About the host
Hosted by John Moran
I took my first trip to Ireland in 1985 and raced around the West coast from Donegal to Cork and stumbled upon Dingle. Had it been my first stop, I wouldn't have gone any further.
Having stayed in B&B's and Inns in the various villages and in town over the years, we bought a site on rocks above Smerwick Harbor and within a half mile of one of our favorite country pubs. Notwithstanding our end-of-the-earth setting, 10 minute access to Dingle affords the best music and cuisine you can find in Ireland.

Why they chose this property
There are numerous pubs that dot the peninsula outside of Dingle. We found ourselves in a pleasant rotation, yet always apprehensive about missing a football match or a session that might surpass the perfection of the moment. We stumbled upon a lot in the center of it all with views of ocean swells exploding off rocks, within ten minutes of town and concluded that "we have to do this," and thats what we did.
What makes this property unique
The home is L shaped with two wings on two floors that affords privacy even with several couples/families.
The living room faces the sea in the back and the mountains in the front. The tides, clouds and light make for an ever changing view. In the living room there is a traditional fireplace where you can burn turf coal or turf briquettes.
Its the perfect combination of traditional Irish with modern amenities.
