Cozy English Basement Guesthouse

My guesthouse is close to Fort Totten Metro Station, dining & shopping on Upshur Avenue in Petworth, and a 10 minute cab drive to the popular U Street Corridor. You’ll love my place because of easy it's access to buses and the subway. Great for couples, solo adventurers, and business travelers. It sleeps two comfortably with a queen size bed and twin futon sofa bed. The tree lined neighborhood is quiet. There is ample parking if you are driving a car on your trip.

I had a great stay here! Teri was nice and communicative, and it would be almost impossible to find a similar place at such a great price!- Positives: great/safe location, easy access to public transit (nearest bus pick-up 5 minute walk; nearest train station 15 minute walk), and Teri provided some drinks and snacks!- Negatives: bathroom was tight and the property could use some updates.Overall, I had a great stay here and I would recommend this property.

Very convenient to all sites in Washington DC. On street parking was always available. When it was warm, we were able to get cool. When it was cold, we were warm. The unit was clean except for the refrigerater drawer and the throw rugs need to go away. We were comfortable and felt safe. The neighbors were friendly also. No real complaints that matter. Good experience.

This was the second time staying, and it was still an amazing experience. One thing was that the big standing fan we used last time for air circulation was broken, but the little one worked well enough to make us comfortable. There was also hair clogging the shower before we arrived, which had to be cleared for the shower to drain. Overall experience was still good apart from these two things.

Washington DC base for exploring

We used the guesthouse as our base to explore DC. We walked to Fort Totten metro train station, about a 15 minute walk, and it was ideal. We used the stove to cook at night and big fridge was great.

Perfect getaway

Perfect place for a quick getaway to enjoy all that DC has to offer. Directions were clear and place fit the 2 of us. We were so exhausted from our adventures the noise from above did not bother us - similar to living in an apartment and hearing footsteps and chairs

Great base for exploring DC

I enjoyed staying here. It was the right size and convenient to both the bus and Metro for going downtown to see the sights. The kitchen had tea and snacks, which were a godsend until I could get to a store. The unit was a bit warm at times

1000% would recommend this house! It was very clean, tons of space, and beds were comfortable. It was a great location being close to the grocery store and within walking distance to camp watercolor. The community pool was right across the street which we enjoyed using in the evenings and it was never crowded. The free trolley rides throughout the community were an added bonus! The hosts were very easy to communicate with and it was an easy check in and check out process. We are already looking at staying here next year!
