Still being cleaned upon arrival. Outside sitting area was not cleaned, we cleaned off cushions and wiped down furniture. Dishes on counter in drainer and milk and food in refrigerator. Bedding and bathrooms were cleaned with plenty of towels, soap, and shampoo very low water pressure. Beds were comfortable and large living room for everybody.
We really enjoyed our stay at this unique home. It's located in a very peaceful setting just a few minutes from downtown Quincy. The living room was large with a beautiful fireplace and lots of comfortable seating. The kitchen had everything that one would need to prepare meals. The 4 bedrooms were good sized and had very comfortable beds with nice linens and there was an abundance of soft fluffy towels in the bathrooms. The 2 decks had wonderful views of the meadow across the road. We liked the central location as we rode to Lake Almanor, Bucks Lake, Graeagle and La Porte for lunch and just enjoyed the beautiful countryside. Kelly the host was very responsive to any questions that we had. We would absolutely stay here again.
We stayed in this house for more than a month. Wonderful and very cozy house. What's amazing is that the house has almost everything that is necessary for life. There was practically not a single little thing that we needed to buy. My business partners from South Africa even said that they are ready to buy this house to turn it into our home in this area next time. Thank you very much for your hospitality and excellent service.
I stayed in this rustic cabin in a beautiful neighborhood and community for three weeks for a work job out of town. Home needs a bit of upkeep; one of the door handles came off in our hand and seems there are a lot of things that are loose or not sitting quite right. The other reviews are accurate - pretty much everywhere you look in every room there is a fox and sometimes more than one. It is the theme of the house, called "fox hollow." Beds were comfortable and there were plenty of bedding items, towels, etc. The ktichen is the very well stocked and has more than anything you could possbily need. The main living room area is also extremely comfortable but keep in mind that during the hot times of the year, that will be the only room with air conditioning because there isn't any upstairs and it got very warm during our stay. We were expecting there to be air conditioning upstairs, but there was not. The bathrooms are all quirky but functional. The bathroom with the clawfoot tub looks nice, but the tub is plastic and small. I fit in it, but I am under 5'2". If you are considering this home, set the expectation that it is a cabin and not a luxury rental and you will be pleasantly surprised. Owner is an excellent communicator.
