We stayed here to see relatives over Easter weekend. The age range that stayed at the house was 2-88 and everyone loved it. The hosts are amazing and so helpful. It is a beautiful big house in a beautiful setting. The views are spectacular. There is a lot to do all over the area.
Was a great place for our annual 4 couple get together. Host gave us a tour of their farm and there was a wonderful selection of their own farm raised pork, beef and strawberries.
The property was clean, well appointed, had everything we needed and the host was very responsive. The property has amazing landscape and scenery. Plenty of space for our two families to come together for fun, with space for some quiet as well.
Our family came to Vernon Countyfor a celebration of life. The property was amazing. Darcy and her entire family were lovely and gracious hosts. There was room for all of us. We would stay here again anytime.
The host was very nice, helpful, and communicative. Property is lovely, isolated, and scenic - on a working cattle farm. 15 minutes from downtown Viroqua. Several spaces are available indoors and out for socializing. The property description was slightly inaccurate with number of beds, but the owner was very apologetic and actively trying to correct that -she offered compensation for the mistake. The owners allowed us to shelter our vehicles in a large barn during severe weather and actively warned us when a tornado warning was issued for the area. The house is spacious and perfect for our group of 7 men, but would also accommodate several couples with or without kids.It is in the country and on a farm, so there are some bugs in the house (Japanese and other beetles), but that’s farm life and it wasn’t a problem. It was a great homestead for our large group of trout fishermen and we’d recommend it for an outdoorsy escape from the city.

Thank you for stay with us!
There was a sync error with VRBO after our direct hosting site had a software update. The number of beds is now corrected for any future bookings. Sorry again for the error you experienced.
Such a big place! Normally, when we travel as a family, not everyone gets their own bed… but, Darci’s place was so comfortable and everyone slept great in their own bed!!! We did the wine walk in downtown Viroqua and visited shops and parks. Perfect location.
We spent a long weekend with our friends and had a fabulous stay! Some baby pigs were born during the stay and they invited us to come and take a peek. Despite the cold temps and heavy snow, we had a fabulous time playing games, exploring the acreage with our dog, and taking in the views. The hosts are extremely helpful and went above and beyond when our car wouldn’t start on the morning we needed to leave - luckily they were able to help us get it going! We hope to be back when it’s warmer!
Hi, we’re the Daniels family! We’re farmers, parents, and stewards of Garden Ridge Ranch in the Driftless region of southwest Wisconsin. With our four kids, we raise grass-fed beef, pasture-raised pork, and organic strawberries.
We love opening up our farm to guests and sharing this special place. Whether you’re here to unwind, explore, or get a glimpse of farm life, we’re happy to have you.
Why they chose this property
We chose this place because of the land.
The Driftless region is unlike anywhere else — rolling hills, quiet valleys, and a slower pace that’s hard to find these days. It’s peaceful, scenic, and deeply rooted in agriculture, which makes it a special place to live and raise our family.
What we love most is the quiet and the connection to nature. Mornings start with birds, fresh air, and wide open views, and evenings slow down with sunsets over the ridge. At the same time, we’re just a short drive from Viroqua, with great food, farmers markets, and a strong local community.
It’s the best of both worlds — peaceful farm life with a vibrant small-town feel nearby.
What makes this property unique
What makes our place unique is that it’s not just a place to stay, it’s a real, working family farm.
When you stay here, you’re surrounded by the rhythms of farm life, open pastures, animals nearby, and the beauty of the Driftless region in every direction. At the same time, you still have a comfortable, private space to relax and unwind.
We also offer a complimentary farm tour so you can see firsthand how your food is raised and experience life on the farm up close.
The house is stocked with our farm-raised products, grass-fed beef, pasture-raised pork, and organic strawberry goods, available for purchase during your stay, making it easy to enjoy real food right from the source.
Whether it’s watching the sunrise over the ridge, visiting the animals, or simply enjoying the quiet, it’s an experience that’s hard to find elsewhere.
