Thank you for your review. We are glad you enjoyed your stay and the proxximity of the Cottage to downtown.. Also, thanks for your comments regarding suppling bath towels. After COVID, we found many people prefered suppling their own bath towels. However, we can provide loaner towels for people flying and/or driving from long distances.Maybe its time to review this situation again to see if feelings have changed. Thanks
Wonderful cottage that has the very best location. Only a couple blocks of flat walking to restaurants, stores, playground and the river. Nice owners. Pet friendly.
Very nice house for a couple, with a second bedroom with twin beds for kids, plus pet friendly! Great location for easy access to all of downtown Saugatuck, yet on a quiet side street with off street parking, perfect for our 2 week stay. Owners are responsive, detail oriented and local to take care of any issues that might arise. A good find, and we will definitely stay here again!
The cottage was perfect for our fall family getaway. It is very charming and had everything we needed for our family of four. The location is perfect and the owners were extremely friendly and helpful.
We have stayed at this property twice and love it. Very cozy and clean. The location is perfect - its only about a block or less to downtown Saugatuck and across the way from the Chain Ferry. There is parking for 2 vehicles- and thats important cos parking can be very difficult during the summer months.

Thank you for the positive assessment of Jan's Cottage. Hearing from someone who's visited Saugatuck over 22 years really means a lot. The fact that it's the best location you've had and the cottage was very clean and had everything you needed should make anyone considering a stay feel very secure in their decision. Thank you for staying and we'll look forward to seeing you again.
We had another wonderful vacation at Jan's Cottage. The cottage is cute and sized just right for for us. We really like the close proximity to downtown which allows us to walk our dog. Gary is always attentive to any issues that arise. We will be back next year!

Thanks for the great review. It is wonderful to see our prior guests come back year after year to stay in Jan's Cottage. The location is perfect being just two houses off the main street andbeing on a dead end means you get little traffic or pedestrian noise. Even if you drsomewhere you always know you have two off street parking spots when you return. The Cottage is ideal for a couple or a family with a small child or two. It's especially great if you bring your pet. Saugatuck is such a fun place and you are so smart to come in the fall when it's easier to get into all the shops and restaurants. We'll look forward to seeing you again next year. Thanks
About the host
Hosted by Janet Kemp
Jan and Gary owned and operated the Marywood Manor Suites and Cottages for over 20 years. Jan was a licensed Real Estate Broker and owner of a local real estate office for many years. Gary was Vice President of a Fortune 500 office furniture manufacture before retirement. They sailed and lived aboard their 44' catamaran for pver 15 winters in Florida and the Bahamas. Since selling their boat in 2015 they have spent winters in Naples, Florida.
Why they chose this property
They bought this cottage because it looked like a wonderful rental cottage and was just across the street from Marywood Manor. The cottage has since been updated with many improvements over the years into one of the more cozy, charming cottages in the heart of downtown Saugatuck
What makes this property unique
You'll love the location of the cottage just off the downtown business district and will appreciate its' quiet seclusion on the dead-end of Mary Street. You'll also love the intimacy and coziness that is very relaxing. Besides being a romantic get away it is also an ideal cottage for a young couple with small children. With a busy kiddie park just a block away and the nice side yard for lawn games and child's play it works perfectly for kids. The owners also accept small pets as long as the tenant agrees to their Pet Policy. There is a large stone patio off the Master bedroom that has an outdoor table and chairs and a chimenea for providing a cozy fire on a romantic evening of quiet conversation and a glass of wine. This cottage has all the privacy and conveniences as well as being in an ideal location with great access to Saugatuck's shops and restaurants.
