or kayak to. You can sunbath on the 32' long dock or the large wrap around deck.
Staying at 'The Lodge on Grey Log Cove' is an experience that you won't soon forget.
There is also a full basement with it's own Bath and shower, as well as a LIVING ROOM, WITH FRIDGE, FLAT SCREEN TV, POOL TABLE, FOOS BALL TABLE, AIR HOCKEY TABLE, PING PONG TABLE, AND BEAN BAG TOSS.

What makes this property unique

In building 'The Lodge on Grey Log Cove' I wanted to add some of the flavor of the West and the time I spent living in Montana near Yellowstone National Park, as well as some of the influences of my years living in Santa Fe New Mexico. This cabin is be like nothing some people have ever seen before. I wanted to keep with a 'Lodge' theme and I think it has come together pretty well.
One of the things I am most proud of is my Housekeeping staff. They are the best around. Also provided are on-site massage and baby sitting with advanced notice.
Breakfast is also provided. So don't rush out for something to eat on your first morning here. Relax, have some COFFEE and ORANGE JUICE on the deck while the HAM AND EGGS are cooking on the stove. Then taste some of my Housekeepers fresh homemade JAM, on an ENGLISH MUFFINS. Made Exclusively for the Guests of the 'Lodge on Grey Log Cove'. Also provided is free popcorn and a variety of DVD movies and a new 42' flat screen TV for your at home evening entertainment.
Also provided with the cabin's key is an 'Ingles Advantage' card. For discounts at the local grocery store. So they'll treat you like a local.
I know there are lots of places to stay on Lake Lure, but I wanted to provide more of an 'experience' to your vacation than just a place to spend the night. I've tried to add some simple 'extras' and things that you don't get at a regular 'canoe paddle on the wall' type of rental unit.This is a new log cabin, that was completed in the spring of 2014. It is a one of a kind, custom log cabin, with stainless steel appliances, granite counter tops, ceiling fans in every room, large closets, and many other custom features.
Also for your enjoyment is a full basement, with a Ping Pong table, Pool Table/Air Hockey Table, Foosball Table, Bean Bag Toss, Flat Screen TV, Refrigerator, and a Private Bath. Also many comfortable chairs and couches.
Treat yourself. Stay at 'The Lodge on Grey Log Cove'. You're worth it
