This is an exceptional property on multiple fronts: location, amenities, layout, and comfort. I would *highly* recommend it for anyone visiting southwest Michigan.
Location: Just half a block from the center of Douglas, with its quaint shops, good restaurants, and a couple of wine bars/outdoor cafes serving cocktails, and a short walk to Lake Kalamazoo where you can rent a kayak for an easy paddle. It's a 4-minute drive to the center of Saugatuck, with dozens more stores and restaurants. Or a 10-min drive up to Saugatuck Dunes for a great beach walk. Just perfect.
Amenities: The hosts have thought of everything from high-end soaps to hair scrunchies to dog poop baggies and doggie treats to 4 chilled beers in the fridge to a tasteful selection of vinyl albums to play. The hot tub is terrific, clean, and not overly chlorinated. They've thought of pretty much everything.
Layout: The guest house on the other side of the private patio is perfect for another couple or an older child who wants their own space apart from the main house. The private patio in-between gets good sun most of the day and the fire pit, grill and table are all great. The kitchen is small but well-equipped.
Comfort: Both beds have thick/soft/firm mattresses; the sofa and chairs are very comfortable; fans keep the air flowing. We could have stayed far more than the 3 days we rented.
Excellent property that absolutely matches its description. Hope others enjoy it as much as we did!
