This unique two bedroom cabin is like nothing you've ever seen or stayed at before. Located in the woods at the tip of Leelanau County, it lies on the shores of beautiful Cathead Bay - a natural, pristine, sandy bay with shallow water for great swimming, kayaking, and water sports. This is the getaway location with access to an inland lake for fishing, bird watching, and hiking. Miles of uninterrupted beach makes for pleasant walks searching for Petoskey stones or enjoying the ever changing shoreline, natural dunes, and area wildlife.

This distinctive cabin sleeps 4 with two Queen Beds. It includes a fire-pit, gas-grill, and an open deck that allows for awesome sunrises, sunsets, and star-gazing. Don't let your fantastic 'Up North' experience end with summer. This area is well known for its spectacular Fall Color Tour. You can enjoy being in the center of the amazing color changes with biking, golfing, hiking and wine tasting.

The Cabin at Cathead Bay is a place to take you 'Off The Grid' and enjoy a peaceful, affordable get away.

NOTE: From June through Mid-September, the Cabin on Cathead Bay is only rented on a weekly basis from Sunday to Sunday. For reserving during this time, please indicate your Sunday to Sunday dates on your booking.

A Northern Oasis

The Cabin on Cathead Bay is a beautiful property with much to recommend it. We were looking for a relaxed setting, plenty of privacy and the feeling of being surrounded by nature, all of which we had in abundance. And what to say of the view? Simply spectacular!The kind and helpful hosts have thought of everything to make a stay at the cabin cozy and comfortable, and we felt no need to go anywhere else. Small but Lovely

The cabin is in a lovely spot on Lake Michigan. The beach is beautiful. The large windows allow a spectacular view. The cabin is clean, attractive and very well kept. We all would prefer some covering for bedroom and bathroom windows. But we very much enjoyed our time there.

Serenity and a whole lot of fun

Beautiful cottage. Gorgeous (private) beach. Pretty spectacular. The location is grand... fun little resort towns close by. Vineyards and wineries, too. But most of all... it's the beach. And the water. Cathead Bay on Lake Michigan is something else. And the owners are super nice, too.

Our second stay at The Cabin

The weather was challenging for the first ten days on this our second stay here. Even so it was fun to sit in front of the picture windows and watch the storms move across Lake Michigan. Then the weather changed and it was even more fun. this is a fabulous location.

Cant beat the View

I really liked the location of this place. The view is unbeatable. I liked the beach a lot as well. It is about a 3/4 miles if that to the east for the state park. We made the walk many times and found many stones. Peterson Park is right around the corner along with Christmas cove. One down fall was the mosquitoes but not the owners fault. Cabin could use a full size fridge. I came with me wife and two children. I would consider rerenting but at a later date without the kids. Cynthia was easy to deal with.

Cathead Bay Happy Place

This truly unique cabin directly on Cathead Bay of Lake Michigan is a one of a kind vacation opportunity! This vacation home is as close to the beach as you can get without being on it. The quiet, private beach is conducive to long leisurely walks while frequently being distracted by the next pretty stone on the sand. The cabin itself is always spotless (my wife and I have stayed there several times), comfortable and well stocked with everything needed to enjoy this corner of paradise. The nice pair of binoculars were very valuable to keep tabs on the frequent wildlife sightings, sail boats as well as the occasional ship passing in the distance. All of this is greatly enhanced by large picture windows across the entire beach side of the cabin. The panoramic views of Cathead Bay and beyond are changing constantly and never get old. In short, there is nothing I would change about this amazing cabin. It has become a true happy place for us and many others who have had the great fortune to stay there!

Cathead Cabin Escape

My wife and I have stayed at the cabin annually for the last 5 years. Our first impressions of this property were that we had stumbled onto a little piece of heaven. Our opinions have not changed. The cabin is unique, comfortable, consistently clean inside and out with a to die for view of Cathead Bay from the deck or through two huge picture windows. Miles of walkable beach are steps away with more than enough petoskey stones and other beach treasures to make the beautiful walk even more interesting. Every year we return there are additional upgrades to an already well equipped rental. This cabin has, without a doubt, become our favorite get away from it all vacation destination. It is in fact a piece of heaven.

Why they chose this property

This lakefront property was purchased in the early 1900's by the Bradley family and passed down to the current owner. The cabin was started in 1968 and became a summer working project for the entire family.

What makes this property unique

Clear days provide views of both North and South Fox Islands. Mackinac sailboats can be seen during the annual race. Not uncommon for sailboats to anchor in the bay overnight. Light from the Lighthouse can be seen at night along with excellent star gazing. This property has the best section of beach on Cathead Bay!
