The villa has stunning views of the sea and mountains. It was built to a luxury specification and the architect has done a wonderful job, taking advantage of the views by designing a 4 bedroom villa which fits perfectly in the land entitled ' Sitio dos Falcoes' (site of the falcons) and creating all 'rooms with a view'. The villa has 3 double rooms & 1 twin with comfortable beds and pillows, duvets, blankets, built in wardrobes and wonderful views of the sea. The villa has 4 bathrooms, two are en-suite, one family bathroom and an additional w/c room. The villa has a sociable open plan kitchen, dining and sitting room area with amazing views of the sea. The kitchen is well equipped with dishwasher, fridge/freezer (incl. ice-maker), hob and electric fan oven. On the veranda is a large eight seater table and a large BBQ. The Cinema / Games Room provides either a haven to escape from the sun, entertainment on rainy days or a venue for after-dinner contests.
On the pool veranda you are surrounded by tropical plants while the kestrels, buzzards and falcons that gave the villa its name circle and hunt. At night the starry skies are amazing. The villa has internet access / WiFi.
Within 20-30 minutes drive you can be at a sandy beach or hiking along a levada in the rainforests, taking a whale and dolphin viewing trip at sea or game fishing. While there are great restaurants a short drive away, we think the best view is from our dining tables and the huge, well equipped BBQ is great for cooking local fish or skewered steak (the local speciality of espetada).

Lovely House in Madeira

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this excellent villa. The weather was a bit hit and miss but we were still able to use the pool as it is heated. The house is spacious with a very useful games room that kept the kids entertained. There is plenty to do locally and the house is a good base for trips across the island.

Madeira girls trip

4 friends came to Madeira to hike. The house was everything we had hoped for, it was just as described. It is beautiful and creates a special feeling. Virginia was very responsive and gave us a packet of amazing information. Check in was easy, and there were explanations for everything. The heated pool at the end of a long day of steps and hills was so very welcome!

Amazing views

We had a wonderful stay at this beautiful villa We were two families staying together with 2 kids (10,12 year old) We had an absolutely wonderful time! The pool was great, stunning views and comfortable house. We travelled all over the island for hikes, restaurants and activities easily and always appreciated coming back to the villa to enjoy the stunning views. There is a great coffee roastery about 15 minutes away by the lighthouse we really enjoyed going to. We hope to be back!

Lovely villa with a stunning view accompanied by Falcons visiting every day. Well appointed with plenty of space and the heated pool was the icing on the cake. Fabulous for the children with their own area downstairs when they were not in the pool. Very clean and well thought out. The service we received from the owners was the best we have ever had, with lots of information and a welcome pack. Highly recommended!

Fantastic stay

Quinta Falcoes is located in a quieter part of Madeira which was exactly what we were looking for. The stunning photos don't even do this villa justice. It's in an absolutely beautiful location and feels very private in that the pool area isn't directly overlooked by other houses. The views of the sea cliffs on a daily basis from the house and pool area were inspirational. Internet was reliable and fast. Jon and Virginia were gracious hosts and quick to reply when we reached out with any questions. We would absolutely visit Madeira and stay at Quinta Falcoes again in a heartbeat.

Great family stay

Stayed here with parent, adult siblings and our 8m old- whole age range. Really enjoyed; - the views. It's like being on a ship with uninterrupted ocean views (though was quite cloudy some days so consider the season you're going) - the space. Baby loved crawling around and we all had enough space to retreat if maxed out socially - games room especially variety of DVDs, games and books There were some very last minute changes to the family holiday and hosts were reachable, thanks for that. I found the drives to various places on the island hit and miss as it was often ~1hr drive depending where you're going. Sometimes it worked perfectly with baby's nap and other times it was pretty challenging so a consideration for anyone who wouldn't want much driving.

Better than the pictures

We had a great stay at this gorgeous accomadation. The pictures do not do it justice. The view from the top level of the property were very special....we watched the sunset many times. The pool was a good size as were the bedrooms and barthrooms. The villa was a great place to visit all key viewpoints, lavada walks (we did PR1, PR11, PR 6, and the hard part of PR19, which is close to the villa), dolphin watching from Funchal marina. Calheta beach, the natural pools at Seixal, the lighthouse and Paul do Mar. The local supermarket by the petrol station had all the food and basics you would need. The cafe on the site also had a bakery selling delicious bread rolls and egg tarts. It sold egg tarts and coffee for 1.5 euros!!! I would fully recommend a stay at this villa. Thanks to John and Virginia, we have all fallen in love with Madeira and would be happy to visit again.

Sehr schön und praktisch angelegtes Haus. Es bedarf etwas Pflege da möglicherweise nicht alle bisherigen Gäste sehr sorgsam mit naturholz Böden und Türen umgegangen sind. Der Warme Pool ist das Beste am Haus.

Heerlijk - genoten van dit prachtig huis

Absolute Ungestörtheit in Mitten der Natur

Wir haben es sehr genossen viel Platz zu haben und auch bei schlechtem Wetter in den wunderbar warmen Pool zu springen. Die Einrichtung ist stellenweise nicht mehr ganz neu und man sieht auch die feuchte Umgebung, jedoch ist das Haus auf keinen Fall muffig. Es ist liebevoll und gemütlich eingerichtet und absolut sauber. Bei Bedarf stehen Reinigungsmittel, Besen und Staubsauger zur Verfügung. Die Kommunikation mit dem Eigentümer war exzellent und lösungsorientiert. Es wurde sofort und unkompliziert reagiert, als wir Probleme mit dem Pool hatten. Danke noch einmal. Direkt vor der Haustür startet ein toller Wanderweg hinab in die Schlucht, der mit den Kindern viel Spaß gemacht hat. Es ist alles da, von Handseife, Spüli, Tabs und Waschmittel. In der Küche finden sich auch ein paar Gewürze. Unbedingte Empfehlung- wir wollen wieder kommen!

Perfekt for flere generationer

Rigtig dejlig ferie. Smukke omgivelser, pragtfuld udsigt, perfekt hus til flere familier sammen, herlig pool. Et dejligt område, der ikke er for præget af turister. Lidt svært at finde frem til indkøbsmuligheder og restauranter, men de er faktisk i området. Kommunikation med agenturet var fraværende. Kommunikationen foregik direkte med ejeren, der til gengæld sendte en meget udførlig velkomstpakke, Minusser:- - opvaskemaskinen kunne være bedre. - der er rotter i området. En enkelt nat kom der en ind i huset, fordi en dør stod åben. - vandet smager ikke godt, selv om det kan drikkes.

Insgesamt ein wunderschöner Urlaub!

Das Ferienhaus war einfach wunderbar - der Blick auf das Meer und die Berge laden zum Träumen ein! Vom Pool und auch aus jedem Zimmer kann man diesen Blick genießen. Dazu frische Garnelen vom Grill und der Tag ist perfekt. Die Matratzen in den Zimmern sind leider schon etwas durchgelegen. Das ist das einzige gewesen, was wir „bemängeln“ könnten. Doch insgesamt waren wir sehr zufrieden und wollen sehr gerne wieder kommen!

Ich denke, Matratzen müssen eine sehr persönliche Vorliebe sein, da wir sie als sehr bequem empfunden haben. Wir hatten keine weiteren Beschwerden darüber, werden aber auf weiteres Feedback achten.

Schön aber Luft nach oben

Wir waren 2 Wochen mit 5 Erwachsenen im Ferienhaus. Die Lage und der Blick sind phänomenal. Das Haus selbst hat einige Mängel vor allem in der Küche. Es fehlte uns einiges an Küchenutensilien und die Küchengeräte sind z.T. kaputt (Dunstabzugshaube) oder funktionieren schlecht ( Geschirrspülmaschine). Wir haben einige Dinge beim Vermieter angefordert und diese auch unverzüglich erhalten . Wir kochen gerne und deshalb haben uns die Mängel in der Küche gestört- die vielen Eidechsen und Ameisen in der Küche und Wohnzimmer sind auch gewöhnungsbedürftig. Auch hätten wir uns über ein Starterset wie Salz , Pfeffer etc. gefreut aber es war absolut nichts im Haus , was wir so noch nie erlebt haben. Die Liegestühle sind in schlechtem Zustand und bei Sonne gibt es auf der Terrasse kaum Beschattung. Insgesamt stimmt das Preis- Leistungsverhältnis allerdings würden wir uns eher nicht mehr für dieses Objekt entscheiden .

We are really disappointed by your review of 3 stars because within 24 hours we fixed the concerns you raised on your first day, including a new coffee machine and fixing the dishwasher by putting more salt in it. We also provided new sharp knives as requested. I’m sorry you did not find the huge sunshade under the stairs as this would have given you the shade you mentioned. We love staying at Quinta Falcoes and are sorry that you felt it only deserved 3 stars.

Auch im Februar fantastisch!

Wir hatten eine sehr schöne Woche im Februar verbracht. Das Wetter war zwar wechselhaft, aber auch in dieser Zeit überwiegend freundlich (kurze Ärmel-Wetter!). Das Haus hat eine tolle Lage, ist modern eingerichtet, hat viele große Fenster, vor allem von jedem (!) Schlafzimmer fantastischer Blick aufs Meer, und von der Terrasse aus bis zum Leuchtturm von Ponta do Pargo. Der Pool ist sehr gut geheizt und wir konnten ihn trotz der Jahreszeit häufig nutzen. Das Spielezimmer im Keller, insbesondere die Tischtennisplatte, wurde von unseren Jugendlichen gerne genutzt. Die Küche und der Grillplatz sind schön. Ein Starterkit für die Küche (Tee, Zucker, Salz, Pfeffer) war vorhanden, ebenso ein paar Spülmaschinen- und Waschmaschinentabs. Ebenso etwas Grillkohle. Ein paar kleine Verbesserungsvorschläge: - bessere WLAN-Abdeckung auch in den Schlafzimmern und vor allem im Hobby-Keller (dann könnte man an dem Riesenfernseher auch einen Streaming-Stick einsetzen) - Guter Staubsauger für zwischendurch - CD-Spieler läuft nicht stabil. Schade, denn die CD-Auswahl war super! Das alles sind keine Beanstandungen, eher kleine Verbesserungsvorschläge. Denn ansonsten für die Lage, die Gemütlichkeit und den netten Kontakt volle Punktzahl. Vielen Danke!

The photos of our family is taken on our favourite day out in Madeira - Whale and Dolphin watching - On this particular day we saw a pod of 6 sperm whales and even managed to film them underwater with a go-pro. We recommend to all our visitors that if you have time to go whale watching as it is an amazing experience to see these animals in the wild.

Why they chose this property

We purchased the land because of the view. We then designed a house that took advantage of this view. It is spacious and all rooms have magnificent views over the sea. We designed the villa with all doors and windows higher than normal (2.2m), so Jon doesn't have to duck but with the added benefit of maximising the views.

From our location 300m above sea level you can see 70km out to sea on a clear day and if you are lucky you might sea whales and dolphins below.

What makes this property unique

The warmest pool on the island (probably) - we don't like swimming in cold pools and so try to keep our pool around 27-29 degrees all year round - it can get up to 32 in the summer!

Guests have given feedback that our description does not give the views enough emphasis. In short, they are stunning, from 300m elevation you can see for miles and miles out to sea - next stop Central America. The sunsets are glorious, the ravine fascinating for wildlife watching and the starry skies immense.

By day, the small road that runs on the far side of the quiet and isolated pool area has only a few cars every day - it is a loop that only serves the houses on Rua do Massapez.
