"La Lune Noire NOLA"
Some houses hold their breath when strangers enter. La Lune Noire exhales.
This century-old New Orleans home has been reborn — not renovated, reborn — into something that blurs the line between sanctuary and spectacle. Original hardwood floors, luxury bedding, hotel-quality beds, and curated décor inspired by NOLA's vibrant culture set the stage for something unforgettable.
Three private bedrooms and two full bathrooms make La Lune Noire the perfect retreat for groups, girls trips, and celebrations that deserve to become legend. Cook together in the chef's kitchen, lose yourselves in the stylish living room, then slip out to the tropical backyard oasis where the 8-foot cowboy pool glitters beneath string lights and a Meyer lemon tree keeps its fragrant, silent watch.
But it's the details that linger.
A golden gator reading lamp. Serpents curling across the ceiling. A moss-covered disco ball catching light like a spell mid-cast. Tarot and voodoo-inspired art — not decoration, but invitation. A working record player, needle poised. And somewhere behind a door that doesn't announce itself, a photo-worthy speakeasy holds court.
La Lune Noire doesn't just house you. It claims you.
New Orleans is right outside whenever you're ready.

This property is so precious! The interior decoration is beautiful and unique. The host was very communicative and checked on us each day throughout our stay. We will definitely book again when we are in NOLA.

Thanks so much, LeAnne! You were one of the first guests to stay at the redesigned “Lune Noir”, so I’m so glad you loved the design! Hope to host you again soon!
The house was as described and very clean. It is right on St. Claude which is a very busy street with several bars right near by but the house itself was very quiet. Coffee, linens, soap & shampoos all provided. Beds were very comfortable. Ben, the host, was very communicative and helped us along the way. We didn’t use the pool but the backyard is spacious and comfortable. It’s a little pricey for its location but I would otherwise recommend to anyone looking for a 3br/2ba on the edge of the Marigny. Thanks for letting us stay!
The house was in a very convenient location to some great parts of town. Beds were comfortable. Ben was easy to communicate with and sent some great suggestions for things to do!
The place is advertised as a remodeled Victorian. It is noted to be close to an upscale grocery. We did not find either of these to be true. Neither the host nor Verbo were helpful. This place was a bait and switch in my opinion.

Thank you for your feedback, Lydia. We'd like to address a few points for future guests.
La Lune Noire is a Victorian home built over 100 years ago, completely redesigned in early 2026 with all-new paint, furnishings, and immersive artwork — a transformation our guests have loved. Robert's Fresh Market is one block away, with its exact location in our guidebook and on Google Maps. Our listing describes the Saint Claude Arts District in detail, and we encourage guests to read it thoroughly before booking.
Lydia raised concerns about an "adult club" nearby and sent us a photo of the legendary Allways Lounge — a beloved, gay-friendly theater and bar that hosts an eclectic mix of burlesque, comedy, drag, karaoke, and traditional theater. We're sorry that wasn't her group's cup of tea, but it's very much part of the vibrant character of the neighborhood our listing describes.
Lydia booked for one night but did not stay. We were unable to offer a refund under the strict cancellation policy under which she booked.
La Lune Noire is a wonderful home for the right traveler — we simply ask that guests read the listing before booking.
Ben was an awesome host, and this is the perfect house for a trip to New Orleans. There were 4 of us staying here, but it could have comfortably hosted more. The beds were comfortable, and the house was very quiet inside making for a great night's sleep. The house is also well stocked with everything you need for your stay. The house is a close walk to the French Quarter, and near all of the Marigny hot spots. This is my fourth time staying in NOLA, and this was my favorite house I've stayed in. We'd definitely stay here again.
We had a wonderful stay! Ben was easy and quick to communicate with and the location was close to all the things we wanted to do! The AC was a life saver too!
We had a fabulous stay! The pool was such a nice amenity to have when it’s a super hot and humid September. Ben was incredibly responsive to any questions we had and was very kind. He even let us check in 5 hours earlier than their check in time being so accommodating of our early flight arrival time. Would stay here again! The surrounding neighborhood also has yummy food and fun bars right across the street. Had a great 30th birthday, thank you Ben.
The location and unit were both awesome! Perfect for getting to and from Frenchman street but still close enough to walk to and from the French Quarter
Cute house with super comfy beds and pillows. Enjoyed having the garden outdoor space when we needed a break from exploring the city. Convenient grocery store across the street too and great nearby restaurants!
Great stay in Nola with friends. Perfect location! Walking distance to Frenchman St where all the music happens. We also walked home from the French Quarter. Beds were comfortable and house had everything we needed. Booking was easy and Ben and his team were available 24-7 if needed.
Even though it's on St. Claude, it was easy to find convenient parking and there are lots of good restaurants and bars, plus a drug store and grocery, in easy walking distance. The neighborhood seemed quite safe. The host is very nice and quickly responded helpfully to every message. The kitchen is very nice and well equipped. The bathrooms are very clean with good showers and well supplied but very small. The beds are good and the bedrooms are quiet but very small.
The location was a lil suspect at first glance, but once you got inside it was very nice for me party of 4. The only issue we had was the door code didn’t work for us, but they did have a key in the lockbox. The ceiling fans were everything, keeping us very cool day/night. We rented a car and everywhere we went felt like it was only a 10-15 minute drive. Every time l sent the host a message l, they got back to me pretty quickly and truly appreciated that. I would definitely stay here again.
Ben is a super host! The house is very clean, nice decor, beds comfortable, and the air conditioner works great! It was very steamy when we were there. The neighborhood was very eclectic and funky. I enjoyed it. Everything from high end restaurants, to dive bars, a burlesque club, and a school. So New Orleans. The street was super busy and on Friday and Saturday, they really party. Anyway I loved it! If you’re looking for quiet this ain’t it but it was exactly what I was looking for in New Orleans. Thanks Ben!!

Thanks for your review, Mary! We loved hosting you and appreciate you highlighting the vibrant nature of the neighborhood! Guests should check out my other three listings, all in quiet neighborhoods, if they're not looking to be in the center of the party.
This place was fantastic. We stayed here with another couple and a friend. There was plenty of space and privacy for all 5 of us, and probably could've even fit a few more. It was incredibly hot out when we visited, but the home was always nice and cool. I would definitely stay here again. We didn't make use of the outdoor space behind the property, but had it not been so oppressively hot, I think we would have. It was also very nice having laundry on-site, so we didn't have to pack as much and could clean our clothes midway through our trip. There was a bit of a discrepancy in the location between when I was reviewing the property and when I booked it, but I know they can't give out exact addresses on the maps before booking. There also wasn't any toilet paper when we arrived, but our contact placed an order for some to be delivered, and we walked the couple of blocks to Walgreens to grab a couple of rolls in the meantime.
We were in town with another couple for a wedding and really just used the house to get dressed and sleep. The house was clean, the photos were accurate and the hosts responded quickly to my emails/texts.
Unfortunately, there was a problem with the a/c on the day we were trying to get ready for the wedding. The house heated to a toasty 79 while we were dressing and never dropped below 78 while we were sleeping. When I notified the hosts, they said that the older houses get warmer in the peak of the day. That sounded reasonable until we realized that it had not been hot on either of the previous two afternoons. That ended up being our last day there so we did not pursue the a/c issue with the hosts.
If the a/c problem was due to the heat of the day, beware of that when booking. If the a/c issue was a mechanical issue it would have been nice to have had it repaired before bed that evening or to have had extra fans.
