Family getaway to New Orleans! My husband and daughter’s first time to the Big Easy with 4 adults, an infant, and our dog. It was the perfect place outside of the city, but still close enough to make a couple of trips a day to the French Quarter. The house had everything we needed, including a yard for our dog, and the host was attentive and available at a moments notice! The neighbors were also welcoming and the area was quiet! We will definitely be back!

Cute, cozy and comfortable!

This house was perfect. Very clean and comfortable and spacious. We were 4 adults, visiting Laura plantation and World War 2 museum and found this property perfectly located in between. Walter thought of everything- home is very well furnished and supplied with all needs. It's just as nice as the photos. We enjoyed a great restaurant just down the street. The power went out only for a couple hours with some weather and Walter was kind to check in on us, he even had a Handy flashlight in the closet. We will definitely stay again!

Modern appointments in vintage charm

The place was extremely well appointed. The dishes, linens and decor was all top-of-the-line. In fact, I have to say I have never stayed anywhere that had a diffuser on the blow dryer in the bathroom and I always need one for my curly hair so thank you for that extra thoughtfulness! They left us small things like coffee pods, laundry soap and even plastic bags and half-and-half. It was very well stocked and super clean! The only reason I didn’t give this a five star was the location was a little bit offputting. it’s in the center of an industrial area so if you would like to take a walk or run in the morning, this location would not really be aesthetically pleasing. The neighborhood is so so. The house next-door is rundown. But I didn’t feel unsafe because it seems like a lot of great people live around there. Destrehan itself is a friendly community and we really enjoyed everyone we met. I would say the only thing I would change is the beds are a little hard maybe put a mattress topper on it to give it a little more softness. Walter was very responsive overall it was wonderful. Great place if you have a family and the bathtub was just extraordinary. It’s a nice deep soaking tub. Would stay there again if ever in NOLA.

Very nice place. Everything needed was provided plus a coffee bar and small snacks (a very nice touch). There was an industrial site nearby that did provide noise, otherwise a very quiet neighborhood. Beds were very firm, but the living room was comfortable and the TV was a large size. Owner was great to work with, he came over to introduce himself the first day. He was super responsive to communication and quickly responded to the one minor issue we had cone up.

What makes this property unique

1.   The User Code to enter home will be issued before the arrival of the guest. Check In time is 3pm and Check Out is 11am2.   Every room has a Ceiling Fan with a Remote except the 1st room which will need to be controlled by the pull-down chains.3.    The TV’s are operated by their respective remotes.The TV’s use a built-in ROKU streaming service. Feel free to use any of your own subscription services.4.     WiFi network connection is : ATTPYZVps2.  Password : AmeliaSt301. For an easier connection, scan the QR code in the picture frame below the main TV.5.     Out of respect for our neighbors: No Loud Music after 10 pm.6.     Friendly reminder this home is NOT a Party Venue.7.     An assortment of K –cups have been provided, along with creamers and sugar. Please feel free to make use of the snacks and water provided8.     Towels will be provided for guests. They can be found on the racks and shelves of the guest bathroom and the master bedroom.9.     Toiletries are available for your use. Make up removal towels have been provided and there is a hair dryer in each bathroom.10. Please do not flush any feminine products down the toilet. Disposal bags can be found in every bathroom.11. There are first aid kits located in the Pantry.12. A mounted Fire extinguisher can be found in the Kitchen.13. Cleaning supplies will be located in the laundry room in the cabinet in the Wash room. We have also provided laundry detergent for your convenience.14. Upon check out please strip the bed linen.  Place the bed linen and used towels on the bed before leaving.15. The Garbage for the house is located in the Pull-out Bottom Right Cabinet next to the Back Door. Garbage Days are on Tuesdays and Fridays. The Garbage Bin can be placed out at the end of the Driveway facing the Street. 16. There are 2 Lever Knobs on the Back door. The top one is the functional door lever. Locking is accomplished with pressing the Lock button. Just so know, it will still open even locked from the inside.17. There are 2 Exterior Cameras on the Property. The 1st one is a Blink Door Bell and the 2nd is outside of our Warehouse shop over the back door.Some pet friendly supplies can be found at the bottom of the Pantry. The yard is enclosed but please supervise your pet at all times. We have supplied a sofa cover to be placed on the sofa.Dog lovers – we have provided a complimentary pet bed. There are pee pads , doggy poo bags and an assortment of doggy toys. Cat  lovers- we have provided a cat litter box , cat toys and scratching mat .We love to accommodate you and your pet during your stay with us. The required pet fee of $75.00 goes towards additional cleaning costs.
