The place was very family-friendly, spacious, and clean. It’s in a great neighborhood with a central location. Most importantly, the host was extremely responsive and helpful throughout our stay.
Excellent location but the pictures are misleading as there is a “funky” shower in the master bedroom- not usable. Noisy as it’s right in a busy area, parking can be challenging.Walking distance from supermarket, pharmacy, restaurants and gas station.Older buildings transformed into an apartment. Good for big families not for older people.
Sam was a great host. Very attentive but not overbearing, his place was perfect for 6 guys visiting Montreal for the first time. His house is much larger that it looks from the outside, stocked with just about anything one might need, highly recommend it.MJJ
Sam’s place is great for large groups visiting Montreal. Location is very convenient: bus stop right outside or a 10min walk to a metro station; Old Montreal/Notre Dame is a straight 20min walk. And not to mention the abundance of restaurants and cafes in Griffintown. The apartment was clean and Sam was amazing in responding to all our requests, big and small such as replenishing household items and fixing minor issues.

This property was surprisingly inferior. The online pictures are simply misleading,During our 5-day stay, we encountered numerous problems:1. In the entryway outside the front door, we saw 4 mails slots stuffed with old mail (weeks if not months old). No one ever collected this mail and it remained unsightly. 2. The spiral staircase that goes downstairs is unsafe. The metal railing at the top of staircase is loose and unstable; you could easily fall if you grabbed it hard to take your weight. The owner has not fixed this obvious problem. 3. The air conditioner never did work during our stay. The temp never fell below 23 degrees, which is uncomfortably warm especially for sleeping at night. 4. The dishwasher is terribly inadequate. It has no top rack and the bottom rack is damaged & does not slide in & out properly. You could easily break glasses loading the washer. 5. Kitchen cabinets are not easy to open, as they have no handles. Installing simple hardware would fix this, but owner has not done so. 6. There is no exit to the outside for the rooms downstairs. In a fire, you could be trapped. In our state & city, this would be illegal. 7. In the nicest bedroom, the toilet flushes properly only on every OTHER flush. Why?8. The kitchen/dining table is unstable. The tabletop tilts back & forth when it takes any weight. This too is unsafe.9. Neither TV seems to work. 10. No hand towels in bathrooms, and no kleenex anywhere.
