Memories on Grace Cottage is located in the historic overlay of Downtown Wilmington. With a total living area of 1200 sf, this cozy single story abode is packed full of character and charm. It is 5 minutes from downtown Wilmington with its quaint shopping, restaurants and vibrant nightlife, and 10 minutes from NC's beautiful beaches. It sits at the end of the tree-lined street with Burnt Mill Creek on one side and Mary Bridgers Park behind it.

THE SPACE:
Guest have the entire house which includes 2 bedrooms, living room, dining room, kitchen, office, 1 full bath situated between bedroom and office, and a half-bath in 2nd bedroom. There is a large deck adjacent to Burnt Mill Creek as well as patio with a gas grill.

NOTE:
There is basement apartment, currently occupied, with a separate entrance that is NOT part of Memories on Grace rental.

Guest have access to the entire house with the exception of the basement apartment that has a separate entrance and is NOT included in Memories on Grace rental.

UNCW Graduation Weekend Celebration

Property was clean, quiet nice neighborhood, enjoyed reading about the history of the home, property owner was very responsive and friendly, kitchen was well stocked. Owner added special touches such as providing snacks, drinks, water, bathroom amenities, etc. If in the area would stay there again.

Everything about our stay was perfect. Mission on Grace is a picture-book cottage that is top-to-bottom charming. The bedrooms are appointed with comfort in mind — with dual nightstands, lamps, dresser, ample closet space, luxury linens, and great mattresses. The home has the right mix of work space and areas for relaxation. With easy access to the beaches and historic downtown Wilmington, it is hard to beat the location. The hosts provided welcoming amenities and a guest guide detailing local sights, community resources and more. I had several questions prior to securing our reservation and again prior to our arrival. Donnie was quick to respond, thorough, and cordial. He warmly welcomed us when we checked in was present to wish us well upon departure. We’ve added Mission on Grace to our list of preferred locations.

Your hosts, Donnie Canady, and sister, Sharon Pool, are native Wilmingtonians. We grew up in this house. After our parents passed away, we decided to open it open for short term rental property. Donnie lives next door and is always available to assist with anything you might need. Our hope is everyone that stays at Memories on Grace will be able to create wonderful memories just as we did while spending our entire childhood here!

Why they chose this property

Under the 100-year-old oaks lining the streets of Wilmington's Carolina Heights neighborhood, you can find gracious bungalows, colonial and Tudor revival homes, and cottages, as well as a variety of more modern low-rise apartment buildings. Sitting about two miles north of downtown Wilmington along the Northeast Cape Fear River, Carolina Heights avoids a cookie-cutter feel and brings people out to stroll their historic district.

What makes this property unique

Memories on Grace is located at the end of the street and is situated beside Mary Bridgers Park and Burnt Mill Creek. It is a peaceful, serene area where porch sitting and strolling the neighborhood is always enjoyable.
