Great stay in a very nice house with a great island location. We really felt the hospitality of the host family and a lot of care was taken in making this house comfortable. Well stocked with linens, kitchen items, overall a very thoughtfully set up home. Would stay again and highly recommend.
Cozy little place tucked away in the woods but a short 10-15 minute drive from pretty much anything. The place was clean and had everything we could ask for, the owners were very responsive and willing to work with us when our trip situation changed.
We really enjoyed our stay. The location made it easy to access all parts of the island for hikes and sight seeing with a comfortable place to return to.
The central location made getting to any sections of the park on MDI a breeze. Being set back into the woods while also close enough to walk to a playground and a few other little amenities was a nice bonus for our young family! Add in the well-equipped kitchen and overall cozy property and I can't imagine a better place to stay for our daughters' first National Park experience!
Our stay was perfect except for the fact we couldn’t stay longer. The house and property were exactly how they were pictured and was the most well stocked & equipped home we have ever stayed at. The peacefulness outside whether it was on the porch in the morning or near the firepit in the evening was exactly what I hoped for. Annette and Jim were fantastic hosts and very easy to get in touch with and responsive.
Great location, responsive hosts, clean and comfortable, everything was lovely

Very good location close to the park and harbor
The house itself was very neat and provided many of the necessary provisions for a comfortable stay. Would stay again in future trips to Mt Desert island.
Cozy, comfortable home away from it all, but close enough to everything you could want in Bar Harbor and Acadia. Jim is a master lobsterman and delivered our holiday dinner.
Annette and Jim's house was the perfect place to come to after a day full of adventures. We loved the location, and how close it was to Bar Harbor and Acadia National Park. Their house was super clean and cozy, and had the most comfortable beds! If we are fortunate enough to make it back to the Bar Harbor area, we will be SURE to stay here! It was the most perfect stay!
This house was perfect for our group of four adults and two children. The house is tucked away and private with a large wrap around deck perfect for relaxing in the evenings. We found the location to be great for exploring different parts of Acadia. Owners were very responsive to my questions during our stay.
This is our third time at this property. It was clean and comfortable as usual. The location is great because you can get to BH, Acadia, SW Harbor, Ellsworth and the west side within a short drive. The house worked great for kids and adults.
My family had a wonderful trip to Acadia National Park and this house was so nice to come home to after long days enjoying the park. Noticeably very clean, great kitchen and porch! Thank you!
Had such a great experience last year, came back again. Very clean home, has everything you'd need in a rental. Hosts are kind and responsive to inquiries. Close to enjoy all Acadia has to offer but without the craziness of Bar Harbor. Quiet street, great pizza place within walking distance and other great restaurants close-by without that intense-touristy feel.
Wonderful home for a family vacation! We loved how quiet this house was but that it was close to Acadia and Bar Harbor without having to deal with the traffic. The house itself had everything we needed and more. We thought it was larger that the pictures showed. We always enjoyed ending our busy days eating dinner on the deck then playing games around the fire. We hope to rent this home again next time we are in town.
This house was perfect for us and the location was great! We were lucky to have visited during fall's peak color and enjoyed Acadia National Park very much. We also took Jim up on his offer of fresh lobster- something we will never forget!

A great stay!
Annette is very accommodating. She provided us a pack-n-play (which looks new) and a highchair for our toddler. She even dropped off some trash bags when we ran out!
The house is in a very good shape, and the kitchen has everything we needed. We really enjoyed the big wrap around deck and the fire pit. It's located within 20-25 minutes drive to any part of the island, and about 10 minutes if you drive off the island for grocery and restaurant.
Thank you for sharing your house, Annette and Jim! We'll stay again next time we come to Acadia NP.
The house is so well stocked it feels like home. The owners were very communicative and we enjoyed our stay at Acadia so much. Will be happy to return.
The house was a cozy, charming home. It was very clean and taken care of. It is right near some great places to eat, and a short drive to Acadia

About the host
Hosted by Annette and Jim Dow
We are local residents of Mount Desert Island, going back several generations. I have worked for the local school district for over 25 years and my husband Jim being a full-time year round lobsterman on his boat the F/V Blythe Megan named for our 2 daughters.
Why they chose this property
Our home is located on several acres that goes back 3 generations in my family, the Norwoods, in the village of Town Hill. There are several homes in our neighborhood with the majority still own by my family members.
What makes this property unique
Our home is located on Route 102 off the main highway in a wooded lot. We have a wrap around front porch and deck with lots of seating to enjoy the quiet of the evenings or coffee in the morning.
