The Space This property is on water. The garage is locked and off limits, and the neighbors may walk through the yard on the south side to access the shared dock . There is also a private, shared boardwalk a short walk away (see directions posted at The Lodge), which provides access to a beautiful sugar sand swimming area. Fully outfitted kitchen, dish/dishwasher soap, trash bags, paper products, and coffee pods are onsite. There are towels for showers, but please bring your own towels for swimming at the lake.
Guest access The Cabin has an electronic lock system, with access code provided the day of arrival by Noon. The whole cabin is yours to enjoy, garage not included
Other things to note The Lodge is 5 miles from Lake of the Torches Casino, 14 miles to Minocqua, and many restaurants are in the area. If you do bring/rent watercraft, the boat landing is only two miles away, and you can dock at the pier next door. You are on a pristine, 9 lake chain with great fishing, which provides access to restaurants and the Casino, by water!
In winter, the snowmobile trails are very close, and once again-the (ice) fishing is great! At night have a campfire, & enjoy this slice of paradise!

The Lodge on Big Crawling Stone was the perfect space for our family. It was exactly as described and we had a wonderful time. Check in and check out was an easy process with great communication from the property manager. We definitely hope to be back!
The house was new, clean, and as advertised. The kitchen and wood throughout were beautiful and there were plenty of places to hang outside. The only knock is if you want a sandy beach. The shoreline of the property is mud and plants. Overall, 5 of 5.
The home was spacious and had almost everything we needed for the week. We could tell that the house was clean and well kept, despite some of the outdated amenities (bath towels, bed sheets, blankets).
Our kids rented the motor for the fishing boat and had a blast exploring the lake. We also rented paddle boards which were a hit. The lake was lovely and not busy!
One thing to note if you plan on bringing your own boat - the water by the pier is very shallow with a few obstacles that can't be seen. We had a ski boat and bent our propeller trying to dock. We were lucky that the host lives nearby and was able to help us, as well as Ryden Marina helping with the boat service.

Yes unfortunately the water depth is shallow at the peir we have never had a issue with boats that have trim capabilities this is the first time we had such a large boat (24' super air natiique) fortunately we did make accommodation for them as for "outdated" sheets and blankets I don't understand everything was new on memorial day specific for the hose to be rented and we have recently bought new towels as well but they did not make it in there stay
Families had a lot of Fun! 4 adults, 4 children. Bunk beds were awesome for the kids & they were on separate floor, downstairs. Ping Pong table was a hit! Very nice laundry room & Cabin was equipped with everything we needed for our stay.
The Lake & chain was perfect...all & all, great experience, maybe likely to stay again.
Improvements:
*Greet-Roy, the host was not friendly when booking or meeting when we arrived.
*All furniture out dated-needs improvement!
*Dock set up could be complete, not kid friendly for swimming...no water toys- kayak, paddle board, etc.
*Fire pit-better sitting arrangements
*Better bath towels & more blankets

I'm sorry your family was disappointed in the place we never stated any water toys were available and that it was not kid swimming friendly we make a point of letting people know it is fisherman frontage as advertised in the add at booking , the families were good guests ( house was left clean , unfortunately there dogs left damage that has yet to be resolved financially. I'm also sorry you felt I was rude but everyone has a off day my previous reviews speak for them selves , not sure how I was rude during booking with the exception of going against our policy of no pets witch then resulted in damage and disturbance to the neighbors .
Booked this property for 8 guys to hit up the local golf courses. Beautiful property and great location for everything we wanted to do. Privacy was nice and the place has a beautiful kitchen and great layout overall. Unfortunately the guests before us had trashed the house leaving stains and a mess all over. The owners attempted to clean up as much as possible but left the house with wet carpets, fans running, dirty dishes in the dishwasher, and a funky smell that did not go away the entire weekend. We did receive a call about 2 hours before check-in letting us know that this happened. It would have been nice to have been offered a small amount back on our rental as this was not our fault. Other then that it was a wonderful place and would recommend for family gatherings.

We always leave the dishes in the dish washer after it has been run im sorry the guest felt they were dirty we do have a note in the book that we do this also in the book is directions to the dumpster but the trash was left on the driveway and the animals tore it apart i have a feeling the guest DIDN'T look at the guest book
We had a great week at this lake house. The house is large, was very nice and clean and gave us the peace and quiet we were looking for. It has a great deck looking over the lake and we really enjoyed mornings on the deck with coffee and listening to the birds and the other sounds of nature. The ping pong table in the basement was a huge hit. We had one big concern with the house as the listing said (and still does) that there is a "Minimum 1-day vacancy between guest stays" which we wanted for safety purposes during COVID. However, we learned that this is not the case and there is no such policy.
The only other real issue with the house was the furniture in the living room. There are two futons instead of any couches. While that might be great in order to provide extra places for people to sleep, they were very uncomfortable for sitting purposes.
While the property is a bit of a drivefrom Minocqua (25 minutes or so) that wasn't a problem for us and we enjoyed being a bit far away.
Regardless of these issues, this is a fantastic property if you want to get away for a while.

I am glad you enjoyed your stay despite the issues you stated now I'm not sure why it was said we have futons instead of couches there is not one futon in the house the couches upstairs are IKEA couches and what the owners chose for there house not futons as to the 1 day vacancy between guests I'm not sure where that is as I can't find it in my listing I've checked every setting available to me and my description and can't find it if VRBO is advertising that I'm sorry it's not us .
Overall the property and our stay were excellent. The house overall has a great layout for a family gathering both inside and out. Roy was very responsive to our inquiries before and throughout our stay. Important to note that the lake frontage is not swim frontage (which is clearly noted in the house description), I'm assuming some people overlook. That being siad the pier is great spot for fishing and you can still bring any regular sized boat in and out easily.
I loved the main level of the house. Basement was a fun place for the kids to hang out. Enjoyed renting the pontoon and exploring all the sandbars.
Roy was a great host. He lives just down the road which made it convenient.
