Hobbie's Hideaway - Fall Dates Available

A relaxing escape for couples and families.

Our condo features an open floor plan with two spacious decks with great views of the gulf and lagoon from every room. Living area features a 42in HD/DVR TV, Wireless High Speed Internet, Queen sleeper sofa and 2 recliners. The kitchen is well equipped and also includes a laundry closet with full-size washer and dryer.

Upstairs, the Bedrooms includes a bedroom with a Queen bed & private bath. Second bedroom with 2 TwinXL beds (can be pushed together for king) & a private bath. Each bedroom has direct access to the covered porch with great views of the gulf and lagoon. Each bedroom is equipped with a 32in TV and radio/alarm clock.

Wonderful Escape

This property is a gem! It is across the street from the ocean on a beautiful stretch of beach. The condo has plenty of room and is clean and comfortable. I highly recommend staying here.

This condo has all a little family could need! It was clean upon arrival, everything functional. There's pots and pans and dishes for cooking. Love this little place. The lagoon is a magical place!

Nice quiet place

Be ready for stairs! But overall a diamond in the rough. Nice location, semi-private beach access and a pool for relaxation. Kitchen is stocked with almost every appliance you might need during your stay. Will definitely be booking this condo to stay in again!!

We really enjoyed our stay. The place was very clean and welcoming. We had a minor a/c issue on our first night. The owner quickly handled the situation and provided accommodations in the mean time. Excellent communication. We would stay here again!

Great Little Place

Enjoyed our stay at Hobie Hideaway. Had a little problem manuvering the stairs to the bedroom due to my bad knee.....but wasn't a problem for the others staying here. Unit was fully stocked with everything we needed for cooking and cleaning. Had other family members staying next door at Sunwatch Cottages so the location was perfect for hanging out together. Short walk to beach. Loved the ramp instead of stairs for getting on the beach....less stress on old ppl...lol.

This was a perfect property for myself, my husband, my son and his son.

We had a great time at the beach. Very short walk to beach or the lagoon. The condo is set up nice with everything you need. It was clean and everything worked as it should, no complaints at all and would definitely stay again.

This is a place that is very homey. The twin beds were great for our 2 kids. They enjoyed being able to sit on the balcony. Bathrooms and kitchen were clean. We had enough towels for everyone. There were extra beach towels too but luckily we had our own. The kitchen was well stocked but we didn't actually cook other than a quick breakfast and lunch. It is a very short walk to the beach. The beach area was not very busy. The condo itself is pretty far away from the tourist stuff which is what we wanted. The interior decorating is different from the pictures but it's still similar. There isn't a beach view like the pictures show because someone built a house there but you can catch glimpses of the ocean and you can still hear it and feel the breeze. We would absolutely stay again and plan to if we can make it back down next summer. Thanks to the hosts for sharing their lovely space.

Great location

Very clean, easy to find, great location! Very little traffic which made getting across the street to the beach easy. Quiet and away from the crowds that were more towards The Hangout and Pink Pony but could be back to Gulf Shores Parkway within 5-7 minutes. We enjoyed fishing and swimming in the lagoon as well! I would recommend this place to anyone wanting to go to Gulf shores!!

Great stay at Hobbies Hideaway in Heron Landing

You cant beat the location of this place! The beach is an easy walk across the road, and is away from most of the large crowds so it is easy to find your own space. The lagoon access is also a nice feature. The kids like going there to search for crabs and whatever else is hanging out in the water. The condo was well stocked with most things we needed and it is an easy an drive to the grocery store for food and supplies. We would definitely stay here again! else is hangong

Short walk to the beach, perfect little house.

Beautiful community. Beach access takes less than 2 minutes (and we have 2 small children). Great area to hang out. Love the open floor concept. Upstairs was great. It was nice having a bathroom in each bedroom PLUS a half bath downstairs. There’s an outdoor shower in the parking area. The complex pool was perfect. Docks for fishing were great. Our girls enjoyed the twin beds. My husband and I on the other hand had a terrible time with the mattress on the queen bed. I would highly recommend getting a different mattress. The doors to the balconies were hard to open as well. Fix the mattress and the doors and it’s a 5 star property for sure! Overall, we will absolutely be back!!

Great accommodations

We had a great week using this rental property. Very quick walk to the beach across the road (boardwalk is between two blue houses, not a pink one anymore as listed in the info). Has a few steps so be prepared for that when loading your beach wagon for your day at the beach. The kitchen had everything we needed for cooking a few meals and we enjoyed sitting outside on days when it wasn’t rainy. The beds were our only complaint the entire week. They are sleep number blow up mattresses. Very uncomfortable. Another reviewer mentioned the Queen sheet needing to be replaced and I fully agree. It is very pilled and uncomfortable feeling. We flipped the sheets and it wasn’t as bad. Also, a few quick fixes need to be done to the place, such as replacing broken light switch plates but it really doesn’t ruin your stay- just probably time to do spend some money fixing these things. Would definitely rent here again as recommend to friends. Thank you!

Why they chose this property

This area of the beach is less crowded and the property is just a few steps away from the beach on one side and the lagoon on the other. The complex is just 14 units, so it's not crowded. We love to relax on the deck swing in the evenings and our kids love to fish off the dock on the lagoon and play in the surf on the beach.
