Lived up to my expectations. The grounds are beautiful and the space is really cool, comfortable and efficient. It is close to downtown - roughly 15 minute walk and 5 minute drive.
Great place to stay! We were in town for the weekend to go to an Iowa football game - close enough to walk downtown and to kinnick, easy parking, and great communication!

Hi Tory,
Thank you so much for your kind review! I’m glad you enjoyed your stay and that the location worked out so well for the football game and exploring downtown. It was a pleasure hosting you, and we’d be happy to welcome you back anytime!
Best,
Petra
What an amazing place- like stepping into another part of the world. A work of art both outside and in- all the details make this a stand apart stay!! Your garden area is something out of a magazine!!! Delightful stay filled with lots of great memories! Thanks SO MUCH
House location is an easy 1 mile walk to campus. The garden was incredible with a cozy fire pit where we had a nice Fall evening. Automatic Espresso maker made the mornings even better. Bed was nice and comfy. Kids said they slept well on the pull out sofa bed upstairs
We had a great time and the place is very unique and nice..my only complaint would be not enough stuff in the kitchen, no can opener, cheese grater, spatula, potato masher ect...we bought a can opener and potato masher and left it there for future guests.
This is an interesting property. Look carefully at the photos to decide if you like rustic style with European appliances. We think it’s fun to experience something a little different. Although there is a bedroom on the first floor, the only cozy soft chairs to sit on are up the spiral stairs - tricky if you are older or have mobility issues. We enjoyed a sunny afternoon in the wonderful garden, prepared an excellent meal in the kitchen, and slept soundly in the quiet neighborhood. The host, Petra, is very considerate and responsive. We had some trouble figuring out the appliances and she helped us immediately. Chase, the owner’s dog, is sweet and friendly and gentle. We liked visiting him but Petra would have kept him away if we weren’t happy to see him. We recommend this property
Cute place that was perfect for visiting the University of Iowa. Nice and clean and had everything we needed. The hosts were very welcoming and fast to respond with any messages I sent. Even though it is a guest house it feels very private.
Petra was very responsive: This was my first time having a VRBO so I had lots of questions. She was patient and pleasant. I wish the weather had been nicer because the area outside is peaceful and beautiful. It's a secluded corner and very quiet other than birdsong. It's a good place for a quiet retreat with multiple spaces for being together or apart.Inside is very clean and has a minimalistic aesthetic. The bed was softer than I'm used to but I was cozy and woke up feeling rested and pain-free. The kitchen has a lot of amenities that I didn't take full advantage of, but you would have no problem cooking for a small group easily. Bonus points for the electric kettle. The shower with individual sprayer/ rain shower head ran satisfyingly hot for longer than I needed; I brought my own toiletries but they were also provided. There's more that I didn't touch on, but it's a very nice place that's tucked away but minutes from places to go for social activities.
