About this property

Macatawa- Mackinaw City Cottage, walking distance to ferries!

A one bedroom bright and cheery cottage which is one of 3 on this property. It is walking distance to town. The focal point is the large screened front porch with a table and chairs for dining, and a wicker loveseat and chair for relaxing. Its the perfect place to unwind after a busy day of sight seeing or to sip a cup of coffee in the morning. The kitchen has everything you need to cook any meal. And the full bathroom has a shower/tub combo. The bedroom has a queen bed while the living area has a full size sofa bed. TV/cable and internet are included, with games and books for your enjoyment also. It is a short walk to town and to the Straights. (The cottage is not waterfront). And a quick drive gets you to the Headlands Dark Sky Park, sandy beaches, and the UP. We feel this is ideal for 2 people, but can sleep 3 or 4 if really needed.
If this is booked or if you are interested in waterfront a few miles out of town, please check out the site for “Pointe West”. The address is Carp Lake, but it’s located on Lake Michigan between Mackinaw City and Wilderness State Park.

Very cute cabin with everything we needed. Location was fantastic! We walked to the Fort, lighthouse and bridge viewpoint. You walk past Darrow's Family Restaurant on the way (great food). The shuttle to the Dock/Ferry was only 2 blocks away too. Less than a mile to walk down town, so you could just walk to the Ferry. I would highly recommend staying here.

This cottage is perfect walking distance from the Mackinaw City downtown area, and very walkable to the Shepler’s Ferry dock in order to save your money from parking! We would not hesitate to stay here again!!

Such a cute small place for 1-2 people. We loved everything about it. It was quiet, clean, and decorated so nice. I loved sitting on the porch and reading. It was so close to town. We brought our bikes and rode into town more than once. We rode to the Mackinac Island ferry with our bikes. We will stay again!

B.E.S.T cozy lil cottage in the area!Property well maintained, inside was clean, and basic needs all covered.Wish we could've stayed longer!They have AC unit inside for the summer.Everything is nearby, the ferry is walking distance! Which was nice bcs you don't have to pay extra for parking.I can tell the host really cares about their guests, their decorations are super cute! It makes you don't want to leave! Looove the additional charcoal grill firepit outside.Tips:1. Bring your bug spray you'll need it. Outside, they're brutal. We had problems with the flies and they sting! 2. Pack enough or more for your stay so you don't have to do laundry.3. Bring canned items or jar sauce to be able to cook dinners bcs the grocery store is small and has limited items.Our favorite place was Audie's family restaurant. Try their Walleye!We are so grateful we had a great time! We were so sad to leave... Thank you !

Great location in a quiet neigborhood that is within walking distance of almost everything in Mackinaw City. We used our stay here to see all the wonderful fall colors northern Michigan has to offer. Location made it easy to reach the UP as well as both coasts in northern Michigan for out and back day trips. Host was easy to reach and the entire stay went very smoothly. Clean, cozy, and comfortable!

We bought this property as a "fixer upper" opportunity. We enjoy renovating projects together and love Mackinaw (vacationed here every summer with our kids) so this was the perfect place for us. The 3 cottages give us a vacation home that will fit all of us as our children get married and have their own families.

Why they chose this property

We also love this place for its history as part of the Lazy T resort decades ago. So to restore these cottages and rent them again for families to enjoy is an added benefit. Plus Mack City is a great starting point for other travels to the U.P. and other northern Michigan tourist towns.
