Your Northern Arizona getaway awaits you in Cottonwood, the heart of Verde Valley wine country. Enjoy all the amenities of home with cozy furnishings, modern appliances, fast WiFi, air-conditioning, and an open floor plan perfect for entertaining with family and friends.

The Barn is tucked into the back corner of a 2.5-acre property, allowing you to enjoy the two large porches, fire pit, swimming pool, and natural surrounding landscape (a bit of a birder's paradise), all with ample privacy.

When you're ready to explore all that the Verde Valley has to offer, you'll find that you're right in the middle of everything: 7 minutes from Old Town Cottonwood with a wide variety of restaurants, shops, and wine tasting rooms, 15 minutes to the vineyards of Page Springs, 18 minutes to historic Jerome, 22 minutes to the heart of Sedona's red rock vistas, one hour and 15 minutes to the high country of Flagstaff, and two and a half hours to the Grand Canyon.

If you happen to be traveling in an EV, rest easy knowing that you can power your explorations with free, on-site, Level 2 charging (up to 11kW), off-set by the Barn's large solar array. (Please no charging during peak hours (4-7pm, M-F.)

Load and start the dishwasher
Gather used towels
Remove personal items, remove leftover food and drinks and take out the rubbish
Turn off the lights, lock the doors and return the keys
Please put your trash and clean recycling in the large bins beside the shed (grey lid for trash, blue lid for recycling).
Bed Sheets Please leave all sheets and bedding on the beds; we’ll handle it. Used Towels Please leave all used towels on the floor of either bathroom.
Please close all windows and lock all doors & pool gates. Return the house key to the lock box beside the front door.
Failure to complete these may result in a negative review from the host.
EV Charging is not permitted during peak rate times, Mon-Fri 4pm-7pm; extra fees apply for charging during these hours.
Please do not try to access locked spaces which contain owners' personal items and supplies for housekeeping team.
The wood stove has been decommissioned and is not operational. Please do not try to light a fire in the stove as it will fill the house with smoke.

The kitchen was nicely supplied. The home was in a quiet neighborhood and conveniently close to Sedona if you want to avoid most of the touristy bustle.

Everything was clean and stocked for us for our stay. It was a wonderful enjoyable place to be at. We loved the privacy of it. Only downfall was the pool wasn’t heated. We did put our legs in it though, and it was very clean. Our host Josh was always reachable within minutes. We would definitely return.

Very had a vey comfortable stay. The home is in a great location both beautiful and peaceful. Hosts keep everything pristine and have thoughtful touches in every room. Kitchen was very well stocked and appointed. Plenty of outdoor spaces to enjoy. Every thing was clean and comfortable, hosts clearly take pride in sharing their home and had minimal checkout instructions which made our excellent stay all the more enjoyable. House is immaculate and beautiful. We appreciated the extra touches (water in fridge, snacks, bird feeders filled etc.). Property is quite, relaxing yet close to everything. We wanted to come home after a day out. Communication with the owner was stellar. We would stay here again and recommend this home.

Hi Nancy, Thank you so much for the kind review. We're glad that you enjoyed your stay, despite the Internet hiccup on Friday night. Our cleaning crew alerted us to the presence of an undisclosed pet, with a fair amount of white hair and a few nose prints on the windows that required some extra cleaning time. Though we are a dog family ourselves and welcome dogs at the Barn, we do require pet disclosure at time of booking as well as a pet cleaning fee. These allow us to plan for the additional time and costs associated cleaning after guests with pets. In this case, with the inconvenience of the Internet outage, we figured we'd call it a wash. All that said, we'd welcome you back any time, just please let us know if you plan to bring your pet. Cheers, Candace & Josh

Candace and Josh were both born on the east coast but have had ties to the Verde Valley for more than 40 years, with three teenagers in school in the area. We love hiking and exploring locally and across all of the spectacular regions and parks of the desert southwest.

Why they chose this property

Cottonwood and the Verde Valley have so much to offer both residents and visitors. Though most people think of it primarily as an adjacent community to the tourist mecca of Sedona, over the years Cottonwood has become a travel hub and destination unto itself. Whether it's shopping or dining along the revitalized strip of Old Town Cottonwood, taking a short drive to explore the historic ghost town of Jerome, paddling the Verde River, or sampling the regional vineyards and tasting rooms, there is no shortage of attractions and activities to keep you busy.

What makes this property unique

The Barn has been in our family for nearly 40 years, having served much of that time as our family home, with stints as both a long and short-term rental home over the years as career and life demands have taken to other parts of the country. But no matter how long we spend away from the Barn, it's always a pleasure to return, to enjoy a morning coffee on the porch watching the birds, an afternoon by the pool, or an evening by the fire.

In recent years we've made a number of updates and improvements, both decorative and functional, including cozy beds and comfy furniture, new flooring, refinished bathrooms, a large smart TV and bluetooth sound system, updated appliances, mini-split heating and cooling through-out, solar power with battery backup, and an EV charger.

We're confident that you will find the Barn just as comfy and relaxing as we do, for however long you stay.
