About the host
Hosted by Sarah Peters
We are a family of 4 with two wonderful boys. Ryan is a local firefighter and Sarah is a Nurse. We bought the cabin to get out of the city and to have guests enjoy the most wonderful landscape. The wildlife and scenic views have not disappointed. We love sitting on the back deck and staring at the endless sky. Our family loves to travel, learn about new places and their history.
Why they chose this property
We chose this neighborhood in Woodland Park, Colorado, because it embodies everything we were seeking in a mountain retreat: breathtaking scenery, peaceful surroundings, a welcoming community, and close access to adventure. Perched high in elevation, the neighborhood offers majestic views of Pikes Peak and the surrounding forests, giving the impression that you’re floating above the clouds. The sense of awe we felt the first time we visited hasn’t faded. Every day here brings something new—a glowing sunrise, the gentle rustle of wind in the pines, a family of deer passing through the yard.
What truly makes this place special is its perfect balance of seclusion and accessibility. Though it feels like a remote mountain escape, it's only minutes from downtown Woodland Park. We love that we can spend the morning exploring mountain trails or sipping coffee on the deck and then drive ten minutes to grab groceries, visit a local café, or browse charming small-town shops. The people here are genuine, kind, and connected to the land. It’s a place where neighbors wave, wildlife roams freely, and stars light the sky without city glare.
We also value how this neighborhood supports both rest and recreation. Whether you're snowshoeing in winter, hiking Mueller State Park in summer, or watching leaves turn golden in fall, there's always something to see and do. Ultimately, we chose this neighborhood not just for its beauty, but because it offers a space to reset, reconnect, and live in harmony with nature.
Living here feels like stepping into a postcard every single day. It’s not just the scenery—it’s the quiet moments, the cool mountain air, and the feeling of being fully present. Whether you're here for a weekend or longer, this neighborhood has a way of helping you slow down, breathe deeper, and truly relax.
