Very scary dog next door that charged at us upon arrival and a couple more times at the front door. Someone is going to get bit. The heat was turned up to the max upon arrival. The heat in the house was 90 degrees upon arrival. Otherwise very nice house.

The stay was great. One thing I feel I should have been notified of was the fact that a wildfire was very close days before I left on the trip. I found out while in transit and reached out to the manager. The reply was dismissive stating air quality index was 16 (good). I didn't feel completely safe the first night and was angered that I wasn't notified. As it turned out, the manager was correct [she said it shouldn't be a problem]. The wind and humidity helped her to be accurate. I did get a notification about the fire possibly impacting my trip to a nearby rafting expedition but no notice from VRBO even though I had to drive a hwy declared potential evaluation ready.

Leadville, and this home, were never in any evacuation or even pre-evacuation status. As mentioned, our air quality was better than most of Colorado. There are many fires burning throughout the western united states, and pretty much wherever you travel you may be near one. We were juggling the many guest concerns with compassion and trying to comfort those with concerns. The media did make the fire a larger issue than it was for us on the ground in Leadville. We are glad that you enjoyed your stay here and hope to host your next stay in Leadville!

The house is great! Very well done and lives as good as it looks. The couch was not cheap “looks good but sits terribly” but rather something very comfortable that I would have at home. I was concerned there might be noise since it is close to Main Street but everything was super quiet. I slept like a baby! Leadville is a wonderfully quaint town with great food and Ski Cooper (49/day lift tickets, 60/day rentals, and no lift lines)! Loved everything!!

This place is adorable! The only down side is the beds. The front bedroom bed was so hard our friends took turns sleeping on the softer trundle bed. Our bed in the back bedroom sloped down 3” or more making the blood rush to our heads. We finally remade the bed and slept with our feet towards the head board. The place was clean, inviting and the kitchen is well equipped. They need a cushy mattress pad for the one bedroom and something to level the bed in the other bedroom.
