Great access to the wonderful Captiva Beach; great views of the Gulf. So close to a number of really good restaurants. The owner was very responsive when I had questions.
The beach was still being worked on from the hurricane so you had to climb a sand dune and go across a pipeline to reach the beach. It was almost completed so just a temporary issue. Pretty pool - Very peaceful. You can't go wrong with this rental.
Very clean, what we needed for the weekend. Bathroom is a little tight, but overall great place

all of the one bedroom condos are the same floor plan but what I like is that the sink can be closed off from the toilet and shower nice feature
seems like a normal size bathroom to me but I guess depends on your home
Loved the location and the ease of getting to the beach, pool and quietness. Ease of access to place and able to communicate with owner. Can’t wait to go back.

Had a blast!! Awesome Location.
My boyfriend and I were trying to get away from the hustle and bustle. Captiva Island is the perfect setting! South Seas was a great place and the condo was perfect!

I agree you cannot beat this beach front location I hope to have you back at this or one of my other great units on vrbo
The property is safe, clean, and comfortable. It is short walk to the “downtown” of Captiva Island, Andy Rosse Lane (15 minutes along the road and 10 minutes along the beach).
Beautiful views of ocean and pool.
Outdoor grilling right outside condo. Comfortable and clean. Short walk to Andy Rosse lane for choice of restaurants and general store. Would definitely stay again.

amzing location and glad you found it comfortable and clean so important
We have stayed at South Seas properties many times over the years, but this was our first rental of a privately-owned condo. It was furnished with all the amenities one would need and Kim is a very responsive manager. We would stay here again in the future.

Yes great location and walk to most places easily.
The property was perfect and just what we needed. When we arrived it was very clean. It had everything we needed. We loved sitting on the screened porch during the afternoon rain. The bed is a bit uncomfortable but other than that it was perfect!

It is so important to have a spotless unit as you actually communicated with me when you arrived as well you told me you had never seen such a clean unit and I am so happy to provide that.
EXCELLENT LOCATION on Captiva. Loved being beachfront, right by the pool, and walkable to coffee, markets, and restaurants. Nice to have a cooler bag, beach chairs, towels, umbrella on hand. Host was communicative with info and quick to respond. The property needs a little attention to detail that would go a long way. The king bed sheets were super pilled and scratchy, the shower makes a screeching sound when the hot water runs, one of the beach chairs had a broken rusted leg needs to be tossed, peeling paint on the walls, baseboards are dusty, the 2/3 of the beach towels were not great quality ... things like that. Also noticed that almost none of the furnishings/decor in the listing match what is in the unit (except the couch and bed).We still had a wonderful time and really enjoyed the spot, but probably would not book it again unless there have been evident updates.
There is still a LOT of construction going on around you. We didn't care that much but couldn't have the door to the patio open.

Great location, nice unit, well equipped kitchen, beach chairs etc, but dirty bedroom carpet.
Great location! Ocean side, short walk to beach, walking distance to Doc Fords restaurant and other restaurants close by. Well equipped kitchen. Unit clean except for very dirty carpet in bedroom. Would highly recommend replacing carpet with tile!! Most ocean villas we’ve stayed in have tile throughout with area rug in bedroom. Overall, had a fantastic time and loved the location!

Yes just after your stay we had the carpet cleaned (steam cleaned) it is hard to keep clean with all the dirt that comes in the sand yes we will be replacing the carpet soon I hope we can schedule it they only allow us to do that kind of work a few weeks of the year and we are waiting to hear as per the condo association due to noise. They have not approved a time as of yet then I have to try to get someone to do it within that time frame of about a week. But we do realize it and keep getting the carpet cleaned on a monthly basis
Enjoyed our stay at Captiva. Loved the shampoo, conditioner, body wash station in shower. Kitchen was very well furnished. Beach furniture very nice. Bed was slightly uncomfortable on the side closest to wall had indentation. Couch very uncomfortable. Only real issues were wifi was not always accessible when in the living area or on Lanai. Land line handsets not operable.

Makes sure you were using my wifi not the one for the resort maybe you were on that one important to use mine better reception
Also sofa sleepers are not comfortable and I do not recommend it for sleeping by two adults or even one a child is ok due to the weight but I would not want to be on a sleeper as an adult
Glad you enjoyed the beach and great location. Play the beach items supplied.
Such a beautiful area! I was confused at first when entering the rooms because it was different furniture than was in the advertisement but preferable anyways. It did smell a little like cigarettes, but once you open the doors, it dispelled. The island was clearly decimated, and there is construction going on on the parking lot side and a lot of foliage and landscaping needed to be done poolside. The pool in front of the condo wasn’t really usable and had orange hazard fencing in front of it, but the two other pools were working and beautifully landscaped. The access to the beach was so key to just come in back-and-forth and the amenities in the rooms were perfect. Just the right amount of everything that one would need. It made for such a happy stay.

NEEDS SOME WORK
Floors where filthy upon check in. Outlet in bathroom did not work. Exhaust fan in bathroom slowed down and got very loud so we stopped using it (second day ). loose out lite receptacles , missing outlet cover in kitchen. Toaster
oven in kitchen looks like it had been threw a war. Bathroom tub disgusting upon check in.
This was a clean condo, in the perfect location, with a view of the Gulf and sunsets. Short walk to the pool and beach. Easy walk to Doc Ford's, Starbucks, provisions store, and Island Adventure rentals where we got our golf cart. We even walked to RC Otters one morning. The screened in lanai was great and had lots of pool/beach items to use. There is a disclaimer that these items may or may not be there depending on renters damaging items, but there were lots of items, chairs, umbrella, noodles, raft, beach toys. We had plenty of towels and pillows and kitchen items. The check in and check out instructions were simple. We did not have access to thr resort amenities since we booked with VRBO, which we knew ahead of time, and we didn't feel like we were missing out on anything. We we had everything we needed right at this beach villa. The grounds are beautiful. We really enjoyed our stay.

on edge
amenities include soap and shampoo, towels, sheets, beach chairs, coffee filters, cutlery. but the dishwasher didn't work, left a big pool of dirty water after it ran, and fixtures in the bathroom like the shower doors, spigot in bathtub, and toilet paper holder were all loose and kind of falling off. one chair at the table had a leg coming off. mattress on fold out had stains on it, the bedroom had no window. it is a lovely location on the beach, and security was good, but the pool was shut and surrounded by construction tape, and this resort is an active construction site with steamshovels and heavy equipment starting work daily between 7 and 8 am right outside the entry door. Found many lovely shells, though!
BEAUTIFUL CAPTIVA, CONDO OWNERS WORKED WITH US DURING CORONA VIRUS EPIDEMIC, WHILST OWNER HAD IT, WHICH WE VERY MUCH APPRECIATED . CONDO ITSELF IS A LITTLE DATED AND FURNITURE(COUCH) WORN AND WITH STAIN ON IT, BUT WAS SUFFICIENT. THE SCREENED IN PORCH WAS AWESOME AND WE SPENT MOST OF OUR TIME OUT THERE HAVING MEALS AND COCKTAILS MOST MORNING AND EVENINGS. GARBAGE DISPOSAL NEEDED SERVICING AND MIGHT NEED TO BE REPLACED, BUT NOT A BIG DEAL. I"M SURE THEY WILL UPDATE IT. OWNERS EVEN SUPPLIED CHAIRS AND UMBRELLA FOR BEACH WHICH WERE VERY NICE TO HAVE. OVERALL WE ENJOYED THE CONDO AND EXTENDED OUR STAY AS THE LOCATION IS VERY MUCH DESIRED.

so glad to work with you with this virus thing.
guests do leave stains on stuff we get the furniture cleaned when needed with the virus though as you may expect this steamers are not working. We did our best to remove the stain with cleaner but when the steam guys start working again we will get it cleaned. But glad you loved the unit overall and you enjoyed the beach items supplied.
I did just put some new appliances in this year and also new flooring in the unit and got rid of all the carpet a huge upgrade we are always doing upgrades a few at a time.
I have been taking the garbage disposals out as well as they fail since people put shells down them for some reason so we will end up taking that out as well as needed
Location was good and instructions to access the unit were accurate. Check in time was 4pm. We arrived at 4:15. The problem was, another guest was already there with the same reservation. Left a vm and dm with the host at 4:30. Didn’t get a response from the host for 3 hrs. It was late Friday afternoon and we had to try and find alternate accommodations...we were lucky to find one. The host explained the other guest was in the wrong unit…not sure how they knew the unit # and access code. Very stressful and unfortunate situation. Cannot review the unit as we never got in to see it.

Vrbo gave the guest the access code when the guest told them the unit number the guest was in the incorrect unit not my fault and what a mess I cannot believe vrbo gave the code out to a unit that the guest did not book this is crazy I am removing all access codes from vrbo so this cannot happen again totally crazy vrbo does not take responsibility for it I was piloting so did not reply for 3 hours I was in flight.

I have been coming to South Seas since my 18th Brithday. I am not going to mention how long ago that was but suffice to say that was a long time ago and I still love it!!!!
We have 6 total units in South Seas that we rent. We absolutely love this beach. The shelling is amazing. There is usually a very nice breeze and we love to sit on the screened in patio and watch the sun set. There is nothing like sitting and watching the sun set.
Why they chose this property
We love to vacation here it is very relaxing and has great sunsets.
Located in the South Seas Resort in the beach villas in an elevator building
• 15 magnificent miles of white sandy beaches and a treasure chest of shells • 74.4° annual average air temperature • 77.5° annual average water temperature • 7 days a week of trophy fishing • 20+ miles of tropical bike paths • 300 species of birds, 50 species of reptiles and amphibians, and more than 30 types of mammals live here
What makes this property unique
We have an owner locker, with 4 beach chairs, umbrella but not guaranteed since they get broken frequently and do not get reported broken, cooler, and sand toys. This is a GREAT benefit to have access to this locker area since any other properties I have seen for rent other than ours do not have this option. If you rent with others you will have to get or bring your own beach chairs, unbrella, and cooler. This can be expensive and I provide it for free with your rental. You also have access to this on the first floor so that you are not dragging this stuff into the unit and getting sand everywhere. Renters comment on this great benefit all the time for our other units on VRBO.
