This place was a perfect location for exploring New River Gorge national Park, Babcock State Park and Hawks nest. Very centrally located to all in addition to wonderful restaurants and breweries. The beds were very comfortable and we loved having all of the space to relax at the end of the day. The kitchen was big enough and well equipped to make some of our dinners and breakfast. The full size washer and dryer were a big plus! Communication was easy with the host with any questions we had coming up.
We had a great time at this house. It had everything we needed and mutiple spacious areas to spend time together for my bachelor trip. Close to all the activities outdoors as well. The only complaint is that Sasquatch must’ve been off this weekend because we didn’t get a selfie. Maybe next time;)
Great property for our family of 6! We spent two days at Ace and were only 10 minutes away. This is a super kid-friendly home with lots of games and huge bean bag chairs. Sharing one bathroom was a little difficult, but we made it work. Queen mattresses are extra firm. Overall, great stay!
, super responsive host and the house is super close to all of the great activities! We will definitely be back!

The Sasquatch Retreat was a quirky, cozy stay. It was very conveniently located for the sites we wanted to see around the New River Gorge National Park. It had 3 downstairs bedrooms with additional beds upstairs that we didn't use. The house does only have one bathroom. The entire house, inside and out, is decorated with a Sasquatch theme, which my kids enjoyed. The hosts also provided a fun scavenger hunt around house looking for mini-figurines of Sasquatch. The house is older than we anticipated and a bit aged. Overall the stay was fine.
This was a great property for our family (with small kids and a dog) for a long weekend to New River Gorge NP. The house was well equipped for us all. The kitchen had all the basics needed, a small charcoal grill on the deck, a firepit with firewood, a restaurant style highchair for our 1yr old, basketball game and foosball table for the 5yr old, basic supplies like dishsoap, laundry soap, papertowels, tp and whatnot. We really only had to purchase food. This was an excellent value for the and close to all the parts of the park we wanted to see. The only thing I'd suggest to others is that if you have a dog that bolts, the gate to the yard was broken so the fence doesn't really contain them. Was a nonissue for us as our dog sticks close to us. We will definitely stay here again!

Hi Tara! Thanks so much for this review. We are so glad you enjoyed the place. We were at the house only a couple weeks after your stay for some maintenance. The gate has since been fixed :) The bathroom has also been completely redone! We hope you'll stay with us again if you're ever in the area.
This is an amazing home base for your New River Gorge adventure. The hosts were extremely communicative. Upon arrival there was scavenger hunt for the kids which allowed the adults to unpack and relax after the drive. The property is spacious with four bedrooms, 8 beds, and a game room. The kitchen is nice if you plan on eating in.The property is close to many attractions and rafting providers such as Ace. It is also a short drive to Fayetteville which has many cool shops and restaurants. The yard is fenced and fairly large. If you have an athletic dog, it will be able to hop the fence, so this isn't a place you'd want to leave your dog outside unsupervised, but there's more than enough space to exercise a dog without needing to take it on a long hike or walk. If I had one quibble, the grass was quite long when we arrived and was mowed toward the end of the trip. This meant we tracked grass into the house that we felt obligated to clean up. Again, this is a very small quibble. There was a nice fire pit in the backyard; we didn't have time to use it, but had it not rained our first night, we definitely would have.I would definitely recommend this place if you heading to the New River, especially if you plan on bringing your pet along for the trip.
Cute house, loved the theme. Would have liked a more stocked kitchen as far as dishware, pots/pans, toaster, etc. The kitchen was very minimal if you plan to cook. Also be very careful with the steep and slippery steps to the 2nd floor. I’d give it 5 stars if it had more of an outdoor space. The back porch was very rundown and fire pit was not usable. But, overall, the house was great and we were happy with our stay!
