The Space:

Heaven's Nest is a VIBE! It’s nestled among the famous granite boulders with EXPANSIVE views of Lake Tahoe on one side, and of Carson Valley on the other, you feel as though you are in the clouds (or Heaven?). Like a lot of homes in Tahoe with lake views, you have to climb about 4 full flights of stairs to the front door.

HOME FYIs

- Having great views comes with a cost, THE STAIRS! You have to climb about 4 full flights of stairs to get to the front door so please consider that before booking.

- There is no garage at this home. Parking is on the street level off to the side closest to the bear box.

- The TVs in this home are Smart casting only. No cable. There are very detailed directions in the guest book.



PARKING PASSES

Douglas County requires all renters to display a parking pass on the dash of their car for the duration of their stay. They are located inside the home on the wall by the front door. Please put this on your dash immediately upon arrival to avoid a fine from the county. If the box is empty let us know right away. Reminder: we are only permitted for a certain # of vehicles to be parked in the designated areas only (garage, driveway, parking lot, etc). No street parking is allowed at rentals, per the county, regardless if you have a parking pass or not. Appreciate your cooperation with the Douglas County rental ordinance!



COUNTY RENTAL LAWS

Please understand that these are laws set forth by the county that we all must abide by in order to keep Lake Tahoe an enjoyable and safe place to visit for years to come! :)

1. 10pm - 8am is the county quiet time for all rentals.

2. Trash goes into the bear box only and is not to be left outside.

3. We cannot host extra people at this home or allow parties.

4. No extra cars, parking on the street OR on the dirt.

*Possible fines from local police or eviction can result if laws are not followed.

5. No smoking - Tahoe is on high fire watch - Absolutely no smoking allowed.

6. Please lock all doors / windows to prevent wildlife break ins.

Your door code is the last 4 digits of your booking phone number followed by the check mark button that will activate at 4pm. Wonderful property! There a lot of stairs, but my 62 year old mom and I did fine. Nice details, full kitchen, comfortable furnishings. My daughter loved the industrial decor. The AV setup for streaming was great. We would stay here again.

Amazing Views

The house met our expectations and more. Gorgeous views from all the windows, quick responses from the management team, detailed guest book to address any questions, labels throughout the property to identify lighting, etc., beautifully decorated, comfortable beds, very clean. We were very happy with our stay. The only negative was the stairs to get to the front door, but so worth the climb!

This place was wonderful! The pictures don't do it justice. The beds were comfy and the instructions made everything super easy. The stairs were a doozy, but we knew what we were getting into the views were totally worth it. The location was perfect for heading to the Nevada side of Heavenly and lots of great restaurants were within easy driving distance. If I had to be nitpicky, it would be that it's been a few years since we've seen checkout instructions that required stripping beds, taking out trash, and running the dishwasher. I was happy to do so, but it made me realize how uncommon that is these days. Most places we have stayed at just say: turn off the lights, set the thermostat, and have a safe trip. But again, that is very nitpicky! Thanks for a lovely stay!

Pure Heaven

I agree with an earlier post. The pictures do not do it justice. The view was truly heavenly. Above 7400 feet above sea level. While we were there, it snowed on Mothers Day only enhancing the trip. Easy to get there and seamless check in. This is my 2nd most favorite trip only behind Capri Italy. We will be back.

Oh The View!

This Property is all that you could ask for. Comfortable rooms, incredible deck, great location and yes.... the view. I found it so peaceful just staring out the window looking at the lake and mountains. Even got to watch a Hot Air Balloon land on a boat in the lake. (That excursion will be next trip) The house has everything you need. If you would like to cook at the house, there is a Safeway close, and the kitchen is fully functional. Heavenly Village is less than 15 minutes with all the restaurants, bars and shopping. I recommend Base Camp Pizza. Amazing salads, Pizza’s, Craft Beer and our service was top notch. Access to the house is easy and the highway to drive around the lake is close and really a must! Plenty to do and see on your way around! Overall, an amazing trip and I ask that you give this property a serious look. Don't let the "stair" comments keep you from having an amazing stay!

Great views; OK property.

We wanted a quiet place away from the busy-ness of So Lake Tahoe, and this was a great place for that. Just a 15 minute drive to So Lake Tahoe when you wanted to get there. The views were awesome, clearly the biggest feature of this rental property. The ad pics were artfully done, descriptions well written, and the place had great views, but overall we were disappointed with the rental. We heard nothing from the management company until a few days before we got there. As the trip got closer, I hadn't heard anything from them, so I tried to confirm the reservation with an email and just got a "you'll hear something about a week from check-in". The smoke detectors low-battery alert went off, so I texted them and heard nothing back. Ended up just taking the detector apart to stop the beeping. Use of the TV's are on your phone or tablet - no cable. We connected quickly, but found using our streaming services with their internet and TV was quirky. Like others, we felt the steps were an issue. The description said there were steps, but that hardly described the extent or height of this place above street level! That was one thing for which there were NOT any pictures of. We're in good shape, and admittedly we live at sea level (house is above 7,200 ft elevation), but we seriously worried about anyone that wasn't in shape or someone older with any medical issues... Nice place but for the money, we found ourselves sitting in this house wishing we had taken other properties in the area.

Unfortunately, no text message was ever received from you regarding the smoke alarm, or our local operations team would have swiftly managed replacement. In regard to the stairs - we have mention of the 4 full flights of stairs both in the first paragraph of the listing description, as well as the “Important” section. We also have photos within the listing to ensure potential guests are aware of the stairs prior to booking. It is a home you’d spend a lot of time in because of the beautiful lake views!

Fantastic rental for my 40th bday weekend

Such a cool experience being tucked away a bit but also minutes drive to the lake and restaurants. Views were fantastic and the stairs with altitude were great workouts whether you wanted them or not! Once you get to the top you may need a breather before going up the final stairs to the kitchen area haha. Place came with almost everything we needed. One tiny thing I could've brought had I known were tongs as I like to use those for the bbq. Also just FYI the master bathroom doesn't have it's own door so we just used the door to the master bedroom to signal to the other downstairs bedroom user whether it was occupied or not. I guess that person could also share the bathroom upstairs. Can't wait to go back to Tahoe and possibly back to Heaven's Nest! Thanks for the great rental.

AMAZING Property! A must-stay in Lake Tahoe!

Heaven's Nest is most definitely an accurate name for this amazing home! It is by far our favorite vacation home we have ever rented! The home is perfectly nestled in the mountains with a spectacular view of Lake Tahoe on one side and stunning views of the mountains on the other. It is situated in a cul-de-sac in a quiet neighborhood, so all you hear are the sounds of nature all around you! The owners have thought of every detail in this home! It is beautifully decorated; has all of the amenities you could ever want; and is the perfect retreat for a Lake Tahoe getaway! The home is close to everything you could ever want to do! We had a short drive to the beach and to restaurants and shops, and we were just steps away from spectacular hiking trails! The owners even provided maps to the hiking trails and brochures to all the local attractions. The kitchen was PERFECT for cooking, and there were MANY places to sit outside and enjoy the views. The bedrooms are incredibly comfortable for sleeping and relaxing! We truly felt spoiled in this home and didn't want to leave! We can't wait to book this home again, if the owners will have us! Thank you so much for sharing your beautiful home with us! 5 stars for sure! If you're heading to South Lake Tahoe, this is the BEST home for your vacation! Beautiful Property, Excellent Location

This property is stunning! The pictures on VRBO undersell it. The master bath is a dream bath, the location is fantastic, and the view cannot be beat! The way the entertainment system is set up makes the television, streaming, and music very easy to use. The outdoor spaces make taking breakfast or coffee outside in the morning a highlight of the trip. Listening to music while reclined in the soaking tub cannot be beat! The property is well maintained and was very clean. A couple of notes: The description says there are a lot of stairs. I was prepared after staying in several mountain locations, but the other guests thought a lot meant 10 or 15. There are 62 steps from the street to the front door and another 14 to the upstairs rooms. My partner and I (45/47) and in moderate shape did not have an issue with them. My sister (46) who doesn't work out regularly found them challenging, as did her 8 year old son with asthma. My father (72), who uses a cane for balance, found them nearly impossible. Additionally, the property uses scented chemicals (Tide, Mr. Clean, Windex) to keep it clean. Individuals with scent sensitivities may be bothered by these products. The power went out on our day for check out. I was able to quickly reach the property management company and resolve the issue. The property management company is great! My partner and I will definitely be back! This was a dream property for us.

It is important to us that people are well informed and can make the right rental decision for their party prior to booking, due to the stairs and the altitude. Breathtaking

Once I got past the staircase to heaven and was able to catch my breath at the top of the stairs the magic began…the views from heavens next are what my family needed for a true getaway and connection with nature. The house is updated with lots of beautiful touches. The master bedroom is huge and the views from here too are stunning! The upstairs is just the same. Spotless and welcoming. They have lots of extra perks for your use, like essential oils and bath salts, robes, TVs in every room, and the kitchen is equipped with everything you need to make your stay comfortable. I can’t say enough about this place, I can’t wait to be back. I have been sharing the info with family and friends as well, hoping they too can enjoy a beautiful getaway in this heavenly dream house!

Amazing Views and perfect Location

The Nest was a wonderful retreat. We wished we could have stayed longer and the views were breathtaking. It was amazing to see Lake Tahoe and the mountains. Sunsets were beautiful and the nest was truly heavenly. Will definitely go back!

We had a fabulous time a Lake Tahoe. Heaven’s Nest was everything we expected and hoped for: clean, well stocked, and impeccably decorated. The hosts were very responsive and easy to work with. I highly recommend this property, as long as you can handle the 74 steps from the car to the kitchen!

Great View

7400 feet of great views. A lot of steps but not as bad as we thought. May be tough in winter. Close to everything in South Tahoe. Well stocked home had everything we needed. No TV unless you stream. Property manager was very responsive and helpful. No air conditioning so be aware if it is hot. Would definitely stay again.

Thank you for the review and the feedback. We have been told by locals we have the best view in Tahoe. Just to clarify, there are TVs in every room in the property, five TVs total; one in the family room, one in each bedroom and one in the master bathroom. There is no cable service so all TVs are set up to stream video from personal devices via Chromecast.

Perfect holiday

We have stayed at plenty of rental homes and we can easily say this was by far the one with the most breathtaking views, best prepared, provisioned and organized. Holly and Stephane exceeded our expectations in providing us with every necessity to enjoy our holiday from detailed instructions on how to use electronics/appliances, fully stocked toiletries, ample linens/towels and suggestions of local things to do/see/explore. Just as important is how beautifully decorated their home is with comfy furniture indoors and outdoors, and top notch fixtures/finishes. The tranquility is worth the drive (and the stairs) - a perfect getaway …. we hope to be back again.
